Hi, this is my first time to post here, just wanted to know if this is normal
Model : SM-N9006
Baseband Version - N9006ZCUBMI3
Kernel Version:
3.4.0-1590669
[email protected]#1
just got it yesterday and so far its doing great, but I noticed that some of the features are not working here, they are:
S - Pen : available but when you tap it its not opening up
No option for Hands free
no option for voice control
no option to change font
not able to use any launcher apps
gmail always crashes
will flashing it with a different rom will activate all of the features?
and is it possible to flash it with an original Note 3?

N9006 is a slightly different version of Note3 only available in China - there are a number of threads very specific about that model.
IMHO - you should NOT try to write stock N9005 to it since there is a good chance that you will brick it.
My advice would be to keep your current MI5 bootloader (and MI3 baseband), use Universal Root De La Vega to root and keep Knox 0x0, then update using Universal Root De La Vega or Mobile Odin Pro to latest Samsung firmware for your region (MK2 I believe).
Good luck with the reading - you have a lot of it to do around here

Thank you so much! I'll be busy for a while, wish me luck!
I think the N9006 model is not a real Note 3. It's the HDC Galaxy Note 3 (in other words: a clone).
It definitely looks like the fake N3 by reading the issues you have mentioned in your post.
Is the S-Pen just a one piece moulded plastic? You mind sharing some pics?

Samsung DOES sell a real N9006:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N9006&pcode=0#firmware
And yes, there are some crazy clones out there:
http://youtu.be/BOsq1jamTFg
But the codes for kernel and baseband are a little different on the clones. Also the benchmarks and the screen (not AMOLED).
I think it is a clone version, but I'm not sure, I have attached here the screenshots.
please verify if its clone or not and what would be the best solution so that I can use the full features of this phone.
and yes pen looks like a molded plastic.

That clearly states it's a clone, and as per as I know a clone version may (can not) get the full features of the original one.

guys, any suggestion on rooting this clone? also I tried playing around with it cant seem to access the recovery I tried volume up and power and its just showing a dead android with an exclamation inside a triangle, also after doing that, all apps related to google disappeared tried downloading them but it keeps on crashing... I've seen a lot of how to's for rooting N9006 but not sure if it will work with a clone.
This is not n9006...its cheap imitation fom china...anything u read about note 3 does not apply to this.

There is a thread for this device. You can find the thread here.
You should be able to find rooting info and other stuff about this clone over there. Good luck!

hey guys,
i recently traded my korean s4 lte-a phone for a galaxy note sm-n9005. i am not certain where it is from originally, as the guy who has the phone isn't very smart about phones.
my main question/concern is how can i upgrade to kit kat while making sure that it is compatible with the SK Telecom network in Korea? I am currently in Korea and would like to root and upgrade the ROM. Would I need to use the SK Telecom stock rom (it is a different model than what I have) and get it to work on my sm-n9005? Or would I need to mess with the settings on ODIN when I run the new stock rom through odin?
Here is some info about my phone. It DOES currently work with the Korean network, although the signal is weaker than my old S4.
basically, can someone tell me which country/network firmware i can use for roms and whatnot? do i have the option of both a korean firmware and foreign one?
thanks in advance!

A little search would have shown you some apps for that, for instance:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
From your pics the main (and most pressing) advice I can give is to stop immediately any updates AND security updates - if you are MI2 you can probably root with URDLV and keep knox 0x0! Read more around about that.

the problem is that i have no idea which versions of roms i can use that will be compatible with my network in korea.
this phone is unique. the corners aren't rounded- they are sharp corners. i got this phone from someone whose uncle is a samsung exec in london. i was told this phone was only given out to higher-ups at samsung.

I will post a pic of my actual phone when I have time to do it. It looks like a Sony Bravia because of the sharp edges.

You might want to mask over the IMEI - I doubt it can be easily used but that is the normal way to do things here on XDA.
The results are a little fascinating - it looks like an early build - and the part that the knox warranty was not yet present is even more interesting - DEFINITELY do not upgrade anything for the moment! Also I would bet that you do not have any region lock, so I doubt that you have any major reason to upgrade in a hurry. Even if you DO upgrade at some point you should first save your (rare, non-knox) firmware/bootloader (that version is not listed for instance at http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N9005&pcode=XEF#firmware and without saving it you might never be able to return to it). Also the bootloader might be interesting in the "fight against the knox warranty flag".
From what I know SK Telekom is using a model called here N900S and 2G and 3G should be perfectly compatible with the current modem that you have. For LTE the EU model is listed with 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 while the N900S has 700/850/1800 - so except the 700MHz band it might still work on LTE with SK!
There is also a local thread for those original models from South Korea:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484602
If you have some time it might also be interesting to go in 'download mode" and get a picture from there - here is a picture on how it looks with bootloaders that have knox.

The LTE IS working with SK, as well as the network. I'm just so lost about what kind of custom roms/kernels I can use that are compatible with my phone.
When you say backup my bootloader, how do I do that? EFS backup? Remember, my phone isn't rooted yet. Do you think I could use any N9005 4.3 root?

I am glad to hear about LTE! (it means that the 700MHz band is not that essential).
Custom ROMs might be a little further away (N9005 by the way, when done OK it might work with many N9005 ROMs), IMHO there are other things that can be done first that would make your phone better/faster.
If you want to root here is the sequence that I suggest:
- save everything that you have on the phone (if you have a LOT of stuff - to Google, Samsung, Samsung Kies or local with Helium)
- make certain that reactivation lock is OFF
- factory-reset the phone
- disable any update (say that you don't agree with the terms when asked) and disable any security update (that one is a separate setting in Security)
- use Saferoot first to try to root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
- if it works the very next step after getting root is to save as much as possible from the original firmware (you might also need to install busybox before that):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50011586&postcount=26
- if that succeeds and you have a 256MB debrick.bin please compress it (7z is pretty effective but ZIP will also be OK) and please upload it somewhere so that people that are trying to crack knox will have another thing to look at! :good:

Can you post pictures of the phone itself?
Hi all,
I am a Canadian currently in China. I went and bought the Chinese "international" Samsung Galaxy Note 3, SM-9008VZMUBNA2. I am here for an extended spring festival visit as my wife is from here. I will not be returning here until the same time next year, hence the not worried about tripping knox as the warranty will not be honoured back in Canada.
Let me start by saying that last year, I had a new N7100 that I successfully rooted and installed Paranoid Android on, thanks to XDA and chainfire i think who came up with the method I used, and am very happy with, but I just could not resist the awesomeness of the note 3 and had to have one.
I'm wondering if I can get some of your opinions on the some of the different ways to root this version. I have already seen both what looks to be really very easy (Kingo) and also what looks to be really difficult (Jedi Master). In the same vein, maybe some recommendations about what are solid, stable roms to use.
My version codes are:
AP: N9008VZMUBNA2
CP: N9008VZMUBNA2
CSC: N9008VCHBNA2
Thanks in advance and I look forward to reading your comments.

Well, my phone is rooted now, I used chainfires CP-Auto root, and my phone is very stock. Rooted, but very stock.
Now I need a recovery and a Rom. What I am after is to make my phone a regular note3 in the eyes of google play. Because my phone is a Chinese version, google play does not recognize it as a new device, so I cannot install any of my apps.
Help!
Thanks.

Hi, got the same phone here from China Mobile.
Did you root using this file from CF?
SM-N9008 (China): CF-Auto-Root-hlte-h3gzm-smn9008.zip
thx.
Hi all, I've Googled myself to death but it's just information/misinformation/old information overload. I don't know what's still valid, what's the wrong device, etc... I'm just generally unclear. Especially since my Note 3 is the Hong Kong version, 32Gb, with KitKat already installed when I bought it new.
The X Note thread has instructions for Jellybean users, and rooted KitKat users, but my phone is neither. RDLV isn't for me apparently, Kingo is bad news I've read... Lost. Every guide I find, I don't really trust amid the HK-this and outdated-that.
So, questions.
1. Does this sound right:
Step 1. Root phone in order to install TWRP or CWM recovery.
Step 2. Do EFS backup using mentioned recovery.
Step 3. Download the intended ROM.
Steps 4+. Follow instructions as listed in the X Note release thread.
2. How do I actually root the phone? Asking not because I can't find info, but because I can't find info I know is still valid.
3. Is the 32Gb Hong Kong Note 3 actually different to the international version? I know the 16Gb is, but 32?
4. Ultimately, can I put X Note on my HK Note 3?
5. I haven't even mentioned Odin. Where does Odin come into this, and what is it?
Baseband is N9005ZHUENB5
Many thanks. If you answer and refer to some software, can you please also note its current version so I don't go trying whatever was good in December last year.
Thanks again, I know it's a lot of messy questions but there's just so much old info to wade through now, this is the only way to know I'm reading what's current.

2. How do I actually root the phone? Asking not because I can't find info, but because I can't find info I know is still valid.
>>> CF-Autoroot. But your KNOX will be tripped.
3. Is the 32Gb Hong Kong Note 3 actually different to the international version? I know the 16Gb is, but 32?
>>> from what I've seen, it should be the same with the International version. Just make sure it is N9005 instead of N9002, and it is 32gb. The 16gb is different, due to different partition compared to the 32gb.
4. Ultimately, can I put X Note on my HK Note 3?
>>> if yours is confirmed N9005 (not N9002) and it is 32gb, then there shouldn't be any issue.

Initially on note 2 LTE, the partition to save IMEI are stored under efs partition.
But on note 3 is different. Samsung has changed it. IMEI is stored not at the efs partition.
There are 3 partition u need to backup.
Efs, modemst1, and modem st2.

agree.
especially those 16gb version.
few days ago I also headache rooting my friend N9005 32gb NB5 HK version (he came and visit me here from HK).
He is now a happy man go back to HK with his rooted device.

Yeah, I saw many of the old threads about the HK devices but that's the thing; they're old. Can't tell what's had a workaround found, what's for 16 or 32G models, and this was all before KK.
@sonic
Sounds like your friend has the same model as me.
Honestly, between all the Knox business + the EFS etc. backup requirements + now this HK deviation as well... I'm really not thrilled with Samsung. But I love the S pen and it's the best phablet so what can you do.

Yeah there's a lot of info for sure.
I dumped my N3 and got an Nexus 5 then an S5 but got bored of Samsung's tricks so... finally last week went back to HTC with the One M8 and can genuinely say I am happier with that than I have with any other device recently.

I think this image will be burn on "N9100" whole model.
For example, Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 any other firmware(ex:BTU) can be flash to GT-I9505 (ex:H3G) device.
But I can't found who already success story this burn on China open N9100 model in XDA forums.
If you already success burn on this N9100 hongkong firmware to N9100 China Open device(Not included Google service), Please let me know it wass successful working or not.
Saw this on Sammobile too but haven't tried it yet.
Seems like users on 52samsung are using it:

Couple of reports about the dialer not working properly (replace with another like Baidu or Touchpal), and one report of no signal in the responses.
Think I'd still root again anyway for TiBu and Nandroids via CWM.

Tried this today and so far nothing bad happened. Flashed fine on my mainland-bought n9100 and does include all the Google apps.
Flipboard briefing is now in English, as is recovery and bootloader mode FWIW.
EDIT: SpO2 also now in S Health if that matters proving and sensor aspects are only limited in software (only HR, UV, and Stress are present in the mainland ROM).

So You write whole N9100ZHU1ANK2_N9100ZZH1ANK2_TGY.tar.md5 burn to your phone (include bootloader,modem,...ETC) through odin?
And Phone is working good. Right? Also Knox warranty remain 0x0 ?
I'm too lazy. So I decided to take a risk by replacing my China firmware (Rooted with CWP & Gapps) with N9100ZZH1ANK2 via Odin.
Surprisingly, it works like normal except the dial pad (can't sort out the phone no. by name???....don't know how to fix it. But still it is ok as I can browse on the contact)
1. The whole sets of google services are in there.
2. The briefing is in English version (like some said)
3. Rooted is gone.
3. OTA is working normal now.
4. SuperSU is stopped working...it is fine for me as I usually don't us it.
5. Too bad: Knox is 0x1 now (But it is fine with me as I'm not really care about it)

Regarding 5.: If you were already rooted (as suggested in 3.) then Knox would have already been tripped. Flashing this with Knox intact it shouldn't trip Knox as long as it's an unmodified ROM.
Regardless, I've rooted long ago and had no issues on ANK2 and flashed the updated ANL1 the other day, too.
Much prefer the status bar icons in this ROM (far less wasted space around dual SIM and data icons).
I do note that there's one less 'Application manager' at the bottom of the settings in the HK ROM (3 vs 4 in mainland ROM) and there appears no option to 'Disable on startup' when managing apps (moved to somewhere else?), although you can still disable an app's notifications. However, I use Greenify to auto hibernate apps which I don't often use yet try to run at startup and remain in the background.

How can we get the file for N9100ZHU1ANL1? I have been trying to download from sammobile for 2 times. But both downloaded files can't be unzipped. Any good link suggestions.

Thank you, sir. Finally your suggested link is worked. And now I am using ANL1. Don't feel any differences.
By the way, it is weird that the youtube kept active even if I haven't used it. (Tried to restart the phone, then after finishing the restart for 5 seconds, the youtube is active automatically again.)
I just realize after updating the firmware to HK version, the call recording in dial key is gone. Anybody knows how to get it back??
can somebody tell me if it supports german language?
I see 3 kinds of Deutsch language, do not know if this is the German languge.

genius! german is perfect! Germany, Austria and switzerland. 3 little bit different kind of german!
Many thanks for the information!
And its really that easy to flash the rom? I´m currently in china, just need to go over the street to by the 9100....
It should be easy, just download the ROM then flash with Odin, but take note that Knox will be triggered.

AWS band 4 sm-n9100
Do you know if it will be possible to add the AWS LTE band 4 to this rom. Or if there's a way to add to the supported LTE bands.

I think most of LG device can do that. Even some of samsung device also can do that but nearly to hard except popular model.
(like GT-I9500 Galaxy S4, GT-I9505 Galaxy S4 LTE.)

same question from me, i bought 9106w, can't install gogle store ...
Hi.. I have a mainland purchased SM-N9100. How do I flash this? via ODIN? I'll be moving to HK soon and I would love for this to work!
Also, I noticed a difference in file size.. on the Samsung site it says the file is 1.6GB, and in the China links you supplied, the size is only 1.48GB. Why the difference?
1.what are the difference between the 2 tablets?
2.(i know its a stupid question but yet i have to ask) is it possible to install firmware of SM-T530 on the NU Version
Thank you for any help.. (especially with Question 2 with the answer NO )

Ok mate Here is the Solution that worked for me... (if you want your native Language)
1.Install Offical Firmware from sammobile.com of Canada with Product Code : XAC
2.Root your device.
3.Download Language Enabler from the Play Store
And Walla.... Work perfectly for me.

Thank you for asking the stupid question I was too afraid to ask but needed the answer too. I just successfully rooted my SM-T530NU, next I was looking for a custom recovery. Does anyone know if recoveries that say they're for the SM-T530 will work for the NU version? Specifically, I was thinking about using the TWRP in this thread but I'm nervous about using a custom recovery with a different model number. If the only difference is in fact the IR blaster then I'm inclined to believe the custom recovery is safe, I just was hoping someone could give me some feedback so I wasn't going blind. Thanks in advance, any input is greatly appreciated
hi,
just a thought about compatibility, i'm working on a rom build for the sm-t531 which i run on my sm-t530nu [it runs on both]
the sm-t53xx are largely the same as well as nearly the same as the sm-t33xx's, it's likely that as long as you keep
your kenel and modules sorted, the roms can like be used interchangeably.
Further the same rom i'm working on boots on my sm-t330nu albeit with screen glitches.
goto gsmarena andmcompare the specs between the galaxy tab 4 10.1 and 4 8.0 and youll see what i mean.
so if one variants firmware or new firmware get a new feature it's probably highly and easily portable.

Thanks for the help I was more stuck on installing a custom recovery but I gave it a try and TWRP installed successfully. Now it's time to start playing around with some ROM(s). If you just give me another day to get acclimated to this tablet and learn my way around it, I'd be happy to start testing your rom or any others, if and when they are ready to be tested
So then what is different between the t530nu and T530NZWAXAR model? I have found both and am confused. I am looking at purchasing larger screened tablet. We currently own several smaller tablets and I wish to stick with Samsung as it has been the best manufactured one for are use, but am unclear if there is a difference.

I tend to agree. I've got two of these and after a year they're both dogs. Terrible battery life, random reboots ànd both have random restarts and freezes.
