Hello guys, i want to ask you some questions about the note 3 battery. So..:
1. When on 13%, i plugged it on the wall using the stock charger. Exactly one hour later, it went up to 75%, like 1% per minute. After another 20 minutes, it went to 91%, slightly slower. 20 minutes later it was at 98%, and it needed another 20 - 25 minutes to charge completely from 98%. Is it normal? In total, it needed 2 hours and 10 minutes to charge completely from 13% and i guess it would need another extra 10 minutes to charge from 1% to 100%. These numbers are normal for the note 3?
2. I noticed that from 100% until 90%, the battery discharges faster than from 90% and down. Is this normal too? With moderate and maybe light use, and i mean some gaming, a little messaging and calling and browsing, from 100% i managed to come to the 13% mark in 2 days and 3 hours, and i thing is a pretty good number.
3. As i said, i have the stock charge that is 2 parts, the one that fits the wall and the other the usb cord. Some days ago, i left it overnight charging from 15%, and 6-7 hours later it was at 70%. I have one battery app installed and it said that it recognized the charger as a USB charger and not as an AC charger. I pushed the usb cord to fit better in the other part and then it recognized it as an AC charger. First, as it recognized it as a usb charger, is normal to need so many hours to charge it this way? I havent use it directly to a pc via usb to see how much time it needs to charge thiw say. And second, why the phone recognized the charger as usb and not ac? Its because that the cord didnt fit quite well in the first place or is it because of some sort of malfunction?
Thanks in advance guys!
EDIT: Sorry guys, I didnt notice the "no questions in the general forum!
2 things.
1) battery percentage is an estimate. For the health of the battery, they tell you it's 100% at anywhere between 85-100% actual charge.
2) charging speed is largely dependent on voltage differential. a battery at 3 volts can receive charge faster than a battery at 4.2 volts.

1 and 2 are normal. 3 is nothing to worry about.. When you have charging issues or something, just reboot ur phone...

Does using the AC charger charge the phone any quicker than using the USB charger?
I know I could try it, but Im trying to open as little of the packaging as possible in case I send the phone back.
I cant believe it takes SO long to charge and yet so little time to discharge
Should the phone be switched off when charging? It seems that if it is on, it drains the battery quicker than it charges??
Mine has been on charge since just after 9am and it is at 76%! I got to go to work in an hour
91 minutes ago I took the galaxy off charge . Dow
n to 81% battery. 30 minutes of that was travelling on my bike.
Ill be generous and say I spent 10 minutes browsing. That is some terrible battery life.
using AC adapter / mains power is always going to be faster than charging via usb because usb can only draw a certain amount of power... and no it does not matter if it is on or off when charging .. when battery is full it stops charging...
next... the battery life is fine. I get two days use with have HSPDA / wifi on 24/7 .. I listen to music for about 2 hours a day... email is getting pusher over as soon as possible...
Use advanced task killer.... and other memory 'cleaners' ...
and turn auto brightness off and set it to minimum when you can
Hi,
I have a really weird problem with my Nexus 4 for a few weeks now:
I connect it to a charger and it tells me it's charging, it even goes up to 100%, however, it doesn't actually charge. At some point a few minutes after disconnecting from the charger the battery percentage suddenly drops to a low value (somewhere around where I would expect it to be without charging).
As example what I mean here are some things that happened during the last few days:
One day I had it connected to my turned off PC (USB provides power anyways) and the next day it was turned off and when connected to a power socket charger it showed 0%.
Yesterday evening I plugged it in and after a few hours unplugged it because it showed 100%, this morning it then showed 30% (it's highly unlikely the battery drained this much doing nothing in 6 hours).
About one hour ago I rebooted it because it was only showing 13% (I "charged" it about 1 hour, before that it showed 10%) and after that it said the battery has 2% left.
However, sometimes it actually charges, but since I can't tell the difference between charging and fake charging it's starting to really piss me off.
The charger is not the problem, my Nexus 7 charges whenever it is connected to the charger and also it didn't work when connected to my PC either.
Is the firmware capable of interfering with the loading process (I have AOKP installed) or is the Nexus 4 simply damaged?
Any other idea what could be the cause of this problem?
EDIT: As previously said it says 2%, but it definitely isn't at 2% for real since it's like this for hours now. This sucks...

You can try to wipe batterystats.
I have noticed that I can start with my phone fully charged....get to work...facebook, text and mayb..e YouTube some, connect
To an external battery charger and then be on and off the phone all day maybe 15 mins per hour using the phone not
Connected to charger and then 45 mins on the charger and the phone never gets fully recharged.
It will rise in fall by maybe 20-30%
So if I let it get down to 50% use it it will go down to maybe 30-20% then let it charge it may come back to 50% and it does that
For the rest of the day. Even if I leave on charge for maybe an hour it won't get past 50-60%.
I tried just leaving it on a charger while listening to pandora.... at best it looses charge very slowly. Maybe 5-10= an hour.
I started off today fully charged and have maybe had it off an external battery for 30 mins during the last 3.5hrs and it is down to
77 or 75%. Is this normal? Yes there are a lot of notifications and such running non my phone.
This is very common place if you are not using the Samsung cable & Samsung charger. Generic chargers and cables don't always deliver the full current to the phone. Some will only pass about .5amps which is not enough to charge and have the screen active. There is a thread in the General Section called car chargers that has a lot of info on this.
Hi everyone!
My Nexus had a great battery Life at the beginning..after 6 months,it started to last less,so i bought a smartwatch to help the battery last longer; but the things didn't get better. The phone overheat when using maps or play some games just for 10 minutes;when i unplug the charger at 11.30 am in the morning,it goes to a 50 or 40% around 4 o' clock pm in the afternoon just after sending some WhatsApp messages, and after have played 15 minutes..the battery drains really really fast..but worst of all, when the battery reach the 25%,suddendly the phone turns off, telling that the battery have reached 1% and is empty. If i turn on the phone again, the battery percentage indicator is still set to 1%..what's the problem with it?i have a faulty battery?Need to call the Google assistance?
The phone is stock, not rooted or anithing else.
Thanks a lot!
I have had the same issue.
Occurs sometimes when I'm on 10%, I power it back on and it says 1%.
The problem is if you charge using QuickCharger all the time, especially overnight, it can degrade your battery but in a way that it doesn't fully charge.
Try using a normal USBC cable you got and PC to charge it for a few days...don't leave it charging more than 3 hours.
See if it'll get better after a week.
I Always use the supplied charger from Google..sometimes a car adapter with a usb c- usb c- cable...how is it possible that the stock Wall adapter mess up the battery??
So, I'm using the OEM charger that came with the phone. For the past 2 months the phone wasn't charging properly. It says it's rapidly charging, but the estimated time left was showing anything between 3 and 6 hours. In reality the phone charged to a 100% in about 3 hours. At first I thought my power outlet was the problem because it didn't behave this way every time. For that past 2 weeks it always charges slowly and sometimes even drains my battery. Last night I plugged it in and the phone had 40% battery, when I woke up the notification light was blinking red and the phone was off.
I think my charger is the culprit because the battery life is fine. Should I buy a new charger and if yes, what charger do I get because I can't find an original one anywhere ?
Thanks in advance.
