since android 4.4 transparent statusbar and softkey buttons are supported but why google OS himself don't use this new feature??? on lockscreen and OS settings, statusbar and softkey buttons are black. i can't understand why this happen. someone else?
Blame google, they have to force users somehow to buy the new nexus 5
Edit: You can easily install GEL nexus 4 with 4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529594

That`s because apps aren't yet optimized to use immersive full-screen mode API https://developer.android.com/training/system-ui/immersive.html
yes i know but why google himself don't use this API on there own apps? this is the strange question

I want to use PIE control instead. Is there some kind of build.prop mod or something that hides the nav bar?
Might be worth going for a custom ROM that has PIE. All you then have to do is switch to Expanded Desktop and there you have it!?
You'll find many ROMs that do PIE. There is also a launcher that does that, it's called LMT Launcher. You will find it here on XDA.

I don't want to flash a whole new ROM. I just want the PIE control and nav bar removal. PIE control has a Play Store app so I don't need to flash that but I know there has to be some kind of simple mod to remove the nav bar.
Ah, ok, didn't realize there was an app for it.
How about this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780970

It seems to force tablet UI, but the nav bar still remains. I know there was a way to make the nav bar appear for the Note 2 so there has to be a way to hide the nav bar for the Nexus 7.
download LMT launcher, it's been around longer than PIE has and doesn't require any specific rom...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
you can go into google playstore and search for PieControl Pro. There is a free version and a pro version for $1.99

So can this hide the nav bar?
Flash ParanoidAndroid ROM it has built in PIE navigation in Quick Settings so when you tap on it your navigation bar hides and PIE control activates and if you are worried about Tablet UI you can turn it off any time you want. =)

are you on the stock rom? not sure if LMT can hide the navigation menu. you may as well just flash any other rom since almost every other rom lets you hide the navigation menu anyways. LMT is also way more customizable than PIE.
At the end of build prop add
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Save and exit, I don't believe it works on stock rom though but I could be wrong.
I use this on roms that don't have it built in navbar hide built in, and I use lmt launcher, because I prefer it to pie.

I was gonna say the same thing...ive been using that for about a week now, im diggin it, tho i like cyan a lil better(my droid 4)...the pie menu is amazing, ability to move it to either screen edge, change the colors and buttons...pretty sweet, smooth rom
I am on a Paranoid Android port at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502789
Google Experience Launcher using this method:
http://phandroid.com/2013/10/31/download-and-install-the-new-google-experience-launcher/
Transparency works (has slider for transparency) on default launcher that came with the ROM in App section of Paranoid Android App specific settings under "Color". The code is "00FFFFFF" for the transparent color
Trying to repeat the same steps for the New "Google Experience" Launcher there is no slider so I try and manually input "00FFFFFF". I press the check mark, press home, and its still black.
What am I doing wrong? Or can it even support transparency? What doesn't make any sense is that it is transparent on the Nexus 5 by default..
Hi,
Is anyone using the new Google experience launcher (on KitKat 4.4), if so when you rotate the device so the home screen is in landscape mode do you have the top row of app icons hidden under the Google search bar.
I have cleared data and cache for the launcher and Google search app (the two apps needed for the new launcher) but still have the problem.
The search app is the official update from the play store and the launcher app I sideloaded.

I've been getting this issue as well. I believe in landscape mode, the search bar is not supposed to be visible (or at least not supposed to be a bar) and to fit in with the animation, it is supposed to glide off the top of the screen.
But I wouldn't know how to fix this.

Give us the icon!
For the navigation bar icons you could use a new Xposed Module called Android L Navigation bar, works excellent
also, you can use the Android L preview Keyboard (no root needed) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?hl=es&id=uk.co.shenye.android.inputmethod.latin
Thanks for the link to the L preview keyboard. I have tried it on my 1st gen Nexus 7. It works fine, I tested it using English and Spanish. I have spent an hour going to and fro between the 4.4.2 keyboard and the L. I can find no difference in the swipe response, keyboard responsiveness etc. The L keyboard is missing the long press functions ie. long press "g" gets the "&" etc. I happen to use the long press functions quite a bit so the L keyboard is a disappointment in this respect. It looks l like the L keyboard is just a cosmetic change ATM. Maybe the final official release will get more improvements? A minor fault that I found that is the default keyboard color scheme cannot be changed, it's a minor detail. But I wanted to try changing the color scheme because the English/Spanish info in the space bar is very feint and harder to see on the standard L color scheme. The L "look" is cleaner, more Apple like, but I have decided to revert to using the 4.4.2 AOSP version.

No, you can change icons with nova launcher. Long press on an app on your homescreen and choose "edit". Then touch the current icon to choose a new one.
Bootanimation - https://mega.co.nz/#!Vx02xbhR!kZ2kfLxmgccUcxCEWMaDraOLKm1FyXSpwQ64v0iqWcY
Not a flashable zip
Backup and replace the original bootanimation.zip in /system/media/
Change the permission like the original one - rw/r/r
tinted status bar
To replicate it more you can install a xposed framework module called 'tinted status bar'. This allows your status bar adapt the color of the action bar, though android l uses a darker color for status bar compared to action bar. And yeah, you need root access!

There's a new xposed module which allow you to set the New Android L softkeys much easy. See screenshot.

Try this paid icon pack , it's as close as possible to the L icons
For anyone wanting to make the stock ASUS Launcher look a bit more like stock Lollipop, I found an icon pack called LolliPop Colored on the Play Store. Applied via the icon packs setting in the launcher, it doesn't do anything other than change the wallpaper and app drawer icon. I then use the standard Nexus blue wallpaper.
You can get the same result by using the Google Now launcher. Plus it's an official app. You'll also get the "Okay google" function from any screen using this launcher instead.

Sure you can use google now, or nova or apex. That's not the point. For various reasons some people, myself included, want to use the stock Asus launcher. This is just a way to have it slightly nearer in appearance to stock lollipop's material design. Oh, and "OK Google" from any screen is available in the stock launcher too - it's an option in Google settings.

Sorry, I don't know how to share links for google play store apps (there's no sharing option like there is on apple app store). But if you search "LolliPop Colored theme" it will be top of the search results (it's by Alper Selzer)
I installed xposed framework yesterday. Using gravitybox module to activate softkeys (and expanded desktop so that can hide them again easily). Then used Xstana module to change the ASUS softkeys and status bar icons to Lollipop style. With WM Density changed to 270 (on my 550) I now have the stock ASUS Launcher just how I want it
Im still not root but i envy those navigation bars
guess have to get one too hehe
iphone
Now we can easily get iphone looks without any file, in latest ASUS launcher.

Because you have ASUS Apps on your ZenFone 2, not Google Apps.
Nova launcher with glim icon pack
I have all Google app installed I think.
What do you mean by Google App ?
Asus say me to see whith Google but Google says me to see whith ASUS.
Thnaks for your help.
What apps' icons are you talking about? If you mean things like settings, dialer and downloads, then you have ASUS versions instead of Google/AOSP, so the icons are different. Using Google Now launcher won't change those icons.
