[Q] Bootloop even after changing ROM - problems with mounting /data - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi guys,
I've got a problem. On Tuesday I was updating my apps on Google Play - I've updated some apps and started just to use them. One of them was popular messenger in Poland. Something's went wrong and my smarthphone freezed. I pulled out the battery after few minutes to prepare a 'soft reset', but it stucked on bootloop. I've tried to make a wipe /data, but it couldn't even mount /data, so I decided to change the ROM from networks' one to newest stock one (one file rom). Everything's went good, but it still stucks on bootloop on another boot animation. I've tried also repartitioning it using the stock rom with "totoro_0623.pit" - still the same. Wiping data after flashing didn't give any change.
When the phone was restarting after the last flash, they was written that /data can't be mounted (invalid arguments).
I don't know what should I do right now. Do you have any propositions for me?
Thanks in advance!

you can try with my firmeware
download
http://d-h.st/FhE
unzip the file
put phone into download mode
connect to pc
start odin
put the files in the following places in odin
pda in pda
modem in phone
csc in csc
begin flashing
do not remove the cable untill the phone has fully booted
it will enter stock recovery and flash csc and restart itself so leave cable connected
this firmware is a wipe pack so it should wipe all your partitions
if it fails you can try with the pit file but do not tick the repartition box in odin or you will be in trouble as you need to also include bootloader files for that

Thanks for reply.
Is it recognized as a stock rom? And the second question: what should I do when I have tick on 'repartition'? What changes will be done then? I thought it's just repartitioning and the bootloader is still the same, without any changes.

if you tick repartition it will wipe your boot partition and your phone wont be able to boot which is why you have to put bootloader files in
you dont need to repartition - in all the times iv flashed stock roms iv never had to do it
That link is for stock room firmware XXMI1 on baseband XXMC2 - its european firmware but will work on any gt-s5360 to get it working
You can always change to another baseband if you find you have no network by flashing a stock rom from your region

Sorry but I didn't have enough time to prepare it in this week. As I saw, I probably need also the bootloader files. Can somebody point me which one will be good? And another question: after changing bootloader the counter on downloading mode will be incremented?

OMG I have an EMERGENCY... please help, I've searched for hours. :-(

So I am not to NOOB but I sure acted like it last night when I was way tired and tried to flash a ROM. Here is what I did...
I didn't catch that I didn't have the CWM but that I had booted into the stock recovery tool... Well I didn't before it was to late that is...
I clicked WIPE DATA
I clicked WIPE CACHE
Then noticed there was no "install from SD"
So it seems like whatever I find to install from ODIN I can't get the CWM to install so I can then flash a ROM!
I need my phone up for work, I am in HOT SH!T!
How can I either flash a rom via stock recovery "update format" OR install CMW via ODIN?
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!
Thank you
why don't you just flash again via odin and then root your phone via odin as well?
Don't quite understand whats your problem. So what if you wiped data and cache the rom is still there. Reboot normally and flash cfroot according to your firmware and then you should have cwm up and running. After that flash desired rom and the end.

Flash one of the CF-Root kernels through Odin, whichever one matches the firmware you're running. They have CWM baked in, along with root so you can flash a ROM afterwards.
If you can't get into download mode, turn your phone off, plug it in and hold down + power + home and it should boot into download mode. Then you can flash with Odin.
I thought the same thing, that so what that I wiped them... but when I rebooted the phone it just sits at the "Rethink possible screen"
I can get into download mode and I did find the "cf" post but I dunno what kernel I am running as I can't boot to go into settings to seek.
if you in recovery mod choose reboot, and it will be ok, than read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399,
or put in download mod: turn your phone off, hold down + power + home. Then flash with Odin.
I know you probably don't want to, but you can try doing a factory reset, that should allow you to get your phone up and running. If you have gmail installed it should put all your contacts back, as long as you backed up to gmail.
If you have an old copy of titanium backup you won't loose ALL your apps, this is why I tend to back up every weekend, I'm only a week behind with everything if problems arise....
Cheers...
Flash stock rom... Download cwm and flash with odin.... Then instal rom u want with cwm...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
like I said, I am not a noob, just made a mistake...
I found the cf-kernel page, but I dunno what kernel I am running and so I dunno what kernel to flash (It seems vital)
"just rebooting" don't work lol I wish... it hangs at the "rethink possible" boot screen...
I was rooted but running the stock rom, if I can get CWM installed I think I will be golden, but whatever I seem to flash from ODIN don't work :-( no matter what nothing will flash as "PDA" but when I flash using "phone" it seems to install "zimage" which is the embedded file and succeeds and phone reboots... but still only to the rethink possible point.
flash any stock firmware then flash supercore 2.0 and do whatever you want from there
Think i know what the problem is,i have same issue sometimes, try flashing anogher rooted Kernel through odin, make sure its like if the rom is a kj3 that it has a kj3 kernel.see if that works

Be glad to but it isn't an option in the recovery?
My options are as follows...
Reboot system now
Apply update from SD
Wipe/reset
Wipe/cache
been in similar, if not same situation, things were missing from cwm recovery, like you wrote...if memory serves me fine,
flash stock fw with pit, repartition and everything...
then some rootec kernel with recovery...
Oh sh!t... just flashed the pit file here... http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...-with-odin/#download-a-pit-file-for-the-i9100
and odin said success... and screen went black.
Not responding at all now :-(
let's go in a safe way...as long as you have download mode, you're OK.
Go to samfirmware or somewhere on XDA and find FULL STOCK FIRMWARE with proper .pit file and flash it with odin. Not kernel, not anything that is not full rom.
since you state that you are not noob, you know what from there.

What on earth are you doing?
It clearly states:
I9000 & I897 owners (not I91000!!!) may also need a PIT file (also included in RE ROM ZIP files). I will explain further what it's for.
Why didn't you follow a tutorial on xda? Can you boot in download mode?

Bootloop while flashing JW4

Hey, I tried flashing JW4 stock rom via ODIN which I downloaded from sammobile.
The name of the file is I9000XXJW4_I9000OXAJW4_XEU.zip and on extracting there were 2 files called JW4_JW4_JW4.tar & SS_DL.dll. I selected the tar file in PDA and flashed. The process passed but am stuck with bootloop. Plz help
I also flashed a jw4. But that was without the dll.
Anyway, after i flashed and it booted up i got a doozen errors telling me it couldnt mount different partitions.
So i gave it up as a bad one and found a thread here at xda with different stock roms and ended up with jw5.
No complications whatsoever. Yet
just google for "stock roms i9000 xda" and you should stumble over the thread i believe.
Good luck

I faced exactly the same problem: bootloop after flashing XXJW4 and many mount errors in the screen. I concluded that this firmware is not standalone in the sense that you cannot flash and repartition the device using it. Following this logic I performed these steps, leading me to a successfully recovered and fully functional XXJW4 phone:
Flash it with a full stock firmware, e.g. XXJVU (mark "repartition" as well).
Flash XXJW4 as you have done it, but make sure "Repartition" is not selected. That is, just select the tar file in the PDA field and leave the rest with the default options.
Another huge problem Got Black Screen Of Death. Am able to get my phone on to download mode but odin is not detecting my phone. HELP ME What to do?

Use another USB port. You can flash deodex version of JW4 which doesn't have any problems
bootloops
Factory Reset / Cache Wipe /
use by the Pitfile from JW 1 and flash the JW 4 ,that`s it !!

Your PDA file might be missing the dbdata.rfs file, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24182099&highlight=dbdata#post24182099, which can cause boot loops.

[Q] S4 keeps rebooting

Hello all,
I have a S4 in my hands.
Now the history of the Phone is as follows:
Customer tried to take out the sim card by force. And broke the metal plate.
Yesterday I replaced the microsim/sim slot. Testing the full Phone and ready to go.
Today I go back to the end customer for the same device.
It keeps rebooting after the samsung galaxy S4 white screen. And keeps going.
This is what I tried:
Updating to newest rom - no luck
Plugigng in into pc by cable - keeps rebooting with only showing the battery icon.
Try to go in recovery mode - not possible
Going into download mode - works
The little smash trick of YouTube (smash to table gently with side of power button down) - don't work
Any suggestions?
So you are the employee that fixes phones and don't know what to do with a bootloop, but do know how to replace a simslot? I am somewhat confused..
A bootloop always has some cause.. check init.d script or so.
Code:
adb wait-for-device
adb shell chmod 000 /system/etc/init.d/*
at least get an adb connection and logcat,
Code:
adb wait-for-device
adb logcat -C
else you cannot say anything about the problem since you don't know the cause. (if debugging is disabled unpack boot.img and make changes in ram disk for enabling debugging/adb, then repack and reflash)
If download mode works just flash a custom recovery first, make a nandroid backup (make sure you secure the files whenever possible, since there is the nasty symlink "/data/media/" which is actually just /sdard. so if you wipe data manually it the nandroid backup will be gone), then try to do factory reset, if it doesn't work still, just reflash stock rom with odin + factory reset.
oh and for the record, the simslot being broken is not the cause of the bootloop, just that you know.
Hi,
When you say "updating to newest ROM" do you mean that you flashed stock ROM again via Odin? If not, then that's my suggestion for you, but first I'd try factory resetting it via stock recovery.
~Lord
Thank you for Your kind reply.
Yes indeed, I fix a lot, but I have and know my limits. . I've tried a lot to pass the boot loop.
But if it's not possible to fix it for me. Than its better to ask.
I will try a custom rom. And keep you informed. Thank you.
Installing a rom with odin din't help. I got na Green PASS but bootloop keeps running.
Installing CWM did not help allso, it give me a PASS, but I can't enter recovery.
So, how do I get acces to init.d ?
If recovery mode doesn't work and the device keeps rebooting, try to flash stock ROM with Odin and put the .PIT file after checking 'Re-Partition'

Just ready. got a green pass in odin. But still the same, and not able to go in recovery.
Maybe a hardware malfunction? Can I test that somewhere?
Retry with the same procedure a couple of times... if this doesn't solve problems, then it's an hardware fault

[Q] Need help flashing a S4 bricks every time!

I have acquired an SHV-E330L and It was flashed in the wrong order. The newest rom was flashed without making sure it was done in the correct order. It will not flash with out destroying the partition on the phone. No matter if you try to flash Clockworks or a different rom it bricks and requires a PIT flash to recover. I need to re flash it because the current rom has glitches and the phone is not working well. Thanks in advance for any help. I just want it to flash correctly again. THANKS!!!!
Have you tried to flash any of Official firmwares?
What rom you had before and whitch one you tried to flash?
If you want to flash correctly then start from 0. Meaning do a factory reset from recovery, which will wipe the internal storage and everything.
Or flash that pit file.

Just go to the link above and start flashing all files including .Pit and Re-Partition!
Your device needs to be formated this time for that issue!

Not sure I just acquired it from a buddy that messed it up. I got the rom from a link on this site. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2587037 I had the newest file on the list in .zip but I did not have the steps so that rom on top was flashed to revive the device. Now I dont know how to fix it. I need the files and steps to flash it. Im still kinda learning this phone stuff I paint cars for a living lol...
I have done that and I just fails durring flash and simi-briks untill I flash the Pit file. Even if I try to flash Clockworks to the phone it fails and requires the .pit file once again to be usable. Im still learning this phone stuff so maybe I need a step by step for the dumb lol.....

Paying to get this fixed

My s7 edge got stuck at boot screen so i reflashed stock rom and rerooted then restored the backup i had, it said fail because of low memory while restoring the system and now when i try to reflash the stock rom on odin it says model dismatch fail.

i did that lol thats when it says "model dismatch fail"
Do you have custom recovery?
Do you have a custom recovery?
Do you have the right and the newest Odin Version?
Did you try it with another transfercable or USB-Port?
Do you have the newest samsung drivers?
Did you have any Odin problems like this before?
My suggestion:
Just do a full wipe on your phone. Downlad the newest Odin Version. Get your device into download mode (maybe try different transfercables or USB Ports and the newest samsung drivers) and see if it works now.
If yes, flash the right Bootloader and Modem for your device and then flash the rom you wanted to flash.
If this didnt work, (and you have a custom recovery) try to reinstall the rom without any backups via the recovery at first and check afterwards, if the device is now recognized by Odin.
Good luck

I guess you still have twrp installed.
1. Step: go to TWRP and wipe everything except your SD-Card
2. Step: enter download mode on your device and then plug your usb in (maybe try a different usb-port or even another computer, or another usb cable)
3. Step:Flash the newest bootloader & modem in one step.
4. Step: Enter TWRP again and flash the firmware.zip via the installation process
I dont have TWRP, but i got it fixed, somehow my roomate got it, thanks anyways guys
So all he got was my phone to turn on, im still having this model dismatch fail issue..
Maybe You're trying to flash wrong firmware? What model did You buy?(check box) and what firmware did You download?
If nothing works then download 7zip. And remove all files from that tar.md5 file and leave system.img only. And then try reflashing it.
This way no matter what device You connect it should force flash this image file. Although it might be dangerous (a tiny little bit) so first make sure that You have proper firmware for Your model.

Yes, I've used these files multiple times before i did what i did, ill give that a try, if it works, i owe you.
If system.img by itself will flash successfully and Your phone won't boot then add slowly more files to that tar file (boot.img, recovery.img etc)
You could also try looking for a pit file for Your phone and then flash it with it. Pit file usually fixes most problems even broken partitions.
And make sure that You put that tar file in AP/PDA.
If nothing above works then send me screenshots of ODIN and the file that You're trying to flash. Maybe I'll notice something. But I hope You'll fix it
