I've fixed mine now from the index service crashing it every minute.
I used a USB card holder to copy my card to then formated my SD & put everything back on one folder at a time.
Once the folder causing it was identified I removed that folder then put small groups of files from it back on until phone froze again & that way I eventuality identified the file causing it.
The culprit was a 2.74mb .PDF file that contained text & pictures.
(That file had been on a Note 2 & a Note 1 before that with no issues.)

I'm not sure which fixed it, but I deleted a couple files that were >200MB (as recommended in other posts), and I froze it in Titanium Backup. I haven't had a problem in a couple days. Knock on wood. Hope that helps someone.
Got the phone today. I noticed one thing that the capture during video functionality wasn't working at all.
I have a Redmi 1S as well. When i compared, the capture button during the video doesn't show up at all. Both for the rear and front cameras.
I am recording the videos at 1080p for both the cameras. Tried 720p as well. The issue persists. Please help.

There's a Update to that version already available on official site, as well on the OTA.
go to settings and about, then run system update when on WI-FI, and it would give you a update named
"miui_H3WGlobal_JHDMIBH38.0_59e44d8bab_4.2" of 555MB to download.
The file would be downloaded to phone memory under folder "downloaded_rom" and make sure you copy this ZIP file to PC
as after installation this file will get self destructed, so if you have a friend whom you wish to share this update you must copy it to PC.
or if you mess with something later, this ROM update would let you restore your phone.
You can install it from system update by touching the option button and chose "select update package" browse for this downloaded file and phone would reboot to complete the update.
Once done, you would certainly see improvement in phone working and more RAM would be available for apps etc.
However real fun of using this would start when this phone gets updated to any of the kitkat/CM12/Lollipop versions.
Hi!
Trying to transver pics and video over USB from my 6p to a HP laptop running Win7.
Problem is when I connect cable and chose file transfer on the phone I only se 80 or 90 of my over 2000 files in the DCIM folder on the phone (which I can see with ES file explorer on the phone)
Tried on another PC with same result.
Tried numerous reboots.
All stock on latest Android 7 OTA.
Thanks for any help on this!
Problem solved. Sort of. Mapped to my nas-drive w ES and moved the files over wifi. Took a while but got it done. Doing a full reset to try to fix battery life and stuff. Hopefully the usb will get sorted too.

I figure out a work around that's quick and easy.
Here's a work around that I figured out which worked for me:
1. Install the QuickPic app.
2. Take a Screenshot to ensure a Screenshot folder has been created by the system.
3. Open QuickPic, navigate to the Camera folder, press and hold one image to select it then from the option in the top corner use Select All.
4. Use the options again to Move.
5. Move them all to the Screenshot folder.
6. Go to the Screenshot folder, select all, and move them back to the Camera folder.
When you connect your phone to your computer, they should now all be visible in the Camera folder. If not, move them all back to the Screenshot folder and get them from Pictures/Screenshots rather than the DCIM folder.
I had the same issue found the below in another android forum. It worked for me.
it is necessary to clear the cache of two different apps - "External Storage" and "Media Storage". To do this, you have to select System->Apps, then tap the three vertical dots in the upper right hand corner, then tap "Show System" and now the Android system apps are shown along with all your other apps. For both apps ( "External Storage" and "Media Storage".) tap "Storage" (not a button, just a text field), then you will see the buttons to "Clear Data" and "Clear Cache". Do both and reset the phone. It will take a few minutes for all the files to appear, as the phone caches the configuration.
Only use my Note 3 to play audio and video files.
Recently noticed some video files missing on a 64GB exFAT mSD card.
1st thought they had been deleted by Note 3.
Just did a chkdsk scan and everything OK. Have a screen capture of this but do not know how to attach.
Additional Info: My Note 3 has stock Android 4.4.2 (KitCat) and never rooted.
Am Open to all suggestions how to correct this problem.
Hey I might can offer some assistance. BUT IM A FRESH NEWBIE TO THIS. I MEAN I JUST STARTED REALLY MESSING WITH MY PHONE 2 DAYS AGO. First what type of note 3 do you have? (ie. Sprint=SM-N900P) do you have service on your phone? Do you have any experience with custom ROMs?
SurageBook said:

I hope not as this is not the Sprint model forum .
OP i would copy data off then full format sd card as a starter .
Damaged files look in the Lost Files folders .

SurageBook "what type of note 3 do you have?" Verizon "have service on your phone?" No "Do you have any experience with custom ROMs?" No
JJEgan "...i would copy data off then full format sd card as a starter." Agree did copy the wanted data.
As previously mentioned have used Windows longer than Android so used chkdsk to examine & fix the mSD Card. Everything was OK and all the missing files were shown and Not damaged,
Since posting I backed up all the wanted data and then put the mSD card back in my Note 3. All the missing files were there and undamaged. Can anyone explain this?
From experience most Windows users reload the OS every few years.
Am wondering if I should Factory reset my Android 4.4.2 OS?
Any recommendations?
Man if you just use that phone for a media device just create a backup of your phone, SD card, and copy it to your PC then install custom ROMs until you find one you like and root that bad boy. My note 3 is my primary phone with service and I have about 10 custom ROMs on my SD card that I switch every couple of days. Earlier today I was on Havco OS 2.8 android 9 now I'm on some rom that when it turns on theres a pink unicorn and its on android 7. Its easier than you think. Things you need are 1. TWRP(for your phone model) 2. Odin(on PC to flash things to your phone*optional) 3. Custom ROM 4. magisk(to root your phone) 5. Gapps (for the android version that's on the custom rom*optional) 6. Enjoy
SurageBook Thanks for the tips!
Do you know if any good tutorials concerning how to root the Verizon version of Note 3?
I don't know about Verizon I'm on sprint but if you go to the Verizon section you'll find a guide for your firmware. https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3/general
Please guys post in the forum for your phones .
Otherwise i see a reply on here not your models leading to a bricked phone .

Also is it possible to post screen captures?
