I verified the integrity of the download by verifying the MD5 tag.

is this the only rom youre having the issue with or did you purposely exaggerate the post?

Phone has not got the official samsung stuff on it.

I have tried Omega Rom aswell, so in all just 2 Roms. However
I have attached the pic of my phone status in Recovery mode. It seems like though the phone was brand new, it was rooted from the guy i bought it from.
Any thoughts?

Can't see your Attached picture.

Is there some sort of threshold on XDA of how many posts I need to cross to be able to post a pic?

It's just not shown up is all, sometimes they don't upload properly. Re try and see if it works.

Can you try to odin back to stock, then factory reset and try over again? If this happens to 2 roms, the exact same issue, i honestly doubt it's a bad download

Stock rom
Polish_Pat - Where am I able to get the stock ROM from, would the version of the stock ROM matter?
Radicalisto - I doubt the download had anything to do with it as I had verified the link via MD5 ... google it.

You're not going to believe this but somehow it's become uprooted again according to SuperSu and Rootchecker. It was rooted as I'd checked after successful installation but it's reverted back to unroot status?!

Ahh now this is an issue I had on my HTC one previously, reboot and it'll be rooted again, then change permission to always. Not sure why it does this but was identical on my One.
The only downside is you have to be a bit more careful with which apps you install as you have to set grant always in SuperSU. - I don't know any alternative currently, but if anyone reading knows please chime in

It could be the version of SuperSU though, actually thinking about it. It more than likely is, can you change it?

The version I have is the most up to date one, should I install the former version?

Try an older version, if no good it may mean a complete reformat/wipe - back to basic stock and try again. Painstaking process I know :/

If you are fine with factor reset, you could try that. IIRC, formatting the internal sdcard helped me once. Factory reset might be the best option but you need to decide if losing data is worth it

I dont understand what the problem is. If i do a factory reset the device status becomes normal in settings. Then i reboot to check status in download mode, and it is official. All fine.
But then i reboot my phone, check status again and suddenly its modified. What can i do to fix this?

Stock recovery. I have flashed the stock official indian rom. I dont understand how does it change from normal to modified. Weird.
Anyways trying steps mentioned by chainfire to see if they work.
Here they are:
- Use Triangle Away to reset the flash counters, and pull the battery immediately after rebooting starts
- Boot into recovery and perform a wipe, and pull the battery immediately after rebooting starts
- Go to SamMobile and get the stock firmware for your region
- Flash that stock firmware on your device
- Let Android boot, go through device setup (without doing any logins) until Android is fully usable again
- Reboot
- Wait at least 10 minutes
- Check Settings->About device->Status and make sure Device status is not "Modified"
- Perform another factory reset
- Boot into download mode and make sure the flash counter and system status are all set to official
Some of these steps may require further info, if you can't figure it out, do some more searching, or ask people who aren't me
Ohh thamks do i need to change csc to india also ??

can we flash this zip from samsum's stock recovery by selection update from external sd card. The Zip file included following files.....(screenshot attached).
I have read somewhere on sammobile you can flash with recovery, but i have practically never did it. and have no idea about it. You can flash it at own risk.
But you must be on stock ROM( I think only on full stock DDLR6). Other thing this update contains Kernel, and by that way putting device on unsafe kernel. and yes wiping will be dangerous too.

Wiping on stock kernel without CWM is apparently safe.
Wait for sammobile or CheckFus to upload the entire Rom. It's better to flash then lest one might get bricked following incorrect procedure.

It is probably safe (said by entropy). So i dont like to advice still.
and after flashing device may not boot properly then you have option to wipe is CWM only.
Otherwise have to follow routine procedure.

Yes you should wait. even sammobile also saying this
This section is specially for the die-hard Samsung owner.

If you dont know what to do with these files, you probably shouldn't touch them.

other thing this upate having kernel (and may be without recovery, and so i guess if you have non stock recovery won't work any more), so it will leave you unrooted (i still doubt it work on rooted), and on unsafe kernel.
so there are full chances to mess device if you are just away from base ROM(DDLR6)
In sort, leave this for Flashing maniac only. and routine user should wait for regular update,.
will they release LR6 with update integrated ?
this update looks interesting .....

[Q] Firmware update failed, Wi-Fi and sound doesn't work (GT-I9505)

Hello,
First I must say, that I'm not English native speaker, so sorry for any language mistakes.
I have a pretty serious problem with my Galaxy S4 LTE I9505. I downloaded the latest official ROM for my model (I9505XXUBMGA_I9505OXXBMG3_XEO) from SamMobile and I wanted to flash it via Odin 3.07 (previously I had CyanogenMod 10.2). But during the flashing process Odin give me "FAIL".
After that my phone was showing downloading screen with this information:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9505
CURRENT BINARY: Sansung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
SW. REV: CHECK FAIL: fused: 2, Binary: 1
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Click to collapse
Of course I was trying Emergency Recovery option in Kies, but it was failing all the time. I also was trying to flash it again, but Odin again shows me "FAIL" during the process. So I choose re-partition with PIT file and stock, branded ROM (I9505XXUAMDE_I9505PLSAMD8_I9505XXUAMDE_HOME). And it works, now I can boot my phone and original recovery without any problems, but unfortunatly I can't enable Wi-Fi module and any function that needs sounds just don't work (phone calling, system sounds, notifications etc.). Kies don't want to update my OS from stock, branded version to newest one (error while updating device). I also tried this on different PC, but it's always showing "FAIL" in Odin.
What should I do to get back to stock firmware? Right now I can only send text messanges and use internet via carrier data plan...

You can install the any stock rom that ends on H8

You will not have root access anymore and are stucked with unremovable annoying system apps...
But thats the price to pay to have your phone back. I was phoneless for 3 days because of this. I'm happy to be still alive, but also wondering if live without root is worth it..

You gotta be really careful with HK Note's as they're set up different to the normal one.
Flashing stock 4.4.2 is a nightmare, you will get Ext4 errors. -- Then you need to root and install a custom recovery to fix your issues.
You need to get your PIT file, if you fail flashing normal stock, then you need to re-partition with your PIT file and flash a clean firmware on it. There is quite a bit around XDA about it, ad you really would need to read up on all the methods or you will find yourself in a tricky situation especially if you wish to preserve KNOX (PS if you have a HK Note then you're not under warranty anyway as it's an import so KNOX doesn't mean anything to you unless you are using it for the secure container. Plus UK law around KNOX isn't too bad if it is tripped)
Good luck, if you get super stuck come back and we'll see what we can do
2nd link in my signature.
Follow it till point 6.
Then flash UK ROM.
Thanks. .. If it's as easy as you say I will give a try on Sunday....

Do I need to / should I wipe anything before flashing? If so how do I do that?

Hi,
I've recently had the misfortune of trying to put 4.4.2 Poland onto my HK N9005 and I am getting Ext4 errors. Do you have a link of the steps that I might be able to follow to fix my problem?
Thanks in advance.

Nope. Nothing to wipe. Just backup what you need.

16GB or 32GB?
16GB or 32GB?[/QUOTE]
Thanks for the reply - I'm on 16gb and have managed to pop recovery into it. Just woken up now and will try to pop Sweet Rom. That's the plan ...
Cheers,
I know - 32gb only, right? Have found a process and am now running 4.2.2 glitch free on 16gb HK Note 3.
Cheers.

Flash gone wrong. N9005

Hey everyone.
I tried updating my CWM via odin, I did everything as normal.
However when the phone boots back up, It says ( in the top left hand corner )
RECOVERY BOOTING
set warranty bit : recovery
When I put it back into download mode and back into odin, it came up with the green 'pass'
I have tried taking out the battery, and then entering into bootloader, but the phone just resets and comes back up with the same message. There is no way for me to get into bootloader
I need help please guys

It's normal. The Knox bootloader only like its modules stock.
Whit a Customer Recovery we have : set warranty bit: recovery
Whit a new modem we have : set warranty bit: modem
Whit a new kernel we have : set warranty bit : kernel but in this case we can have at boot "Secure Fail: Kernel" in red and not reboot. May be.
This arrived to me on another device w/ Knox bootloader also.
SO what do I do mate?

Ah I hate when people aren't online and can't help.
I can get into download mode, but I can't even get into bootloader...
Did evrything the same as I have done 10x before, I am guessing it could be a dodgy file we flashed?
Have you tried flashing an older version of CWM ?
I am going to try now..

As will I.
Were you just trying to upgrade your CWM so you could run 4.4 kk ROM's
Or were you going from Stock to root?

Trying to upgrade CWM...
You need to flash KK with ODIN then let it boot.
You need to either root it using CF-Autoroot or CWM will. Both of these need to support KK.
Latest CF-Autoroot can be found here - http://download.chainfire.eu/352/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
And the latest CWM here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454079
I don't know how it will play with a Mac though...

Hey mate
Thanks for your reply.
I was already rooted and running JB 4.3
When you say I need to flash KK with ODIN, is that KK ROM or a KK supported CWM ?
Seriously confused here...
And I already tried downloading the latest CWM which is what got me into this mess in the first place

Grab the correct CWM for JB 4.3 and flash it, it'll fix you presuming you are running JB -- If not re-flash KK and run the latest CWM - then If if bootloops, take battery out place back in and boot into recovery, wipe cache and boot up into Android

Thanks again for everybody's help. What I did was just flashed the old CWM I was using prior to this new one.
Flashed it via ODIN as usual and it booted perfectly.
Still doesn't help me to upgrade my ROM to 4.4 kk LOL...
Just glad my phone is working again, thanks.
