Anybody else have this problem? I try to do a full cycle charge and keep my phone off for the full charge cycle but it always just boots up after a couple minutes, really annoying...

Wireless charging or with the plug? Not sure the reasoning behind it, but with the wireless charging my phone boots up. With the plug it will stay off. Guess this probably only applies if you have the Verizon variant, which it doesn't look like you do.

No with the plug, just regularly charging it while its off, idk why it always turns on

Mine seems to only want to charge to 66%. Suggestions?
maybe try powering the tab down and see if it will get the rest of the way there?
Hadto cycle between on and off charging.

Were you using the outlet that came with the tablet or a different plug?
I noticed that when I used a samsung plug from my nexus S it would charge to 66% but using the plug in the box would charge to 100%.
For the last two days, my Nexus 4 has been charging weirdly. I leave it to charge overnight and when I wake up its at (usually) 78%. When I go to the battery stuff in the settings it switches between charging and not charging. It's back and forth. Has anyone seen this?

I've seen this on mine when connected to a computer. I was using a 10ft cable from Monoprice.
When using shorter cables it worked fine. Might just be a bad cable.

I`m using the stock charger and cable....never had problems till yesterday
I'm also using stock cable and charger. I used a tooth pick and pushed lightly the shelf to the left. It seems to have worked. If it does it again I'm rmaing.

Any idea about how to charge it, then? Do I need to buy another or just use a spare charger?

Hi all,
Have anyone encounter the nexus 4 charger emit noise when the phone is fully charged?
But when I turn the phone screen on, the noise will be gone and back again when the phone screen is off.
Thank you.

Can you reproduce this with a video?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Maybe it's a feature?
Hmm.. Will try to take a video. Doesn't seems like a feature. It produce some high pitch sound. When I switch off the power, the phone screen will take some time to wake up, normally it should auto wake up immediately as what I observe from nexus 7.

I realized that the original charger when charging makes the device hot and slow.
But i have a galaxy tab 10.1 charger that keeps it cool and charge fast

My Two cents
I don't own a nexus 4 but mine dies the same exact thing. Usually when the battery is full. My guess is the phone is rejecting the charge. But when You turn the screen on, the charger powers the screen and possibly the speakers, so it stops.

Have you got a old Xperia sitting around? Bring them to us!
Thanks for the comments. I hope my charger don't fail on me. Just want to confirm did anyone use a nexus 7 charger to charge nexus 4? I read through forum, though the nexus 7 using 2A than nexus 4 1.2A. The phone will charge fine without damaging the battery or the phone, since it only draws the amount of charges needed.

Charger buzz not only when fully charged, but the whole cycle
I was charging the phone via the wallport adapter starting around 14%. A few minutes in the charge indicator/icon flicker on and off and I get all these "Low Power" warning spam.
I try to change cables but the phone power level just dropped from about 13% to 0% in less than a minute. After plugging in a different cable the phone is charging fine now.
What exactly happened? My friend mentioned the cable might be damage and something short circuited. Should I be concern about damages to the battery?
Comments are appreciated,
Thank you

Sounds like your previous charging cable broke.

I take it you were using the stock charger. It's junk. I replaced mine a few months ago and haven't had an issue.

Interesting, which adapter are yer using now?

I had the same problem except my battery percentage never went to 0. The charging would flicker on/off then the battery percentage would slowly go down/stay the same/or charge extremely slowly. I switched to a different charger and haven't had a problem since. The LG one is bad. I'm using the stock LG cable with the new charger now.
My phone doesn't power on unless I connect it to a charger. As soon as I unplug the charger it shuts down. Without a charger it gets stuck in boot loop. The phone had no issues for a year. It suddenly started acting funny this morning.
Are you running a custom ROM on your device?
No. I have stock rom. I just factory reset my phone in recovery mode.

Have you replaced the battery yet?

Repacing the battery solved my issue. But I fail to understand what caused my battery to go bad? I have never left it plugged in for more than the required time as it already has a fast charger.

They go bad over time. Most li ion are only good for 600-1000 charges and then they start to fail. Some fail catastrophically. I leave mine plugged in overnight every night, use fast charge, wireless charge with an adapter, leave it in the hot sun and in the freezing cold - basically really hard on them. I just plan to replace them on a 6 month or so cycle. That's why I don't like non replaceable batteries. Had that on my nexus 5 and it died a slow death.
