[Q] [REQ] Flashable HTC Sense that can be added to Openfire / Cyanogenmod

Can anyone help?
As the title says - I'd really like help from you talented developers -
I love Wildpuzzle Rom. Love it to death. However - I can't (currently) get it to work w overclocking - I have one of the phones out there that only work w Jacob's kernel 4.1 - and none prior to that - and danne_jo's version of that kernel unfortunately just makes my phone restart at htc splashscreen all the time...
So I have 2 choices - either wait for danne_jo to somehow / sometime fix that kernel -
or....
change to cyanogenmod or openfire...
NOW. I am desperate to have HTC Sense in my phone. It's a must. Can't use the vanilla stuff, can't seem to get used to them, miss HTC Weather, Contacts, Dialer, Clock, list goes on forever.
So can anyone helpout here - PLEASE - do a flashable HTC Sense package that will work with Openfire or Cyanogenmod - or preferrably both.
My gratitude goes out to you people for your great work so far - and your possible help on this.
And danne_jo if you see this - I miss my Wildpuzzle a lot. Please try to make Jacob's 4.1 kernel work on Wildpuzzle (Froyo Version). It works on every other system but Wildpuzzle on my phone!

If only Jacob's kernel works, then flash it to Wildpuzzle. It is fully compatible and is available standalone from Jacob's topic.
As for Sense, it's highly unlikely. At some point in the past there was a version of sense available for Cyanogen. However, in efforts to make the mod wholly legal, all components were removed. As far as I am aware, it would take extensive work and knowledge of the Sense UI code to build it into any ROM with an AOSP base.
If what you miss are the home screens and dialer, I suggest looking to LauncherPro and beautiful widgets, along with some of the custom dialers that exist.

I'd like to see this taken a step further honestly. A plain ROM with the 4.1 kernal, a pack to add the HTC apps (like there is for the Google stuff), etc. That way, one version of a ROM can be tailored to suit everyone interested in trying out of the growing user created ROM's.

I would if it worked. Both the one found on Jacob's kernel thread - and the one specifically made for Wildpuzzle by danne_jo causes bootloop on HTC Splashscreen. Why I have no clue. The one found in Jacob's thread works a treat on both Cyano and Open - only Wildpuzzle won't work.
And no, I'm looking for the whole Sense thing - except a few apk's that I can remove later...I MUST have HTC Contact above all, then Weather, Clock, and a few more...
Why is there no Stock Sense Froyo -
IF I figured out the howto's I'd do a Sense Rom based on Chinese Froyo - adding Sense from Stock 2.1 - w all the Chinese junk removed, Rom Manager, Root Explorer, Linpack, Setcpu, Superuser, Busybox added. Rooted, Deodexed (whatever that is), and OC'd w Jacob's 4.1 kernel.
Why has noone done that rom as of yet? I very much doubt I'm the only one who'd like such a rom.
And WHY oh Why won't Jacob's 4.1 kernel work on Wildpuzzle!

It may, I've never tried - and would rather not as I would like to keep the froyo speeds...
So basically what you're saying Jacob, is that your 4.1 kernel doesn't work w Froyo version of Sense? Not Wildpuzzle nor anything else? Am I correct? If Yes - any clue on why - and any plans of doing something against that? Same problem as before tho, won't give us an ADB as freezes/restarts before it connects...always on the HTC Splashscreen...

It won't work for me with WP Eclair. I lose wifi connection.
Not tried WP Froyo since the first release of it as I need the contacts shown and want the weather location to work.

Not for those of us w more bad blocks i'm afraid...
I would really love it to but it won't - gives me the same error that all the older OC kernels did w everything... - restart/freeze on htc splash screen so I can't even get an adb logcat...
but only on Froyo Wildpuzzle - works on Wildpuzzle Eclair (which I am now temporarily using, until Wildpuzzle Froyo is made to work) as well as Cyanogenmod and Openfire perfectly

Count me in mate, love my wildfire.... and really really want froyo with htc sense added on it. somehow my phone restarts every now and then after wildpuzzle froyo and with cyogen....i miss all the htc goodies.
Hope things happen quickly.

my HD2 with battery+ (1600mah) MDJ kernel can inform more accurate percentage than other kernel

I wonder if this build can give me working mobile data (GPS internet), cause in all JDMS builds I have not got any workable data.
(In every other build like CM6, Sencse, Andr 2-2.3 --- data works!) But I love this one build more that the others =(((

I was running HDONE. JDMS was my second best build. Only problem i had with this build was that ADW got very slow when installing many widgets.Hoping this will solve my problems . Copying right now.

The OP says its based on the JDMS 1.6.2 build, and that build is not multi language. So I guess not.

Like to try a 2.1 SenseROM again after spending a couple of months on Ginger & Froyo.
At first I want a speedy and stable build.
I have just tried to flash 7.0 v1.0 (Elelinux) - and no, it is still noticeably slower than Elelinux-6.2.0-RC0-Hero-Speedmachine rom (6.2). Slightly faster that 7.0 v0.9, but still far beyond 2.2. So; is it possible that a 2.1 feels again more faster?
Will report back my impressions - if U like!

I would suggest Mr. Bang's 2.1 Sense ROM. It is, apart of Cronos, the latest updated 2.1 ROM, and is by far smaller in size (nearly 30 MB!). In addition FlyKernel-12a is a good choice

Well, I know I went from 2.3 Gingerbread to Mr. Bang's 2.1 Sense ROM and felt very satisfied with the speed and stability of good old 2.1, especially since Sense makes your phone full and not fragmented so you have to download widgets and other things to get it as you want. The only thing you may miss is the new functions and apps that require 2.2+.
Edit: I also encourage you to take a look at Tegro 2.5 RC3, it is very Sense-like, but I haven't tested it.

If you want a rom that is A sense rom 2.1 for the HTC Hero GSM and build for it and that just works 100%.
Use Villainrom 12. You can customize it with their kitchen. It may be old, but that doesnt mean its crap .
I myself flashed FlyKernel 11C BFS over it and it works fine here .

So far as I know a modded version of FlyKernel 11C Cuss 12A is buggy, for me it is unstable and I dont like it. now running 11C on Villainrom and well it runs smoother then 12A

Pulsar had a modded version of Flykernel 11C in his Froydvillain release. I was refearing to that.
What did I tweak. well the lockscreen, battery Icon, and I removed like 90% of the apps. and I updated EGL. And well I love it.
Now I am on Flykernel 12A M652-M176-noatime
I got awesome battery life.
I went back to Ginger for a test. and well no that was a no go....
The speed in Villainrom is insane.

RCMix is nice and all, but still even VR12 is bloated but RCMix, man... even if you remove all that crap. You can never get the speed of VR12.

Is there a gapps for this? Cant get my contacts to sync. Other than that, seems to be running quite well.

Ok, I flashed 12.28 mdpi gapps and all is well. You're right.. this rom is def built for speed. It runs great! thank you

Gapps are baked in, screenies will come, but it's a pretty normal looking froyo rom. Almost stock vanilla.

You may have had some obscure bug, I'll look into it. I didn't have to flash any gapps on my eris. Updates will begin really soon.

Ok been trying to get setup now, having some fc issues in cm settings and also when connected to mobile network browser fc but not on WiFi
Browser crashes when trying to find location.

I would say that any of the Froyo Metamorph themes would probably work with this Rom. More than likely though a flashable theme will give you some serious boot loop I'm only saying that because I haven't looked at the Rom yet to see if the framework is the same as any of the others.

why isnt SenseGinger 1.0.1 (2.3/Sense) in rom manager? what does someone have to do to get it added? ill do it.

The way I understand it is the developers of the rom have to decide to put it in rom manager, try dropping the dev a pm and see if he will do it.

Dude, it literally just came out and even if the developers want it in rom manager, it has to be updated include the links to the rom. Let's not forget it's still a beta release for the most part meaning a lot of things are buggy or just don't work. Most things don't make it in there until they make it do a stable release (aside from nightlies).
It's mostly up to the developer(s) to have it added. Just give it some time to be added. Or, go to villian's site a download it from there since you obviously have the internet

This. It really won't get put into ROM manager until its stable. And it literally came out like 2 days ago. At this time just do it manually, its better to do it that way anyways with unstable builds
