Semi-Transparent/Transparent application menu while keeping original launcher

Is it possible to make the applications menu semi-transparent/transparent while keeping the original launcher? I don't like it when I press the app drawer and the app menu turns the background black.
Its something like this(in the attachments) but I also want it to be completely transparent.

If you get an alternate launcher from the Play Store like Nova or Apex, I believe there is an option in the settings to adjust the opacity of the app drawer. I don't think there is a way to do this with the stock launcher, though.

I hope to keep the stock launcher because I want to keep it original while doing some mods to it to make it look better

Unless you somehow mod the stock launcher and change the background transparency then no you can't do it. I use Nova launcher and my app drawer is semi transparent. Nova is much better than the stock launcher IMO. Maybe talk to a dev and see if they can help you out with the mod if you wanna keep everything stock.

Transparent home/back/multitask bar on PA?

Hello all,
I'm running Paranoid Android and am absolutely loving it - but I'm looking for a way to possibly make the bottom bar (back, home, multitasking, notifications, time) completely transparent.
Anybody know how?

You need a launcher like Apex or Nova that supports it.

It works on stock launcher as well. Just go to the hybrid settings, go to apps, find the launcher and set the nav bar transparency.

Just go to themes and there you'll find only one theme available, that one will give you all those things you seek in transparent!

TW Weather Widget

Wondering if i switch to Nova or Apex Launcher if there is anyway i can still keep the stock weather widget?

you should be able to. just because you are running a launcher over stock dosent mean it gets rid of your apps and widgets its just an overlay for the ui. all your stock widgets and apps should still be accessable.

Pretty sure you won't have the TW weather widget with Nova. I just tried it again and it's not there on Nova.

Nova but there are some nice 3d launchers too, though nothing is as nice to use as nova

Nova Prime - with gesture control to bring up My Magazine (or whatever app you want) with 1 swipe up from any page.

Notices any better performance with nova? Less lag, do the apps open any faster?

The launcher is silky smooth but the phone runs exactly the same on nexus 4
On the Int s3 with 1gb ram though yes apps launched faster and the phone performed better as nova uses far less ram than touch wiz and you can lock the launcher in memory for fewer redraws on low ram devices.

I've always been a fan of apex launcher. Is there any reason to pick one over the other? I like Apex's ability to make the status bar transparent and auto hide plus tablet mode with hidden dock.

I use Action Launcher for it's nice static "action menu" on the home screen and also a built in one tap search button and side slide menu for alphabetical app list(no app drawer needed)

I like Nova since it comes with the AOSP icon set and easy to change any ones you dont like, close enough to vanilla launcher for me

I like smart launcher. Very simple and organized. Looks great in tablet mode on PA ROM.

Buzz Launcher is fantastic

Huge fan of nova. Tons of customization.
I love changing the grid sizes. All my apps show at oncein the drawer I love it.

Go launcher EX for me, tons of themes.

I use TSf. After using nova, apex, and a variety of others along the way. This is best to me. Costly at $15. But it is great. No more grid pattern. No more 4x4 or whatever. It's free form like a desktop on a computer. Place icons and widgets wherever you want. Stack em on top of each other if you want. Doesn't matter. No limitation on placement. It's great.

Nova Launcher Prime! I love the gestures and tons of customization options!

I just got the full version of apex and love it. I'm in to theming and tablet mode looks awesome and goes along quite nicely with themed search bars.

Apex for me. I like being able to customize grid size and folder icons. It's also compact and fast.

How Did you get the sound search widget?
Edit: never mind I didn't realize the app was in the play store. It can preinstalled on my nexus 7 so I thought it was a nexus app.

I like the minimalist look a lot. I think I'm gonna stick with this for a while.
Looks great coming from the active notifications. And I'm all about consistency.
I hae gestures set up for Google Now, App Drawer, Quick Settings Bar, Flashlight and a few others. Plus the PIE controls, everything is pretty quick and easy.
Satisfied.

Pretty basic, I know. I got tired of changing my setup every couple days because I wanted it *just so*, so I put a pretty monochrome wallpaper on it and picked an icon pack that I liked a lot. I used Nova Launcher + Missed It for unread counts on certain icons too.
