I have just gotten this phone and I love it ...perfect performance and size. However I have a little issue with windows 7 64 bit and using the bp tool feature on the phone to do some changes like update manual the 3G prl file.
I tried every freaking driver known to man and none of them resolves this driver issue. again I'm windows 7 64 bit..I have download the latest and still with no luck
can someone please help me find what I need before I lose my mind...

I got them from the motorola Website and also installed what the auto start up when you connect it to the computer and neither will work.
I got mine from moto as well... Using 64x win 7 pro... Maybe do the basic trouble shooting... Reboot PC ... Alternate cable and port... Uninstall drivers... Reinstall drivers... Use a port on the back of the PC rather then the front... No hub... No extension... Stuff of that nature

I tried it again with no luck...removed all drivers from the pc...rebooted ...installed again with the latest drivers rebooted again plugged in with a brand new usb cable that came with this new phone, plugged directly back into usb 2.0 ports and still not a darn driver was installed. I wonder if motorola changed something on the Razr M as this is a brand new phone from verizon. I'm running windows Factory Windows 7 64 bit. I even tried this same thing on another computer running the same and got the same results. I tried various drivers from various websites for flashing and rooting and none of those helped either ...this has me stumbed. Issue with the phone maybe
Have your phone setup for USB debugging in settings?
I also think there's a toggle somewhere to use phone for USB or media storage.
I have Win 7 64bit at home and sometimes its finicky.
Also on your PC through System Settings I think uninstall all if your USB ports and reboot. Let your computer reinstall the USB drivers and then make sure you plug into a USB 2.0 port, not 3.0.
Not sure what brand you're using, but I know Dell can be a pita with USB drivers.

I give it another shot. I made sure usb debugging was enabled and switch between MTP and Camera with no results. I have tried on a IBM thinkpad win 7 64 bit ..dell pc win 7 64 bit and all the same results.

There is one way for installing it.
You need to have a drive from your phone something like mobiledrive (in stock 2.3 or search google for android driver)
They you go to start and type device manger.
Then you find your phone in the list and rightclick and choose install.
Go to the drive and in one of that folders there is the drivers. And install it.
Sorry for my bad english

I'm currently running a 4.2.2 ROM both on my Razr M and Incredible. Whenever I run adb devices, it will not list anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
USB is broken on 4.2 for now. Try restarting while plugged in, it may recognize it then. Make sure USB debugging is on too

Thanks for your suggestion but that is what I have been doing for most of the day before I turned to this particular forum to ask. And so far any suggestions I've found have not yielded anything positive for me. Drivers are up to date and I have version 1.0.31 of adb. Debugging has been turned on. Are you on a 4.2.2 ROM on your phone? Are you able to plug in your device to a PC and run adb devices and have your particular phone show up?

No problem. I think that's an issue with the USB drivers on the phone... Not really sure why it works when you restart but it's a minor annoyance.

So been searching and searching and really hope I don't have to put windows on my computer for this to be done. Sprint varient but I'm pretty sure some other Linux users out there are wondering the same.
Not new to xda or android. But I've always had nexus phones and was always able to use the OEM unlock in terminal. seeing how this was a free phone I said **** it. I like the phone itself but the software is ass. All the bloat is ridiculous didn't know you guys had this mucvh crap on your phones. ( nexus no bloat).
Anybody willing to point me In the right direction or we can figure this **** out together no problem hooking someone up with logcats and ****.

kidrobot52,
This is relevant to my interests.
I haven't gotten my phone yet, but root, cwm etc using Linux would be awesome. Otherwise a method that doesn't require a computer at all would be even better.
From what I've read you're going to need the drivers and they are Windows only, but if you had success doing root with your method, please describe it to us. :fingers-crossed:

So I rooted my lg on a friends PC. But is still want to know if this works. Being that ioroot also works rooting the sprint galaxy tab 3 I'm going to try and rooot it on Linux that easy if I **** up I still have my phone. Lol but if it works correctly I will unroot my lg g2 and try rooting it again in Linux. I'll report back tonight my findings.

I downloaded ioroot13.zip from the link below, and it has a linux script. :good:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/
Searching xda's forums nobody mentions that drivers are necessary for rooting with Linux.
Compass.
Well that sent new into multiple boot loops. Must've been something I did trying again. On my lg when I go into download mode it gets stuck at firmware update do not unplug USB. And stays at 0 so I'm baffled.
A side note if never needed drivers for my phone on Linux. But then again I come from nexus devices.

No need to install any driver.
However, you need to configure your system to recognize LG Phones so ADB will be able to list it
Check how to do it on android development site. Search for 'Using Hardware Devices'
Cheers

I got it working as you mentioned.
The major issue I had was that the ioroot I was using didn't detect my phone.

Indeed you don't need drivers for Linux.
I configured udev in my box to detect my phone but I'm not certain that is really necessary.
If you type "./adb devices" and get as output "<serial number> device", your phone has been detected.

I am curious as to what makes BLuetooth work in android. Are there just drivers for a particular Bluetooth hardware like drivers on a pc for a WiFi card. Trying to understand what is so different from Bluetooth functioning on 4.2.2 and not on 4.4.2. I would think that the stock 4.4.2 works just fine. What makes the aosp-cm11versions so messed up?
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
To my knowledge they are just like drivers on a PC. The way I look at it - when it comes to drivers from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 is like Windows xp drivers trying to get them to work on Windows 8. Sometimes they work with a few tweaks here and there and (if not all most of the time) they don't work.

Hello, well, i'm having a little problem here, the thing is, my Nexus 4 is not recongnize at all by the computer, any computer, i already tried another computer, another usb cable, clearing cache, reset the device, usb debugging on and off, MTP and PTP and nothing, i'm using Archlinux and i think that the problem is not the computer because the Nexus 7 (2012) is recognize just fine, i believe that the problem started with Towelroot because before that everything was ok, i can't even update the OTA for the 4.4.4 because it sends an "error" when updating. Another thing, the phone charges so that is interesting.
I'm dying here
Any solution or comment please.
Thanks.

Hello, first, thanks for answering.
Well, i'm always been stock, never tried another ROM.
I'm scared about the idea of the USB port problem, but if it's the port, why charges normal in USB? Pretty interesting.
It's working now, had to remove and install again SDK tools from the computer and reset the phone but it's solved.
Thanks a lot  :good:
