Holo Launcher HD Folder Question - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I open up a folder that has several icons from the so called desktop view, it has now been white for about a month (give or take). It used to be black and I have tried to change it but no such luck. I've looked online and even emailed the dev but no response back. I have poked around in launcher settings and tried various settings but no luck there either. Can anyone please tell me where the setting is or how to change it back to black. I would be so greatfull I have attached screen shots.

I'd love to know how to switch it back to black as well. The new white backgrounds are awful.

I know it is an old topic, but have someone find the solution ?
Thx.

Weird blue tinge

Hey guys I don't know if there is something up with my device or this problem is standard, the thing is that my email app (not Gmail just email) and my stock browser have a weird blue tinge to them, when I switch back to some other programs or apps the colors come back to normal, the brightness on these two apps also reduce as compared to my normal settings, any help is appreciated, cheers

Those apps have their own power saving/brightness controls.
Check the settings menu when you are inside those apps. I know for sure the stock browser has its own display settings that are independent of the system settings.
Hey mate thanks for the reply, now I'm starting to get a bit worried because even before I tinkered around with anything the color changed back to its normal hue, not sure what exactly is going on

Galaxy beast - 2nd edition
Hey guys to anyone out there that is interested in what was going on, I actually found out that the power saving option on the galaxy note 2 turns the background color of the stock browser and the email and possibly a few more apps from white to a blue hue, mystery solved....... Can't add Wallpaper

After the update, my background went completely black. I tried to add a wallpaper, but my screen just stays black. My icons and widgets show, buy my background is stuck on solid black. I re-rooted and I thought I would be good to go, but nothing seems to work. I tried tinkering with settings on ADW launcher and even the stock Kindle settings, but no luck. Any idea what the problem could be?
Made a thread a few days ago about this, so far it does it on all launchers. Best thing we can do for now is downgrade.

Wallpapers are disabled at the framework level in 1.4.1.
framework-res.apk/res/values/bools.xml contains:
<bool name="disable_system_wallpapers">true</bool>
So what happens when you change it to false?

Ya, I'm having the same problem... Changing it to false might work like the previous user suggested. If anyone could try it out and see what happens and report back, it would be much appreciated.
Here's a picture of the problem, if anyone doesn't understand what he's trying to say, hope it helps...

The Google Experience .....

I haven't seen anyone really mention this if someone had I apologize. In flashing and modding my Note 3i have discovered that KitKat 4.4 is a popular topic. We now have some of the apps to flash to our devices and now we have the actual stock Android launcher from KitKat 4.4!!!!!! The Google Experience Launcher is amazing by far the best stock launcher ever and one of the smoothest I have ever used also. I have been using it for a day and after set up I am currently using it as my daily. The only thing I really don't like is that you are unable to change the icons on the home screen and there are no native gestures implemented but no big deal. Now they have implemented some major changes the app drawer now contains only your apps, widgets have their own section, you can arrange and add more home screens. Google Now is actually completely incorporated into the launcher itself and the search bar is constantly listening for you to say Ok Google to start a search using voice commands through Google Now. There are 3 apk's you will have to install to make this work they are totally dependant upon each other so if one is missing it will not open or work. I will post a link for you so you can download and give it a try for yourself I hope you guys enjoy and remember I did not create this or have anything to do with it I am just sharing it. If you brick your device it's not my fault ...

Just a heads up that you'll need to go into Google Now's language settings and change them to English UK and then back to English US for the search function to not start crashing. I actually just left mine on English UK and haven't run into any issues.

I changed the screen density to 300 in the build prop and I like the way it looks, but when I press the home button it goes to the home screen and the keyboard pops up. Does anyone know why?
Edit... If I use samsung's keyboard this doesn't happen. So I'm now happy.
Edit 2....its popping up again.

I have installed all three apps but I Dont have the always listening feature working. Is there a certain order that they have to be installed in? Any other special dependencies that need to be met? I've done the process of searching and changing laguages but not always listening working. The search works but I have to hit the button and it doesn't say "Say OK Google" to search. Any ideas?
If everything is installed and you have the launcher working just say Google or Ok Google while on the homescreen there is no special order to install the apps

Launcher is installed and works but does not respond to voice. Notice the screenshot attached and how it differs from yours...mine doesn't say "say Google to search" or whatever.
My doesn't either anymore that goes away after you use it a could of times hit the menu button> settings> and make sure Google Now is turned on

It goes automatically to Google Launcher with no Touchwiz option. A little tinkering reveals you have to clear the defaults for Google Search.

Odd home screen app placement

Well pointer location where the icon is going and "visible" icon... Happens when pulling an app from the drawer during its initial placement once its dropped its fine I can move it at will with out issue... I restored my first back up before any (besides root and twrp) modifications and this still occurs... Any thoughts... Thank you kindly for your time

im not sure i can help, but im not really understanding the issue.
are you saying, it drops the shortcut in a different location than you place it with your finger?
The white dot is my finger the light blue is where its going to be placed... Its fine when its a single icon but when trying to place a a 2x2 or larger its very hard to get it placed anywhere on the home screen

sorry, but im not sure i can even make an educated guess on that one.
it would seem to have something to do with the launcher if i had to guess, possibly your grid settings.
it either thinks there isnt enough room or there actually isnt, because of how the grid is set, and the apps you already have there.
if you cant work it out by moving some apps around to make room, or adjusting the grid settings (may not be possible on all launchers),
im not sure what else you could try.
That was my thoughts on it as well ...its the stock moto launcher... Its not doing it on nova or Apex(not wanting to lose the circle widget tho) ... I modified the apk to a 4x5 grid and minimized the dock from 82dip to 58dip which helped some allowed me to at least drop a 2x2... Thank you kindly for your input

Change email theme?

I am using the standard Samsung email app installed on the device and wondered if there was anyway to change the theme from the grey as I actually find it not very clear and easy to look at.
Thanks

You didn't provide any screen shots or a detailed description, making it difficult to give any specific advice.
Most stock apps do not allow you to change theme colours. You could search the forum to see if any Themers have modified the stock email app. Or install a third party mail app.
.
Well its the standard app so I assumed most people will have seen or used it. I just don't like the way it's grey and not white or dark.

You're making an unfounded assumption. Samsung sells tens of million S5 phones and for a variety of reasons apps like this are not the same for everyone.
.
Well my mistake then, I just thought the default Samsung email application would be the same for everyone.
Anyhow, having spent some time with it I don't think it is possible so I have looked at 3rd party apps and found one that seems to fit the bill for me.
It's called blue mail.
Just setting it up now but looks a beautiful app visually, just hope it delivers in the other areas.
