I was going through my settings customising my new ROM all of a sudden my navigation buttons were switched around (back button on the right) my clock and battery indicator are now on the top LEFT (see screenshot) and everything else is flipped to the left too, almost like a left handed mode. In chrome the interface is flipped too, can't figure it out.
Here are a couple of screenshots, this is a relatively fresh install, as far as I know I didnt toggle any settings to change my interface to this.

.... and I have some questions that someone can hopefully answer. I've searched thru the Nook Color forums but couldn't find anything relevant.
First: Installation to EMMC on my Nook Color was flawless and all my apps installed and ran without problem.
This CM9 release is AWESOME! Everything looks and works great!!! Its so nice to have all the icons look great without having to screw with LCD density.
Questions: First question really important... other two just annoyances.
1) Full Screen Apps: I have Auto Hide checked under System>Combined Bar. Yet the status bar will not go away when running full screen apps such as Angry Birds, PowerAmp, and Repligo Reader. Is there another setting somewhere for this???? Or is this something that's broken and waiting to be fixed????
2) Soft Buttons in the status bar: There are three buttons showing: Back, Home & Recent Apps. The Home button is redundant as the Nook button does that. The Recent Apps button is totally useless for me and I would like to change it to a Menu button. But I can't find any settings for the Soft Buttons like there was in CM7 under the CyanogenMod settings.
3) Power Control Widget: I was able to turn buttons off and on in settings for the Power Control Widget in CM7. That appears not to be the case in CM9.... I only need and want the WiFi and Brightness buttons. How do I select Power Control Buttons in CM9?????
Running CyanogenMod version 9-20120703-UNOFFICAL-encore
Take a look at the AOKP port for the nook by Krylon360 in the dev thread. All that is possible.

Some things fixed....
I was unable to download Zeam Launcher from Google Play.
Said my device was incompatible.
Bullfeathers......
Found the newest Zeam version v3.1.10, downloaded and installed it, and it works just fine.
Running Zeam fixed problem number 1 above.... with Zeam running, the status bar is moved back to the top and all my full screen applications work perfectly now.
Problem number 2 has changed somewhat.... no soft buttons now in the status bar. This isn't a real problem as I'm used to using Button Savior, which really helps when in a full screen app. It would still be nice to move the status bar back to the bottom and have the Back and Menu soft buttons, but I can live with the way it is now.
Problem number 3 is still valid and I hope someone out there knows something about it.
Thanks j8048188 (wild handle there!)
I'll check it out, but at the moment I'm now totally happy with this version of CM9 as it sits.
Started playing with this upgrade at 4:30 this afternoon and now have everything the way I want it for a while. Time to actually use it instead of hacking it!
About wifi and brightness buttons.
I don't think you really need them, as when you touch the clock a mini menu appears with sliding bars to adjust them both.
Unleashed from my Revolutionized Desire HD
I see what you mean... controls available by tapping the clock.
But that window is still two touches away before actually changing the brightness or turning the wifi on or off. While the power control bar is just one touch.
Is there any option to move the home back and app switcher buttons? I have to stretch to reach them, is there anyway to move them so they are on the side like the menu button?
Agreed. Personally I'd like to see the controls fixed to the bottom left as they are for most other tablets. Would also much prefer the status icons switched to the bottom right, where there's much more screen space to make them bigger
I agree with you. I'm a Xoom user since it came out. This is one modification of the OS that I think is a step backwards.
It's because the Nexus 10 uses the "Phablet" UI instead of a Tablet UI. Wait a few weeks for some custom Roms to come out. Someone for sure will cook something up
Completely agree... keeping in the phablet mode may be ok for 7" devices, or even in portrait mode, but in landscape mode, those buttons are not easily reached with the thumb making it very awkward
Hi,
still nothing new with moving/positioning these buttons?
Root -> flash AOKP rom mr robinson -> go to settings -> rom control-> tablet ui -> choose tablet ui
(At least , this is what i do )
Find more settings there to move wathever you want
( write a pm to mr robinson if you want more customisation in the future )

Click to collapse
I have gone to a full screen display and replaced the buttons using a combination of:
full!screen+ which removs the top and botton bars plus allows me access to notifications as a popup from one of the four screen corners
LMT Launcher's PIE to which I add the standard "home back and app switcher buttons ... etc". It can do so much more besides just that. PIE overlays any app by thumbing over a specific side of the display and auto disappears when not used. It even overlays during video playback without stopping the video.
Definitely read the documentation in the LMT Launcher post, as that and a little time trying the various options will really enhance your experience.
After using these two apps for more than a month I feel having the top and bottom bars are a waste of screen space.
I am running rooted Stock 4.2.2.
Yep there are lots of ROMs now that enable tablet UI for those who want the buttons on the left side. And some ROMs that do not have the option enabled have a tabletUI mod that can be flashed to it, like Sentinel 4.60
I know with my N5 I had constant problems with the "butt dial flashlight" and on of the reasons I got a N6 is that I wanted to eliminate that problem and indeed it was successful. Now with the 6P this morning I noticed my pocket was getting hot and I took the phone out and the flashlight was on.. How do I disable the flashlight as I never use it anyway and if you ever saw a battery sucker it is the flashlight?
Assuming you're talking about the quick launch icon in the notification shade, turn on System UI Tuner (hold down the settings gear in the shade for a few seconds and it will start to spin under your finger (hard to see). Then go into settings and at the very bottom it will say System UI tuner. You can then customize what icons are shown in the shade.
Ok what is "notification shade" .. does phone need to be rooted as I held down the settings gear for at least 9 seconds on the screen that shows things such as bluetooth, airplane mode, auto rotate, Location.. etc and I never got the setting wheel on the upper right near the percentage of battery and nothing happened, but my 6P is not rooted?
Your phone does not need to be rooted, but you do need to keep your finger very still as you're pressing on the gear icon. It took me a couple of tries.
if you have OK GOOGLE enabled...
"OK Google, turn off flashlight".
I'm serious.
You don't need to be rooted. Maybe have developer settings turned on in the first place?
"To enable System UI Tuner in Android 6.0 Marshmallow preview 3, pull down your notification shade and long-press on the Settings gear icon for up to 5 seconds. Once you let go, you should see a pop-up with the message “Congrats! System UI Tuner has been added to Settings.†And as that message suggests, you can head into settings, scroll to the bottom, and find an option for System UI Tuner."
Once enabled you will see a small wrench next to the gear icon in the notification shade.
Notification shade is the pulldown menu where you notifications appear, and where the quicklaunch icons are.
As @Zlatty said, you might need to turn on Developer Options first (but the Droid Life guide doesn't mention it). To enable this, go to Settings > About and tap on Build Number 7-8 times until it says "You're a developer!".
Will this stop it from going on or does it just shut it off once it it on?
OK I was able to access that screen and flashlight icon was pale with a diagonal line through it but all that tells me is that it is off as I did nothing to disable PERMANENTLY the flashlight that I know of ??
Yes that worked but you have to know it is on.. I want it never to go on.
@painfree Click and hold on the flashlight quick launch icon in the System UI tuner Quick Settings and drag it down to the trash to delete the icon from your Quick Settings/Quick Launch.
fury683, thank you that worked it is removed.
My auto rotate icon has disappeared from my notification panel and is missing from the available choices when I edit the list. I've cleared data from Touchwiz Home. I've re-enabled all packages (Disabler Pro) but to no avail. Any other ideas? I am not rooted.
Attached is a screen shot of my options.
Did you restart your device?
Try to turn it off and then on again. I know it sounds stupid and in most cases, it works.
Have you done right scroll, that applies to upper and lower part of available shortcuts. It should be there. But in case you're out of luck, use shortcutter app
It's a wonder what a night's sleep can do. I looked at the screenshot again with fresh eyes and am feeling really silly. "Portrait" is the option which is the other half of "auto rotate." I guess I was expecting the same icon and perhaps a more recognizable label.
Hello,
Since PIE update I have an annoying problem.
2 side bars similar to edge sidebar (when its closed) appears on my screen (see screenshots).
Theese two bars don't have any actions and can't be swiped., but make little vibrate on swipe.
The main problem is the right sidebar is too close of the send button (messages/whatsapp & messenger) and make half of it don't react (and send message on click).
Here is my observations :
- it's shown over all elements (desktop, app list, all applications)
- it's not visible on lock screen
- it don't show up in Android safe mode
I've dig for hours, and try several methods without success :
- reboot (look stupid, but must be said )
- disable the real Edge sidebar
- disable Samsung Pay
- remove autorisations for ALL apps to overlay on other apps (screenshot)
- change default keyboard (with swiftkey & Gboard)
I've turn my display to night theme to highlight these sidebar, but they're still there in day mode.
I'm now out of idea... the fact it don't show up in safe mode would orient me to app issue. But due to overlay settings no apps are supposed to being able to do this (except secure folders that can't be disabled)... I have many apps it would be painful to remove /reinstall them...
Did anyone already faces similar issue?
Any idea on how to fix it, or where to dig for?
Thanks a lot in advance for your feedbacks, any help will be highly appreciated
Benoît
I have the very same problem. By using instragram, I have noticed that I cannot click the like button when the like button is near the white bar. So I am thinking that the white bar shows where the edge of the display is disabled to block "unwanted" touch. I also find it very annoying. Help?
Resolved. Before the Pie update, I have installed here from XDA a package of various apps ported from Pie I think. I had to uninstall the one called something like "one hand +". Once uninstalled, the two bars got removed.
Ohhhh Thanks for your fix !!!!
I've dig around Good lock features yesterday, but forget this one.
Problem solved!
