Can you explain?
Light effect? You mean the Torch when you hold Volume up?
I use Echo Rom with Exposed Framework (Fully Customisable)
Or the effect you get when you move your hand over the screen and it lights up with Time and Notifications??
Settings / Controls / Motion Controls / Air Gesture - Turn on Quick Glance

Just like the effect u have it on s4... i think its called lens flare...

For some reason samsung decided to disable it for any wallpaper, so if you activate a live wallpaper in any samsung rom it will remove either the ripple effect or the watercolor and put the lens flare one, but you cant put it with standard ones

If have tried... thanks and got the lens effect...

sloved.... very strange about these effects.... I tried to d/l some live wallpapers and gonna live with it... but strangely the live wallpaper just disappear and my own wallpaper showed up with light effect lockscreen... I think its a bug and hopefully wont get it removed....

Yeah, me neither. I guess Samsung forgot to include the light effect on the latest KitKat version.

For those of you who use ADW

Hey guys just a quick question about ADW...im having some problems when trying to add a picture frame widget. When I choose the photo I want and then I have the option to resize it,,instead of 2X2 I want to make it 4X2 however when I do that it still comes out to 2X2 but it takes the space of a 4X2. Now, I had no problems doing this with my Nexus One..so is it possible that its a 1.6 problem? or am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks
When you change the space settings the widget stays the same size, just has a kind of invisible border.

Right, thats exactly what happens....but before on my Nexus the picture itself would be bigger no invisible border. Why wont it work now? is it 1.6? Thats what Im trying to figure out
I don't think it's anything to do with ADW... It's the SE implementation of the picture frame widget I believe...
Is there maybe a better picture frame program in the market?

Yeah I found a pretty cool one called Turtle photo frame.... problem is is it causes ADW to FC as soon as you add the widget. So I'm still on the hunt lol

Some (although few) widgets actually stretch or shrink depending on what size you make them, however, try the 'Auto Stretch' option in ADW which may stretch widgets which normally wouldn't

(REQ) application monitor widget

After changing stock Optus rom to unbranded Australian firmware I lost the dark coloured application monitor widget and gained an ugly blue one. So if anyone has the dark coloured one could you please send me the apk.

I liked it matching the assistive light. I guess I'm picky and like it looking symmetrical. Wish they were both 75% transparent tho. That would make it look awesome.

Try out XBackground Xposed Module
I didn't test it yet on our device but I was going to do the same once I had time and backups ran
I think I must be the only person that actually likes the white dialer.

This works on most backgrounds, but then the text is unreadable.
I tried RocketDial - horrible. Had a one second delay after each key press.

You can try an xposed theme if you haven't already. Some of these will change the dialer. It will also theme other stuff so that may be good or bad depending on your taste.
If interested, check the xtheme thread in the Android Theme section.
Tried xtheme. Works for system menus and what not but not dialer. thanks for the suggestion

There are a few xthemes that changed my dialer - Simplicity, Simplex, Gem Flat.
Maybe these don't work for everyone though.

I think it's that some people like light colors and some dark and it does show through the clothing you wear day to day. I prefer dark colors on my phone.

Change kitkat lockscreen wallpaper?

Jellybean allowed you to change either lockscreen or home wallpaper. Now kitkat changes both at once it doesn't ask which one you wanna change, or am I completely missing it? I Googled it and can't seem to figure this out -.- this is on Beanstalk on my s4, girlfriends Verizon s3, and friends att s3. so I know it's not just me lol.

Its not intuitive at all. I installed a theme and then couldn't get rid of the lockscreen wallpaper. A theme can override your normal wallpaper by setting a lock screen wallpaper. To fix this you need to go to settings -> themes -> lock screen wallpaper -> clear
Took me awhile to figure this out. Hope it helps someone else.

[Q] Is there a way to control the screen's saturation?

Is there a way to control the screen's saturation without having to go back to Samsung's ROM?
The screen is really over-saturated and unnatural. I'm used to the "Movie Mode" that comes with Samsung's ROMs.
I'm using CM11 (4.4). Not sure which exact ROM it is because I've installed it using CyanogenMod Installer and then updated it from the phone.
I'm guessing not. Thanks for the help everyone.

I think no one has answered because its a silly question.
In your phones display settings there is an option called screen mode, this changes screens saturation.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium HD app
No unless if someone ports CM colours
EDIT: I believe that there is a market app that adds a filter to make it seem less saturated if that is what you were looking for

You're kidding right?
It's in the settings of Stock Samsung ROMS!
Screen mode is in settings and you can choose between various modes which CHANGE YOUR SATURATION!
it can also be done on many many AOSP ROMS and custom kernels.
So YES the answer is YES YOU CAN
