After flashing CM 11, I haven't been able to get past the phone set up (instantly crashes). After downloading a CM 10.1 ROM on to the phone and wiping the phone, I also deleted the ROM. Then the phone restarted itself and now I'm just stuck at the Google logo, and cannot access recovery. I remember having a similar issue on the Galaxy S, but don't remember the solution.
Trying to turn the phone off by holding the power button down for ten seconds just restarts the phone in the same state.
Any ideas?
Try to turn it off completely, start the phone in fastboot (bootloader) mode, and then flash the factory image
Holding down the power button for 10 seconds just restarts the phone. Is the battery removable?

That worked, thanks!
You just saved me a lot of time waiting for the battery to die
Just out of curiosity, does flashing the stock ROM keep root and CWM or do I have to install these again?

Is it a flashable zip or are you flashing a factory image?
If your flashing the factory image and you're using the flashall.bat yes you will have to reflash root and a recovery
It was a factory image. Is there a need for a custom recovery or is the default fine?

Hi, i installed CWM and did a backup, then install the 4.3 Rom from sammobile, then tried to do factory wipe, and it just restarted before finish, then it got stuck in bootloop, i entered again with cwm, and tried to wipe again, same result, then i tried to restore the backup i have made, but it never finish. then i flashed the 4.3 zip again, but still the same result, but now, when i try to enter to cwm, the celphone restart, and when i try to boot normally, got stuck on the galaxy s 4 screen...
any ideas?

If the phone is on, hold power button and vol down untill it shuts off, then without letting go of power button, move finger from vol down and hold vol up (so youll now be holding vol up and power). Hold the buttons until the samsung galaxy s4 splash screen comes on (with white text before the boot screen). You should be able to boot into recovery and restore your backup.
I know restoring your backup didn't work the first time but you should try again. If you have any other roms on your sd card that you can flash from recovery, try those if the backup doesn't restore again

you are holding the power button still even after you let go of vol down correct? Does the phone restart if you hold vol down and power for about 20 seconds (without the finger moving steps)?

Ok.... so I take it your phone does restart. If your phone restarts, it should be able to boot into recovery. Play around with the timing of the recovery button presses and try to get back into recovery. Do a battery and sim card pull. Leave them out for a minute, replace them and try to boot into recovery after replacing them.
If none of that works, I would odin flash the stock firmware and start over with it. Thats just me.

Good news, i left the cellphone charging all night long, then i entered cwm, everything fine, and i restored the backup...
But still, i want the 4.3 rom, What could I have done wrong? Maybe is because i didn't root the phone after?

If you want, try re-flashing it...but your really not missing out on much (major battery drain, no root, no new features). Im not sure what went wrong but its definitely not because you didn't root it after flashing.
Good to hear you got the issue resolved though
hey guys,

TWRP won't factory reset your phone anymore when you do that? I heard it was doing that in 2.6.3.1.

Here is what happened:
Installed AOSPA 4.4 KRT16S
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502789
Installed GAPPS
Everything was working great. I think kept reading and saw that I needed to install kernel.
Downloaded, transferred d800-stock-kernel-aosp
Rebotted to install this zip.
NOW, I am stuck in the android 4.4 boot loop. I have tried to power down and hold down volume up and down, but with no success.
Is my phone bricked? What happened? Could someone please help me??? Thank you so much in advance!:crying:

you have to time it correctly. Turn on the phone holding power and volume down. Then when the logo shows. Quickly (not too quickly) release two buttons and press them again and hold them until recovery factory reset screen appears then press two times power button to get into recovery.

Your bootloope, can you get into download mode? Try vol up and power. Then vol down to recovery....
Got a reply from the other thread:
Use this method (scroll down to where it says Master Reset with Hardware Keys). I ran into this issue a few times, and this is how I can get back into TWRP (when you follow the instructions, instead of wiping everything it boots into TWRP)
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-7590 [start from "when LG Logo is displayed", since you can't power off]
(NB: It says T-mobile, but it works for all variants)
THIS WORKED!!!!!!!
Thanks again guys!
I was trying to flash from NamelessROM to Carbon and so I did what I would usually do, backed everything up through TiBu, etc then made a full TWRP backup, wiped data, etc and flashed the rom and gapps and now I'm just stuck at the LG splash screen and it keeps on booting to that repeatedly. I tried to get to ADB through Terminal but it doesn't recognize the device. Any ideas?

Have you tried the vol.down and power button combo to get into recovery?

Ensure the device is powered off.
Note Ensure the USB cable is disconnected.
Press and hold the Volume down button and the Power button.
When the LG logo is displayed release the Power button only then immediately press and hold the Power button again.
Release both buttons when the Factory hard reset screen displays.
Press the Power button to continue.
You will boot into recovery mode and it will not factory reset.
Hope this helps!
So after trying to boot to recovery, my Nexus 7 wifi keeps rebooting . What it will do is it will boot to the bootloader, then immediatly go to recovery, I have CWM 6.0.4.3. The recovery begins to load, however befor options apperar it reboots and restarts this process. It is unresposive to the power and volume buttons. I am not sure how to get it out of this cycle, other than perhaps waiting for the battery to die. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Crack the back casing open and wedge the battery terminals out with something plastic. If you don't feel safe, why not hold power and down to force your way into the bootloader yourself.

Even after forcing the nexus off, whether by using the power button, letting the battery die, or removing the battery, as soon as it boots it does the same thing, even if I am holding volume down + power.

Ah, I see. What was the last thing you did before this started? Before flashing recovery, I mean. Did you check md5 before flashing recovery?

I haven't reflashed the recovery in a while, so the recovery itself *should* be fine, in theory. The last thing I did was flash Xenon HD latest, then franco.kernel, via recovery. For whatever reason, Xenon HD would bootloop, perhaps it is incompatable with franco. I then forced it off and used power + vol down to boot to fastboot then recovery, the recovery didn't load all the way, and thus the cycle began.
I have a same problem after flash xenon hd

The incompatablility with franco or the recovery loop leaving the device entirely useless?
I got the same problem after flashing XenonHD on my grouper,
I had checked for two weeks and finally I came over it by this way:
1- make sure you have proper ADB drivers on your windows
2- create an executable batch file (eg. boot.bat) with below contents:
:loop
adb reboot-bootloader
goto loop
3- connect Nexus 7 via usb to PC
4- run boot.bat
5- power it on and press Vol - key several times and with erratically, keep trying. it worked for me.
6- after unknown cycles of recovery bootloop finally it enters to Fastboot mode.
7- flash your recovery by desired one (I recommend TWRP) and run your recovery and wipe everything and flash a good ROM
8- good luck
