I have a problem with superuser that I can't understand.
So I bought this new Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and I rooted it by flashing my phone with Clockworkmod 6.0.4.5(1116) with Odin, and then installing UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip through the recovery window.
To be honest the process didn't go ideally smooth. Since I misunderstood how to proceed with the process, I had to reinstall Clockworkmod a few times.
After finishing from that, I started trying to use software that needs root access (like LuckyPatcher), and lucky patcher was hanging at the beginning black screen and not proceeding. And I tried many other programs, and they always don't proceed and stop.
So eventually I went to the Application Manager and select Superuser, and chose to "Uninstall updates", and only then, all those Superuser prompt messages started popping up asking me to grant LuckyPatcher and all other software that tried to access root... and since I chose to Uninstall updates, the phone restarted.
Of course, after the phone restarts, we're back at square 1, but the programs, to whom I granted root access get root access for some time...
I tried updating Superuser from the market, but when the program starts, it says "The Superuser binary (su) must be updated.", and I have a option called "Recovery Install", when I choose it, the phone keeps showing a message saying "Installing Superuser..." and it never finishes. Yesterday I left it and went to sleep, and eventually it gave an error message. I would say that Superuser update itself requires root access which it couldn't get... but that's as far as I know. I tried the "Uninstall updates" trick but it never worked.
Also I have to say I tried to install Superuser versions 1.51, 1.60, 1.65, 1.80 through recovery with a zip file, and it didn't fix it. And I installed CrashROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535355
and it didn't help either.
What do you think? How can I repair that and have normal Superuser permission asked normally? Please advise.
Thank you.
Any help, please?
Problem solved
The solution was to specifically install SuperSU from the market and not superuser. That fixed it.

I just gotten a DHD, and rooted it via Visionary, radio S-off with jkoljo's one click S-off, installed clockworkmod and flashed recovery.
then I followed sfjuocekr's guide and eng S-off, and proceed to install the kernel update utility into my PC, and flashed Buzz kernel v1.0.6 using the zimage method, and it was successful (says the kernel update app). Then I waited for the android to restart and upon completion, I pressed apply modules.
And now everytime i starts up my phone, i get the error messaging saying that Titanium backup, rom manager and flikie wallpapers has stopped, and I have to force close them. My wifi is also unavailable, when i checked into settings, it says wifi error.
Does anyone know what went wrong?
Thanks
I reflashed the kernel and the modules again, and my wifi is ok this time round.
But my 3 apps are still getting the error message, and this time round i got a message saying that my superuser is not responding and force closed.
I think that the superuser is causing all these problems, Ive reinstalled Rom manager and titanium backup, and when i tried to use titanium backup, it says it could not acquire root privileges, and for me to verify that my rom is rooted and includes busybox (which Ive done right at the beginning when i root my phone).
Im still able to access bootloader, so i guess i still hv root. Not sure why my superuser is not working. Anyone can help?
Thanks
I would always go radio s-off and eng s-off, it creates less errors and offers more flexability

i reinstalled superuser app, and its working fine now.
Not sure why superuser was having error earlier on, but reinstalling it fixes everything.
Got the triangle screen and following instructions in guides are not fixing it. Heres my scenario. I got my kindle with 6.2 on it. Got it rooted, installed market and go launcher and was great. Then the update of course came thru and broke root. Still been able to download market apps and use go launcher. So I followed this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1417284
to regain root and install twrp. It says root is successful, but superuser force closes everytime trying to open or use it. I can open my tibu and root explorer and everything still gave me root access. Went and changed the MarketIntentProxy.apk to MarketIntentProxy.apk.bak so market links go to market by default. That worked. Noticed that all amazon apps downloaded have a default amazon icon. Thought nothing of it. Went to install twrp anyway. Stuck at triangle now. Followed all instructions to fix and the KFU keeps flashing error device not found constantly and boot status unknown. Not showing up in my devices but I can eject via the safely remove hardware program. What happened? Did everything as guide states and watched the videos as I was doing each step.
Hello, i have a gt-n8010 tablet and just updated it to 4.4.2, from 4.1.2 i had root, worked any method cwm or autoroot, but in this version cant make root work well, i use SuperSU as root app, i do this: (debugging is on)
1 install SuperSU through autoroot (using odin) it installs and everthing goes well, reboots and it says something about disabling knox i just hit yes
2 install pro and configure the SuperSU app,
but at some point after using the app (granting root access), when i access the SuperSU interface it tells me that SuperSU has to update the "su" binary it asks me "normal" or "CWM", i hit normal as always because i didnt install CWM recovery, but this time fails installation and closes the app unlike version 4.1.2 wich didnt have any problem, and doesnt let me to access the app interface because it keeps telling me about updating binary, but when an app asks for root access it still asks me to grant it, and any app previously root granted stays granted.
the apps i use with root are: root explorer, root uninstaller, game killer, triangle away
wich seems strange is that root explorer, root uninstaller and triangle away once i grant root access they work fine, i can access root folders and modify them, uninstall system apps and even reset flash count, but game guardian, game killer and gamecih dont work as they should, they open well but cant use them to read memory and change any ingame value.
gamecih just never shows that has root access even if i granted it and doesnt respond to hotkey
game guardian opens and appears to work but when searching for a value shows 0 results everytime, every game
and game killer opens, but the message saying "Rooted" never shows and after like 20 seconds it closes and opens again in an infinite loop without letting me use it, it also doesnt respond to hotkey.
i have also tried the CWM recovery method and install SuperSU through recovery, it install without problem and just as previous method after some time of use it tells me that SuperSU has to update binary and fails installation and still cant use apps like game killer, i go back to CWM recovery and reinstall it, it reinstalls but this second time, it tells me something about disable recovery flash i just hit yes and after that it warns me about root access loss and ask me to fix it, wich i say yes, then i hit reboot now and everything goes well, but same problem, updating binary problem and no game killer type apps.
i have tried uninstalling every knox app, but still the same. i like to hack games rooting for anything else doesnt matter, any idea what can be causing this? and how to solve it?
do you disable KNOX?
Same Problem without knox.
What can I do? Many apps don't work.

I downloaded Kingroot today, ran it & achieved ROOT. SUCESS! If I had only stopped their. I downloaded Rootchecker Pro & it said I had Root. Great. Then I uninstalled Kingroot & installed SU from the play store. SU tried to update the Binary & failed over & over, reboot, failed over & over. THEN I did some reading & realized you cant delete Kingroot. I figured I could just re-download & re-install it & get ROOT again. During the process Google Security popped up over & over & I accidentely clicked Enable. Kingroot said it was installed but at the end of the apk Process where it usually says "DONE" or "OPEN", Open is Grayed out I cant click it & Kingroot isnt installed. I cant get it to install now. Rootchecker now says Root is not Properly installed. I went in to Google Settings & turned off the App Security, I verified I have Allow Apps from Unknown Sources checked. I can NOT get Kingroot to re-install so I can have ROOT again. Any help will be much appreciated. Would a FDR allow me to re-download Kingroot & Install it? I dont want to FDR but I really dont want to do it if its not going to help me achieve ROOT. Thanks Jason T
I've tried various root methods without success, last one worked BUT was unable to access the play store, "my files" section or the basic package installer, making it imposible to disable the knox security log for the notification issue and everytime I successfuly root it I can install busybox, supersu and root checker but beyond that I am unable to proceed further. When I restarted the phone it stays stuck in the att boot logo while vibrating from 2-3 times on a loop.
From that point on I have to wipe memory/cache and start all over again...
I Started up the phone without supersu but even that it has factory reset, there is lag from the phone.
anyone help?
I'll post device info
there's also a problem I found myself trying to fix the first problems after rooting it was a "dm-vareity verification" problem, son't know if I spelled correctly but that was basically what it said
Thanks In Advanced.
