My D801 produces a new wifi MAC address every time I reboot.
The only parts that remain the same each time are 00:90:4C (the manufacturer, apparently, "EPIGRAM, INC."
Out of sheer boredom, I rebooted the phone four times while typing this and created four new MAC addresses. Not only did I think this was illegal and a violation of the standard, I also thought it to be impossible without serious hacking.
This is a problem, as I can't assign my phone a static IP on my network when my MAC address is somehow dynamic.
I am running CM 10.2 and my kernel version is 3.4.0-d801-custom-05-cm [email protected] #1 downloaded from the Original G2 Development threads.

I scoured the threads, and while I noticed that others complained of the same issue (even just today) people didn't seem to have it fixed. I am running the latest build of CM 10.2 stable, and they claim the issue was fixed before that even came out. Very confusing.
I understand the confusion. Best to report it in cm thread that after a clean install on a supposedly fixed rom it wasnt fixed on your phone.
some had a workaround with a mac spoofer software. that or return to stock is all I can think of.

It reboot mainly when i try to make calls with low signal, something while i look at the emails, now i installed k9 mail client instead of the android gmail app, but it does the same.
I can't understand if it does it since i updated it to the last firmware x.x.x.87 or since i rooted it and put gingerblur 3.5... but i don't think this is the point, i doubt something hardware is bad... or software problem?
Help!!!! I love this phone but it lacks somewhere...
There have been several threads about this issue, SEARCH them out. Also, there is a good chance You are not experiencing true reboots, but graphical shell crashes.

I have heard it is atrix related and has nothing to do with roms... Could be wrong though.

Well not everybody has the problem so the people must have a bad batch, also reflashing can possibly remove software as a cause.

I'm running CM7.1 (Nightly Build) and have been experiencing issues with purchasing music from the Android app. Free songs seem to work fine, but to purchase music, Google servers are returning a 500 error. Perhaps this is caused by missing parameters on the device end?
I've been able to purchase music via the website as suggested on various other sites, but simply accepting the TOS didn't resolve the issue. Here's what I see in logcat:
BasicNetwork.performRequest: Unexpected response code 500 for https://android.clients.google.com/fdfe/purchase
[1] CheckoutPurchase.onErrorResponse: DisplayErrorMessage[Error retreiving information from server.]
[1] CheckoutPurchase.setError:type=UNKNOWN, code=-1, message=Error retreiving information from server.

Q&A sections work well when you want a question answered.
But seriously, here's a link to a thread somebody started a few days ago. In that thread there's a link I posted to a Google bug tracker, in case you were looking for something a little more official. Seems like the problem is slowly starting to get fixed according to the Google page.
Hope that helps.
if you constantly flash your atrix and use google music each time.....u have to de-authorize your device after flashing 8 times....check it out....if that is the reason...

Thanks for pointing that out. I haven't actually gone back into my Music settings on the website for quite sometime. I had 6 devices listed.
Not sure if that's the root of the problem. Even with 6 devices I was able to get my purchases working properly. Although, I'm sure it won't hurt to get rid of any old ones that might be on there just to be on the safe side.
Dang... I know better than to post in general too. TX
Can a moderator move this to Q&A? If preferred, I'll repost.

Looks like it's working now. I did try to De-Authorize it early yesterday.
Today, it works as expected. Looks like that may have been the issue.

Hi,
Has anyone who has updated to 4.2 tried connecting to a wifi network protected by leap, I am unable to connect since the update, I know my credentials are still correct and valid as my sensation on 4.03 are connecting still.
Thanks Andi
About to find out.
EDIT: I'm on my work network right now and LEAP is working fine. I used the factory image to update after the ota borked maps and the network location provider.

Same issue happens to me .... unresolved
Hi!
same issue has been seen on my Nexus 7 since OTA update to 4.2.
Ii is also same that my credentials are still collect because my another device, Galaxy-S, is working fine thru leap authentication.
I used "Leap WiFi" from Google Play to set credentials.
Looking forward hearing some hints to solve this.

Thanks for letting me know, I wonder if we have slightly different implementations on our networks as I can see someone else is having the same issue as me.
Just discovered the same issue, will probably put off updating my Gnex to 4.2 at this rate.
My N7 now won't connect to my work's network. I've reached out the developer of LEAP Wifi Free to see if they will investigate.
same here
i'm also trying to connect to the company network after updating to 4.2 using the incremental zip file via adb
the credentials are correct, as I could log in with them using my old Atrix 4G and my collegue's Nexus 7 still on 4.1.2
I'll try to get into our office tomorrow and perform a factory reset (however I doubt it would help)
I've been getting some problems too, when connecting to college network. My best guess would be the new file structure on 4.2 is the problem why many things are broken...

a factory reset won't solve it.authenticating with a network needing LEAP credentials is still failing
I can confirm LEAP being broken on Nexus 7 with stock 4.2
How about pimping the gui whilst your on this google ? We have to use custom apps to achieve basic functionality for years now...
Confirm my N7 3G on stock 4.2.1 has LEAP wifi broken. Tried Leap Wifi, still no luck.
Why is Google so reluctant to officially support Cisco Leap? Before 4.2 update, you have to hack config file to get connection, meanwhile LEAP has been supported very well day back to my still owning iphone 3G. And in IOS you just don't care what kind of technology is used (WPA, WEP, how can normal user understand such terms?), just enter necessary information, normally just pwd, or user+pwd for LEAP, and that's all.
Broken also on S3, 4.1.2 official firmware. Weird, anybody got a workaround?

Hiya,
not that I have found so far, it is very annoying!
I have been using LEAP at work every day since I got my n7. No problems at all. I think it might be a good idea to post the settings to see if there is something you're doing differently.

Xda is not a place for rudeness we are here to help each other before you get on your high horse and waste the effort of creating a patronising video of how to use google. This reason for my post is because this is a specific problem with the elk4 leak. If you read the other threads you would have seen others have tried agps and it still does not work. Hence my post.

1. Rudeness citation, please;
2. It is not a video it is a webpage based service created fot peoples who are unable to use search button in XDA forum or at Google, therefore, although I like your way of thinking, there is no high horse on the horizon, sorry. But... my concerns about your ability to use the patch are even bigger now, as you have thought it is a video created especially for you...
3. If you have specific problem, it would be better place for it, namely: Q&A, just below the general section of forum.
Last but not least: I have read ALL cited by me thread. No single comment about non working with your ROM, therefore, if you're giving such statement, provide link to the post, please.
You should have post this in Q&A section. Anyway I think it's kernel related just flash Siah kernel see if it's fix your problem but Siah kernel isn't fully compatible with this ROM yet so it will break your video recording.

Well this would make it one. This particular firmware gps problem is not related to whatever patch does, therefore it is not solved by a patch. Now if someone has idea or solution.... Doubt it anyways, and since I'm depending heavily on navigation for my work, back to lj5 patiently waiting for jkay, till next leak and next round of testing.
Testing JKay alpha on GT-I9300
Just noticed gps problems today, is there a fix? I previously didnt wipe. But flashed again full wipe. Not tested yet.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I can confirm that this worked for me today:
I had just installed Omega 33, and was trying to use GPS to navigate, but was not getting a good on my location (although I seemed to have a certain amount of accuracy to my position). I turned the GPS off and on again, and what little accuracy present went away and I never got the GPS lock.
I used the app known as "Fasterfix" from the play store. It needs root privileges in order for it to modify the "GPS.conf" file.
I live in India. Hence I chose my server as Asia-> India (it sets it to in.pool.ntp.org or something like that). There was no need to reboot. After this, I was successfully able to navigate without any problems.
Try it out and let me know whether it works.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
My problem was never getting a fast lock, it was holding onto it. When I would press navigate i would drive certain distance and would notice my position is few streets behind, then would get prompt gps lost, never to return. Turn off gps toggle, turn on later, aquire lock. Rinse and repeat.

You are saying the aGPS patch works, although from what I have read it's a completely unrelated problem, please show me it worked. If there is already a fix posted you should be straight linking it with a "please use the search next time" that's a helpful post.
And do you even know the problem, have you ever looked in the leaked firmware thread, I barely see you (checking the forums multiple times every day) and when I do see you your posts are rude, with absolutely no intelligence what so ever.
Did someone try to reflash the modem?
I can't try it right now, I will do it later and report.

Still, your heaven-reaching intelligence is unable to provide link to citation that this patch is not working? Well, ok, you may be busy learning how to distinguish between web page and video...
Finally, I have no time to look on the forum several times per day, as I have plenty other things to do, for example to drive somewhere using SGS3 as SatNav device, which is (comparing crappy chipset as SGS 1 with brilliant chip at SGS3) - just a pleasure.
Therefore, sorry but I will disappoint you in the future as well.

Hey guys, I have a problem with my CM nightly. It's the first one I flashed so I haven't upgraded from another nightly. I can't seem to get mobile data to work, it's stuck at roaming. Rebooting, changing the data settings, nothing fixes this. I've tried airplane mode on/off, setting APN (it was already set as it should), booting without a SIM, reflashing my CWM recovery and CM nightly multiple times, older nightlies... I can't think of anything more I could do and I'm about to give up. Any ideas? I live in Scandinavia if that's of any help.

I don't think your APN settings are correct.
I had to add 1 line to mine to get it to work properly. It all looked fine but then I noticed just 1 setting had been reset.
Have a good thorough look over every single setting and make sure you're not missing one.
