The N5 (as far as I know) doesn't come with a flashlight app and I hate the big ad bar on all the ones in the play store. Does anyone know of a decent ad app for a flashlight?

Not sure if it's ad free as I use AdAway

Droid Light is what you're looking for, no ads and no weird permissions.

The Paranoid Android light bulb app is pretty great http://puu.sh/5JUBD/Lightbulb.apk ad free and simple. Source is on AOSPA github, the above apk is from a build of PA 4.0 beta I built

I use Xposed + Gravity Box. There you can add the flash light to the quick setting panel.

Try Torch. It's so simple it doesn't even have a UI, let alone ads.

I saw a screenshot somewhere of a soft key replacement app. The soft keys were red and appeared on the middle left side of the screen. There was home, back, and recents i think and they kind of went in a circle. I tried to draw what i remember it to look like. It also looked like it had a holoish theme to it. Anyway sorry for being so vague but i don't remember anything about it. If you know what its called I'd love to know! Thanks for your help!

Is there no app that can do that? Is it only in Paranoid Android?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
ParanoidAndroid has a feature called Pie that looks like that. If you're not using PA, then you can use an app called LMT which is a similar replacement to PA Pie.

I never said it wasn't. All I said was that ParanoidAndroid had a feature that he described in the OP and if he wasn't on PA, he could use LMT (on a different ROM) which is a similar thing to PA Pie.
It's better to use paranoid rom to get it becuase on paranoid its built into the rom. If you get a app like that i believe it consumes alot of ram and everytime you kill tasks you have to run the app again.( please correct me if i'm wrong)
I came from the htc 3d and it had a great stock flashlight app. Does Samsung make a good flashlight app?
Dunno what more you need but under wigets the first page there's a wiget called assistive light. Works like a charm. ( wish it was a app also) the on/off time for the led light is extremely fast compared to all phones previous to the S4

yeah I wish we had the HTC sense 5 flashlight app modded to work for the S4, but for the time being I am using Galaxy Nexus (GN) Flashlight...its pretty good and has a decent widget.
Try that one ,you can light it up on the lockscreen by shaking your phone ,you can adjust the sensivity!!

I like Droid light by Motorola. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.dlight No options, just a 174k flashlight app. I never understood why some flashlight apps were megabytes in size when all it's meant to do was turn on a led.
Does someone know of a way to get a CM 10.x style rotation lock panel (notifications panel) that can be used with a non-CM Rom? I prefer it to other similar widgets and apps found in the Play Store.
Thanks in advance...

Hi there,
I recently purchased my nexus 7. I used to have an XDA account from years ago.
Basically, tonight I installed the AOSP ROM released for the nexus 7 on rootzwiki forums and I found that it had the normal launcher so it seemed like a jelly bean ROM with a white theme to it. Since then I discovered I was able to download and install Google Home and that enabled me to use the new UI with the transparent status bar and nav bar. So far I like it a lot. Its quite stable with a few bugs and it will get better.
And a video on YouTube of the ROM

Partially working Gapps http://d-h.st/EIM
I would add screenshots but the xda app doesn't let me

I believe it's the launcher. As you can see, the Search Bar is out of place too, I have the Google Experience launcher on my n4, and it doesn't look like that. I believe this launcher wasn't N7.2 ready.

Not a lot more I can add to the list but if you guys are interested in customisation head over to the candy shop 4.4 forum.
Also I currently have touch control and screen off running, giving me the function of knock on from LG g2 and the ability to lock from screen, so basically all gestures and no use of power button. A pretty cool feature to have in my opinion.

FYI. It doesn't sync with the atomic clock but instead is pretty much just NTP. It looks to sync with a stratum 2 server at ntp.org which is a few removed from the atomic clock. I ran stratum 0 servers for a telcom.
This is a useful tool to specify what ntp server you want to sync with but TMO, AT&T and the rest have stratum 0 servers that their handsets get time from over their respective networks.

Have tried Gsam, DU battery & circle battery (or something like that)..
all giving varying results...
and could someone suggest a good app to view what apps are currently running, how much battery/memory they using & the ability to kill them..
and perhaps kill all as well??
