[Q] Keyboard crash on MB526 - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I need some help.
I tried to find the solution for this, some thread for other phones exists, but they don't help me.
I've been running build CM10-20121205-NIGHTLY-mb526 with gapps gapps-jb-20120726-minimal on my MB526, no problems.
Then I upgraded to cm-10.2-20131030-NIGHTLY-mb526 with gapps gapps-jb-20130301-signed
Already at the first start I saw that it is bad. The Keyboard App crashing every second.
So, I fell back to the original build and gapps, but to my greatest surprise, the keyboard is still crashing, so I can't use my phone.
I tried everiything mentioned in other threads, like restore factory settings, clear cahe and Dalvik cache, Fix permissions. Nothing fixed the problem.
So, before I go on with installing other build & gapp pairs, do You know of a trivial fix? Or which build and gapps shall I use for MB526 for Android 4.3?
Thanks for the help!
br,
Laszlo

Use banks core gapps for 4.3 and 4.4. The crash can be fixed by removing latinime in recovery from system, and copying the Google keyboard apk to data, which is what I use

Hello!
OK, removing Lanitime seems to solve the problem. Also, the Banks Core gapps works fine.
Thank You for the help!

[Q] Will I loose any data if I reflash CM7.1 zip from recovery?

Hey all!
I am on CM 7.1 (11-11-11) build by Quarx.
Will I loose any data if I flash CM7.1 zip from recovery?
Sometime back I fiddled with multitouch by installing an app from market which used fo work in 2.2
That screwed up CM7, but I managed to get rid of Defy Multitouch Enabler.
Now, CM7's own implementation of changing multitouch points is screwed up and I just can't go above 2 points.
I am also having some other problems like sometimes when I pick up a call/ make a call, I can't hear anything and neither can the other person. I have to reboot to solve this issue.

For the kind of issues you refer it is better to do a clean install after clearing cache and dalvik cache.
You can have a rom backup and a titanium backup before doing above

[Q] Google Search app FC on latest Tezet ROM

Hey guys, i was using CM9 om my M2 and i downgraded it using Endless trick.
I've installed the Tezet's CM7, wiped cache, dalvik, battery stats but not data, it booted and is running normal but Google Search does not, i"ve tried wipe data + cache on app manager, unnistalled it and download a new one from market but none of it works, giving FC on start.
Can someone help me out?
Thanks for your time, in advance.

Play Store/Android Market Not Working

Hi Everyone,
I have a Defy+ with CM7.2 on it.
Every time I try to go to the Play Store, it crashes.
I have tried to delete the cache and data, which didn't really change anything.
I then tried to remove the updates and restore it back to the original Android Market, but this doesn't help.
Can anyone please suggest a way to fix this problem without having to reflash a new custom rom.
Thanks,
neiljain
If I reflash the gapps, will it solve the problem?
After system wipe, reflash gapps should work

[Q] ART problems

Hey guys,
So I decided to switch from Dalvik to ART but ran into some problems.
I installed the Omni Rom, the 5/12 nightly. And its working fine.
As for the gapps package, I used the pa-gapps full package dated 2/11/2013. I had downloaded it way back and decided that I would update the apps in the playstore anyway so why download the new package
When I switched to ART, it booted fine. Started optimizing apps, took a while but I read that it's normal. It finished and thats when the problems started. I instantly got FCs, mostly from Google Keyboard ( though I wasn't using it ) and this 'the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped working '. And EVERY time I pressed ok, it wud pop up again. it wud stop for a minute after pressing 'ok' for about 20 times. and when I opened up settings to switch back the dalvik, the same happened. I did manage to get back to dalvik though
Is the gapps package interfering with ART? Should I download the latest package and flash that when I install Omni?
Thanks
I had the same issue while using pa gapps on gnomes project kitkat! therefor gnome provides his own core apps package which is working perfectly with art.
Get the package in the thread of project kitkat:

Thanks. I'll flash these on top of my current setup first and let u know how it goes.
If it doesnt work, I should wipe everything, flash the Omni rom again and use the gnome's core gapps right?
flashed core gapps on top of the current setup. Still getting Google Keyboard has stopped working.
Will try a fresh install

[Q] Installing any app makes the phone to reboot

Hey guys.
Phone is CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4) and Paranoid Android (Android 4.4)
What happened:
Phone crashed (screen became full of colors and phone restarted). After reboot everything on the phone was gone - GApps, all my apps, save a few of like a 100. Basically a fresh CM install without GApps.
What I did was flash GApps (correct package). Everything worked fine until I've tried to install an app. Phone immediately rebooted.
I've tried wiping everything, doing factory resets, installing older CM builds, now I've even installed Paranoid Android ROM. Still the same problem persist:
If I try to install any app from Play Store or just from an apk with I file manager - phone immediately reboots. The only way I can now use it is by disabling Play Store so it doesn't start to update something
Has anyone ever encountered this?
Is this the right forum to ask?

Maybe you just need to flash gapps right after the rom. I flashed cm without gapps once and when i booted back into recovery to flash gapps my phone crashed.
Doing them one after the other is the way to go.

Thanks for suggestion, I've tried that several times, didn't help...
I had the opposite after a crash on a nexus 4 over a year ago.. phone would reboot unistalling any app wether by play store or settings/apps.
after trying everything for most of a day, the only thing that fixed it was formatting the data partition.. not wiping, there's a format data option in twrp
