Just bought a note 2

Hello Guys
I'm new in the forum and I just bought a galaxy note 2 n7100,I got it in china and has some kind of custom rom chinese I guess.
I also own a nexus 3 but I never changed the rom and is currently running android 4,2.
On my note I want to get an original rom or something that works well,what do you suggest me and what should I do?

You need to carefully read how to root and flash a new rom, if that's what you want. My site has an up-to-date list of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 ROMs. You can also see a few community links to information here at XDA, to help you learn how to root your device.
Read the threads carefully. You should follow the information for your Note II, not a different Note II.
Do you live in China? What do you mean some kind of custom rom Chinese? Did someone sell it with a custom rom on it?

1. Who would use that site to check for available roms instead of going to the android section?

thanks for your reply,I'm not chinese but I go often there.
Yes is a custom rom,with some Chinese stuff on it,as antivirus,something like whatapp but chinese and other stuff,I can't delete it and I would love to have a nice clean rom on it,can you please suggest me something?
do I need to make my device root before I install a ROM?

It's already rooted, don't worry.
Go to Settings > About device, and tell us what your baseband version is. Once knowing that, someone can point you in the direction of a nice ROM, which is as easy as making a few clicks.

Why not just flash stock sammy rom just like your Nexus3? The stock is good as it is for me. I would suggest go stock, then slap a 64gb microsd for hd movies for your trips to China ü
Updated roms should be round the corner anyway given the leaks mentioned everywhere.

Right it is,I just checked on terminal.
so it says android 4.1.1 based version N7100XXALIE
should I provide something else?
Also would be possible to make a back up of my samsung galaxy nexus 3 and move everything on my note 2?

Well hell, just go over to the Development section and download a nice ROM suited for your baseband. The N7100 has plenty of support.

You can backup your stuff from your Galaxy Nexus to your computer and move them over to your new phone. Unfortunately it doesn't have an SD card so you can't just move the card over and copy it.

I don't have an N7100, sorry. I can't give you any recommendations on ROMs for it.

hmmmm it's been few hours I try to download it but it breaks each time,is there another way to get it?

as far as i know some note 2 from china is not n7100(refer to attached). please check the compatibility before flashing any n7100 rom..

Thanks mate but I already checked and the 7100 is the only one they were selling for now,there is a 2 sim card version coming soon and another one with china mobile,should be 7108 if i m not wrong.

just used blackthund3r to root a500 and now all regular icons and settings in russian, how to get back to english??

haha lol all the money in my appstore was showing up in yin and i had to buy it in yin for some weird reason i think i just flashed another rom to fix it try checking your language in settings

now 500 dollar question, what is settings in russian lol

alright your going to have to count and se how far it is down you dont have the interface option on ics so you can skip that one and language should be the fourth option under personel. hope this helps haha as i accidentally changed mine t german trying to screencap the list of languages lol you might not have "profiles" under personel

nope only about 5 different languages and none are english.
flashed with i dont know what , looking for english kernal image and boot image

just go to the dev section Here you hhave to have an unlocked ics bootloader and be rooted for these to work. civato made some nice roms and randomblame has a nice jb rom out now it really depends what you want.
also you could try flashing it with whatever you flashed it with before js

You can flash other firmwares too... Try to search in sammobile.com, it will be there... Are you familar with Odin?

i have done it but i don't know what i need to choose how to know what i need ?
i know one thing this KERNEL-SKT-E330SKSUAMI2-1380022364 broke my home button and all the others work fine.
but if all others work fine ? what to choose ?

Any of those firmwares will work on your device, just install the most recent.
They will not break anything as they are intended for your phone.
flash with Odin, in the PDA section. DO NOT tick anything or change anything else.

Yes, quite simply you shouldn't fllash anything that's not specifically made for i9500.

I rooted the device and I have CWM installed.
I want something that looks like "stock" Android - Google Play edition etc and not the Samsung looking stuff. How do I do this? Or what am I missing?

That is meant for the i9505 and you have an i9500. Just like how 2013 Honda Accord window panels won't work in a 2001 Honda Accord

How Can I Get Google Edition Rom On My S4 i9500? Plz Help Me ?

All i know the official S4 Google Play Edition's ROM is for S4 i9505, it means different chipset (it uses qualcomm) than S4 i9500 (exynos).
I had i9500 too and i wish i can change it to google play edition...
