Hi guys, I am trying to flash this ROM, I have to tell you that it is the first time I am doing it, but having problem. I have razr M rooted with supperSU, safestrep 3.11. I rebooted into SS3.11 and tried to create a ROM Slot, but it does nothing. I go to either rom slot out of 4 and see options, but nothing happens when I press create ROM button. I do message Space :0MB at the botom, although I have at least 10GB free on SD card and at least 2.5GB on the internal memory. Can you pelase help-Gene

I also replied to your question on DroidRzr.com.
When you create a new ROM slot in SS, all it does is setup the partitions for you to safely flash a new ROM. After the ROM slot is created, you need to choose the "Install" option for that ROM slot. Then, you will choose the "Energy ROM" zip from your SD. Make sure you only install aftermarket ROMs in one of the additional ROM slots, not in stock. Once you are comfortable with the new ROM, there are ways to install the ROM in the stock slot, but that will come in play later on

He nailed it. I will note that you say you have as 3.11. The latest for the RAZR M is 3.12. It can be found on droidrzr.com. Good luck!

I installed V3.12, although in the applications view it says V3.12 and when I go to the safestrap recovery it says v3.11 (TWRP v2.2.2.1) strange ??
I go in Boot Options/ROM-Slot-1 chose wither 1GB, or 2GB or 3GB while System partition size of 1024MB and Cache partition size of 300 MB are already selected, at the bottom I see "Free Space:0MB (while I still have 10GB of SD and 3GB of internal free memory). Create ROM slot button does notv respond or does nothing when I press it.

Safestrap must not be recognizing the free space on your internal sd card. I would recommend uninstalling safestrap, just to be safe confirm your root with root checker, and then install safestrap again. Just use a 1 gb rom slot to avoid any problems that may be occuring due to memory. Post back if the problem persists.

Hi, I finally was able to install the ROM and power the phone up, but cannot really enjoy it, because cannot use company emails... My company requires storage formatting and wile this option exist on this ROM, it looks like it does not work, neither through the option provided via exchange remote service nor locally by going to settings\ security\format. Is there an option to do that? Also I am constantly running on the low memory. I wiped all apps from stock rom slot, did factory reset and wiped cashe etc, allocated 2gb to Rom slot1 and after installing rom there, before any apps installed, I only have 1.1gb free. Is there any way to increase storage? Last but not least camera with phosphere works even kind of in sphere mode, but the alignment movement is as slow as it could possibly be, it takes a min to move from first picture to the second. Did any guys experienced that?

As far as the email goes, I'm not sure. I'm not sure which ROM you're using now, but I believe that the 4.2 camera that is available on the ROMs for our phone isn't fully functional yet. Last I checked photoshpere doesn't work, but I could be wrong. The way I increased storage on my phone was to install my new ROM on to the stock partition. This is possible with safestrap, but you will want to make sure you have a backup of your stock ROM just in case something goes wrong. Once you make the backup of your stock ROM, download the custom ROM on to a different partition and set it up as you like. Then, make a backup of the custom ROM in recovery. Delete the partition that you created for the custom ROM and RESTORE the custom ROM backup on the stock partition. Restoring is important because installing does not work (I bricked my phone doing that). Then install safestrap on your new custom ROM and enjoy all the free space you had with your stock ROM!

Okay, so here is the issue that I'm having. I have everything set up (SafeStrap, downloaded Eclipse v1.2 ROM, have it saved to my SD card), but when I go to actually flash the ROM, the screen says that it failed/unable to flash. I've tried removing the ROM slot, creating it again, and still getting the same issue. Also tried going into the stock recovery and clearing the cache partition from there, wiping the data, etc. Still got nothing. So now I'm really confused as far as what the problem is?

It's been a while since I've used SafeStrap so I'm not completely sure what the issue could be. Are you opposed to unlocking your bootloader? If not, there's a great selection of ROMs out there that are very amazing. Our phone has been receiving a lot of dev support lately and they have put much time in to some of these newer ROMs. I would recommend unlocking and installing a custom recovery to flash these with. There are many stock based ROMs out there that you can choose from if you prefer those, or there is a great deal of CM support as well. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a message and I can walk you through the steps of unlocking and installing a custom recovery!

Well here's the thing. I don't think that I can unlock my bootloader now. I've tried using the steps that were provided, but I guess that since I just got the phone a few days ago, it's downright impossible for me to do so. That's why I installed SafeStrap - because of that issue. If it was possible for me to unlock my bootloader now, I sure as heck would rather do that than go through the process I've gone through for the past couple of days. I will send you a message, and maybe you can help me out with unlocking the bootloader if it's possible?

This is the only way that Ive been able to unlock my bootloader, run this utility and if it says Status code: 3 you are in luck! Even if it doesnt have the Unlocked Bootloader Warning upon startup you still are unlocked.

I think that i have softbrick my galaxy S4 9505.
Here is what i have done:
Using PhilZ Touch 5 i try to do a backup as I have did several times so far. It said that there are 5Gb free space but process end abnormally since no free space. (Usually it takes around 3.5Gb of the backup). I reboot phone normally and tried to format phone memory as it was full form Windows. It did not want to, at least said it is formated but there were no change.
I go back in the recovery and did a Wipe Data/Factory, then in same menu Clean To install new ROM. I saw that /data and /sdcard partitions were not formated because of error. Tried to mount them and format from mounts and storage. But got same error.
Installing of latest Omega rom also did not went good as it claim that can't do anything with data partition.
Restoring up previously made backup (1 week ago) also result in same issue.
I have search the forum and found some solutions for first Galaxy and also for S3 but noticed that things differ. So i'm quite sure for S4 things will differ too!

Perhaps ,if you unroot and flash stock firmware,and return everything back to clean original phone.
Have you got a sd card reader?
If so,backup the sd card and format it on windows.
Then,you can try again to root and install custom ROM,and maybe a different custom recovery.
Well, my first venture into rom flashing hasn't been the most successful one as it's caused a really strange issue that a couple people on another thread have tried to help me solve, but I figure I had hijacked that thread long enough so this issue deserved it's own thread.
I rooted, unlocked bootloader, and installed TWRP v2.4.0.0 on Stock Android 4.1.1. Everything worked great. Until I flashed a rom. Now, I have been through wiping Cache, Dalvik Cache, Factory Reset, Flashing the rom (I've tried 4 with the same exact issue), flashing Gapps... All seems to go well and it says "success" when I flash, and I reboot into system. Run the setup of Google. Everything seems great and working fine. Here's where the problem is. When Google Play Store starts downloading for restore, and I'm on a solid wifi connection, nothing downloads. I have also tried stopping the downloads and installing apps individually. When I do that, I receive the same error message over and over for any app:
Unknown error code during application install: "-24"
I've rebooted, wiped cache, dalvik cache. Nothing installs. Same error. I did somehow, some way, get Titanium backup to install after numerous tries... when I try to restore any of that backup it just hangs on the first app. It does not restore anything. No batch apps. No single apps. No app data.
The odd thing is, the first time I flashed a rom, it seemed to load up fine. Stupidly, when I was running Titanium Backup for a restore I was not paying attention to what I was restoring. I was restoring all apps and app data... It caused an issue and a bunch of force closes, as you can probably imagine. So I rebooted into recovery and wiped and reinstalled rom and gapps. And virtually nothing has installed since. I have wiped and reinstalled AOKP, PACman, Carbon, and CM to no avail. Nothing seems to solve my issue. I'd love to at the very least be able to regularly install apps from the Play Store. At this point I'm not even concerned with restoring app data if that's too much to ask. I just want to be able to use my phone normally again as this is my "daily driver". If I have to go back to 4.1.1, that would be fine with me. I just want to get back to normal. And I'll do whatever it takes to get there. Any help at all would be appreciated.

2 suggestions:
1) i think others have reported having issues with TWRP 2.4, so try 2.5 or 2.3.2.3
2) I think the error could be a lack of internal storage, so certainly try the "wipe internal storage" in TWRP (after making sure that your ROM/GApp files, backups (including Tibu) are saved to your external folder

Ok giving this a shot. I did notice that you had mentioned a different version of TWRP than I had. I will try the wiping internal storage before I install a different TWRP then if that doesn't work, TWRP. Gotta find the external folder. Unless you just mean anything that is on the actual SD card.

i would actually recommend installing TWRP 2.5 first.
never wipe external SD card.
if you have an app called Root Explorer, that works best.

Ok I'll try 2.5 then. And I wasn't gonna wipe the card, just was wondering if when you said external folder you were talking about the SD card. Root explorer works great.. if i could install it.
EDIT: Since I am away from my computer, I tried the multiple wipe method. Didn't change anything. So I will be changing TWRP versions later and will post an update.

You never mentioned using TWRP 2.4. DEFINITELY replace that. Also, just a thought. If you haven't already done so, try using the option to fix permissions. I'm fairly sure its an option in TWRP.

Back in business! Wow thank you all so much! What a pain it's been but without the help I'd have never guessed how to get this running as perfectly as it is now. Here's what worked for me:
Installed TWRP 2.5 (Instead of what I had, 2.4)
Then followed jco23's precise directions:

- perhaps you do need to a double wipe of everything prior to flashing:
1) mount everything
2) wipe cache
3) wipe dalvik cache
4) wipe system
5) factory reset/wipe data
6) wipe internal storage (if you do this, make sure to change your TiBu backup folder to your external1 directory, or this will be gone too!!!!! also make sure that the system backup you made is on the external1 directory as well
7) reboot recovery
8) install ROM
9) install GApps

And it's working flawlessly. Able to download or restore anything from Gapps. Was able to restore some specific app data from Titanium Backup (did not want to ruin the phone again and do that full restore so I selected specific apps that I really wanted the data on).

Yeah, I've got it bad. I have had CM 10.1, Slimbean, Carbon AND AOKP on my phone all in the last 2 days. Carbon is on it right now. No telling what will be on it by tonight.

funny, and the goal is to find a ROM that you're happy with and don't need to flash.
but I've been on Carbon since 7/5, and very happy.
I am on Sprint S4 SPH-L720 4.2.2 updated to MF9 through OTA before rooting.
I rooted using qbking77's method and did a full nandroid backup I had no issues going through either process.
Like probably a lot of people, here's where I get nervous and a little confused.
So am I ready to go and install a Rom or are there steps i'm forgetting?
This is my first time messing with Roms and I don't want to rush it and have been reading this site for days so maybe i'm overthinking it but want to be more safe than sorry.
I've downloaded the TriForceRom 3.0 to my PC and put a copy on my extsd card, ran everything through MD5checker.
Now I watched the video that Unknownforce added at the end of the install notes and it looked easy enough but then in the video when it gets to the the part where you're in recovery mode and going into the advance Wipe menu the guy in the video selects Dalvik, System, Data and Cache and leaves sdcard and usb unchecked (which I get) and then swipes to wipe. But when I go into the Wipe menu it also gives an option for Internal Storage and Preload to wipe, I don't want to make any mistake here and could use some advice. Do I leave them or tick them or am I going about this completely wrong?
I get a nagging feeling that there's something else I need to do before flashing this Rom or any Rom really.
In the Install Instructions it says the Rom comes with AROMA installer, does pop up to prompt you after you choose the zip to install?
If anyone can give me any suggestions or help get me on the right path I really would appreciate it, until then I'll keep reading.
No need to wipe internal storage. That is basically all the stuff you have on your internal SD card. I also always wipe preload, not sure if it matters but I never have any issues. Sounds like you are ready to go so just make sure to do a fresh nandroid then wipe then run the triforce zip. Aroma will ask you options once you start the flash. You can choose what you would like. Since it is your first flash maybe just use the stock flash the first time. Then you can always go back and reflash. When you reflash you can choose modify and the aroma installer will let you change options without wiping the data from the ROM. Give it a shot if you run into problems restore the nan droid. Oh and when I do a nandroid I backup preload also.

When I booted up TriForce I had a lit up 4Glte icon in the notification.
Does anyone know if it's just there or am I on 4Glte now, because that would be the first time since I got the phone that it has lit up.
If it is showing 4g you should be on 4g. Run a speed test and see what you get. Glad you got it going.

I cant seem to download anything of the playstore when having TriForce running. I cleared the apps cache and data and removed my Google account and rebooted and re enabled the account and it still hangs and doesnt start the download.
I dont have an issue with it when going back to stock rooted.
I used TB to back up nandroid manager so I could reinstall some apps but I cant figure out how to re install that do I tried re downloading from play store and it lets me go through the process but just sits there instead of downloading.
Any suggestions?
Never mind, I solved this myself. Had to do a battery pull and tada. When in doubt right.
So, i was curious about Paranoid Android. So i decided to give it a try on my N7.
I started with an already unlocked, but otherwise stock N7, 2012, Running the stock KitKat ROM.
I installed TWRP, used an auto-root method which booted an image via fastboot, and rooted. Then I booted back into KitKat, and installed Titanium Backup Pro to back up a few apps I didnt want to lose in the flash.
Then, i booted back to TWRP, and ran a system backup, so I could restore if needed.
Once the backup was done, I installed Paranoid 4.2 beta4, from their paranoidandroid.ca, and gapps from goo.im.
Booted paranoid android well enough, but man, it was sluggish. Really sluggish. It was painful to get my google aco**** logged in and then setup my email accounts. Thats about as far as I got before I decided that this was just not usable, and decided to drop back to my stock rooted backup.
Now, through all of this, I dont have a ton of storage space avaialble. The backup took up 4gb, and its only a 16gb tablet. I had a few hundred mb available after the backup, and install of paranoid.
After restoring my backup, things were still pretty darn slow. I cleaned up a decent amount of space, i have about 1.5gb available now. Its improved, but still sluggish. I'm not ready to delete the twrp backup yet, as i may try paranoid again, or maybe another rom, but I want to get tot he bottom of this speed problem first.
Does android depend on free /sdcard disk space in order to function well? Knowing what I know about linux this seems strange. Or is it that I should have wiped cache/dalvik when I restored my backup? I did wipe both, and /data when I did paranoid.
Any suggestions?

I started with an already unlocked, but otherwise stock N7, 2012, Running the stock KitKat ROM.

I gave cache and dalvik a wipe, and rebooted. What little performance gains I thought I got earlier from cleaning up the storage, are now gone. Its just as slow as it was again. Sigh. What have I done to my tablet?
Have you tried to do a full wipe of the device and factory reset?? (wipe internal storage included) I've found that this helps greatly with speed and stability on allof my devices. It is a hassle though.....

I haven't gone this far yet, because of the hassle. I may do this and see what happens.
Backed up my stuff, reinstalled paranoid, and did a full wipe.
So far, so good, appears to be much faster.

Yep. Still not sure why wiping my personal data did the trick, I did wipe all of the app and cache data the first time around...
Oh well, if it works it works, dont complain right? Thanks for the suggestion!
