Hi guys, I'm a kinda of novice on android after coming from blackberry, I rooted my I9500 using chainfire auto root and everything worked flawlessly well. I never use triangle away since its not available for the device. Now some new updates are rolling in from Sammy and really love touchwiz so I didn't bother myself with custom roms. I would love to have those updates cos I heard they make the phone really fast and eliminate lagging. When I checked for updates I still get I have the latest firmware. My device status shows official. I didn't do anything to change Dat. If you guys have any idea how to get OTA Plz ur ideas are welcome plus a step by step method of running stock rom via odin is appreciated. Here is a snapshot of my device. Pls guys don't be offended if someone has already post a similar complaint.

Bro u must ask questions in question answer forums in this way u can get help more easily
lets come to the problem u cant use odin on pc becuase your bootloader is now locked so i suggest that u use mobile odin to flash it
mobile odin require your note 10.1 to be rooted to you should root it before proceeding
u can download proper firmware of your note 10.1 from sam mobile web site just down load it copy your rom in external sd card select appropriate options from mobile odin app and then flash it after flash is completed just open recovery by pressing power + up button while the tablet is booting and clear data and clear cache after that ur note will be downgraded to 4.1.2 and u will be good to go
backup ur data cuz this is going to clear everythig
my tab is not rooted. I downgrad my tab, will it do work proper?
some where I read that downgrade is not possible
please I need confirmation that it will not do any damege on my tab

Thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4707707 (ERIC-MOD) for guiding me, today I would like to share my experience on how to downgrade the SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10.1 (GT-N8000) from the Samsung official firmware update Android 4.4.2 BACK TO Android 4.1.2
Requirements
-1. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000 (for models like N8010 or N8013 may work also) *NOT A BRICKED ONES
-2. Root access required (For those doesn't know how to root, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv8440QhHsw this guide will help you)
-3. [root] Mobile ODIN Pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.mobileodin.pro&hl=en
-4. Note 10.1 GT-N8000 ANDROID 4.1.2 Jellybean Firmware http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=gt-n8000 (If you're having N8010: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=gt-n8010 If you're having N8013: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N8013 ) Make sure to find your own country's firmware (Update: Here's a new link for firmwares: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/GT-N8000/ )
Optional
-Notebook or PC running Windows
-Samsung USB Cable (Use genuine if possible)
It is very good to hear that Samsung had published a new firmware update for Note 10.1, that is the newest Android version (KitKat 4.4.2 update), but it is also very annoying that all the functions we usually used are gone (Example: Screenshot button, S Pen Shortcut Toolbar, Multi Window and so on). It also became very laggy (don't know whether you experience such problem) and can't even multitask anymore. Some of you might not experience that because it depends on how you uses the tablet, but some of you may be regretting why did u update your device......you might be searching for a guide to downgrade it..... And you found this post!
I'm not responsible if you bricked your device or making your device even worse using this tutorial! If you don't think that you are experiencing any problem or actually you liked Android KITKAT more than JELLYBEAN, you have the rights not to downgrade it, I am not forcing you to downgrade your device, its your own choice. Also, YOU ARE TAKING YOUR OWN RISK TO DO THIS BECAUSE YOUR WARRANTY WILL BE VOID!
Let's Get Started
Preparation
1. Make sure your device is ROOTED.
2. Backup all your important data and all your apps, you may use Helium Backup for Android
3. Make sure you have [root] Mobile ODIN Pro installed on your device.
4. Make sure you downloaded the Android 4.1.2 firmware into your device's SD card or internal storage.
*Optional- or download it using PC and transfer to your device.
Main Instruction
1. Launch [root] Mobile ODIN Pro.
2. Grand access with superuser.
3. Mobile Odin Pro requires an add on, so DOWNLOAD IT.
4. Select "Open File... (Open file to archive .tar, .tar.md5, and separate files supported)"
5. Locate to where you downloaded your 4.1.2 firmware.
6. Everything will be automatically done, now just TICK the Wipe date and cache, TICK the Wipe Dalvik cache (as shown in the picture below)
7. Click Flash firmware (please keep in mind your device will factory reset it)
8. Wait for some time and it should be revert back to your BELOVED ANDROID 4.1.2 JELLYBEAN SYSTEM!
It's simple, but only the time matters. So this is how I Downgrade it (Again SUPER THANKS TO http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4707707 MR. ERIC-MOD, without his help, I wouldn't have my device getting downgraded).
This thread shows how he helped me out http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...how-to-downgrade-note10-1-n8000-to-4-t2807106
Hope you guys enjoy this~ If you have any question, or you find that I am wrong, reply me to let me know so that i can update the details~
If I've helped you, please give me a "Thanks" by pressing 'thanks button', or also say thanks to Eric-Mod
Q: Can I use Odin PC version?
A: Sorry, you can't. It might end up soft breaking your device.
Q: Can I downgrade my device to android 4.1.2 with a custom android 4.4.2 rom?
A: It's better not to downgrade using this method as it is used for downgrading from Samsung Official android 4.4.2 firmware to android 4.1.2 firmware, not a custom android 4.4.2 firmware.But...you can still try it if you want to take the risk. (AUG, 3rd, 2014, Tested by a junior member 'johnattas' from XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5092748 , was told that downgrading from a custom rom using this method was a success. More info on page 3, you can find it yourself)
*PS* 1. received a complaint that after downgrading, should not allow Samsung to update itself or else may cause brick.
2. received a complaint that after downgrading, cannot charge the device when it is turned off. Still can charge when turned on.
3. received a private message from andrewjcox telling that the above method had successfully downgraded his Note 10.1 N8020 model. Not sure how he did it on "N8020" device, message him for more info if you need help.
Note: I will keep updating this thread for more detailed tutorial. (Discontinued)
Note! 10th of June, 2016 I will no longer provide supports to this tutorial., Chances of worsening your device are low I would say, you can still use the tutorial but it is your own RISK to do that.

You want to update to the samsung official update kitkat? I recommend you don't update, it's laggy, some of key features has gone, and this is why i posted this thread for downgrading back to 4.1.2 jellybean.
Root also lets you to have more options to modify your tablet... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv8440QhHsw This is a very simple way to root it.
Please tell me if I had misunderstood what you have said and by the way it is not really possible to revert bootloader as i can't find any tutorial for this until now.

Well... battery wont charge when note is turned off
I downgraded my n8000 to jb 4.1.2 exactly as you described
Every thing is ok but when note is off and connected to charger
Only battery icon stuck and not charging only charge when note is on
I did not know there was a problem with downgrading from 4.4.2, so I casually flashed a custom 4.0.4 ROM and then a custom 4.1.2 ROM. So far, there has been nothing wrong with my N8000, but seeing this worried me a bit. Am I supposed to do anything else?

Same here. I was on official 4.1.2 with root and custom recovery and did a nandroid backup before I upgraded to official 4.4.2 the other day.
The custom recovery got replaced with stock recovery after the upgrade so I reflashed it (the custom recovery) in Odin 3.09. I then booted into custom recovery and restored the nandroid for my 4.1.2 backup.
Everything is working just fine, no charging issues with the screen on or off.
same device info but not rooted
Hi. I also like to downgrade my n8000 and I've checked your other post, we have the same information about our device but mine is not yet rooted. Honestly I don't know what is rooted or not. I just download a root checker in the playstore coz i've read it in your other post and it says my device is not yet rooted. (Also, i'm not a techie person hehehe so I don't know some other complicated terms ) Can i downgrade without rooting it? Hope I can get back to the jelly bean firmware coz the kitkat really sucks. Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance

You can downgrade without rooting. There is one possibility to downgrade without rooting your note 10.1. The method involves downloading stock 4.1.2 rom from sammobile and then removing bootloader files from it then u can flash that modified file with pc odin easily.

Hey, guys.
I was just installing Gennxt kitkat cusrom for my grand 2.
And, I was forgot that you need 4.4.2 stock rom to flash it and I was flashing
it on 4.3 stock. After installing, my phone reboots and when it's going to show the bootanimation,
it was just black screen with vibration then reboots again.
Is my Galaxy Grand 2 SM-G7102 is bricked?
Please! I need to fix this problem!

Are you able to go to download mode? If yes, you can reflash 4.3 using odin after downloading it from sammobile or you can initialize firmware using kies. I would suggest you to try kies to be safe side.
Although i am not sure whether it's going to work or not. If you can explain your situation a bit better, some one will definitely help [emoji4]

Yes right but it would be better to help him. That's the whole purpose of posting the question. Isn't it so?? [emoji5]
Yep it is but u have already given him the solution !
Um anyway try Re flashing the custom rom and if it doesn't work then try flashing the stock Rom through odin
If not both then there is this post ! How to u n brick your SM-G710
Here is the LInk :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/general/how-to-unbrick-sm-g7102-t2824576
Here is how u do it with Odin :
First of all, on your computer download Odin.
Download the Android firmware package.
And install the Galaxy Grand 2 drivers on the computer – you can use Samsung KIES in that matter.
Unzip Odin and install the program on your computer.
Unzip the firmware file on the same folder as Odin.
Run Odin on your PC.
Turn off your device and enter download mode.
Connect your devices by plugging in the USB cord.
From Odin (if the added message is being displayed and if the ID:COM section is turned yellow or blue – else try to reinstall the drivers on your computer and then repeat the steps from above) select “PA” and pick the firmware file.
Don’t make any other changes on the program; select “start”.
The process will be over when the “pass” message will be displayed and when the ID:COM section will turn green – you can safely unplug the USB cord and reboot your phone.
Sanju Joseph
I already doing that and flash back to 4.3 rom and it's still bricked.
So I decided to send my Galaxy Grand 2 to Samsung Service Center and they say the parts inside
my grand 2 is broken, So they replace the parts inside my grand 2 and replace it with new parts.
And all was fixed
(Sorry for my bad english, cuz I'm Indonesian and Samsung didn't notice that I already voided my guarranty by rooting it )
The problem was fixed.
Alright, so the problem fixed by replacing the parts inside of my Grand 2 and everything was back to normal. :victory:
Now it's time to update my Grand 2 to kitkat!
(Again, sorry for my bad english, cuz I'm Indonesian kid.)
No Problem, Blame Balliboxer and his ****ty Faulty CusROMS!

According to Samsung Technician Slip, the problem was the bootanimation logo was hang and the acc files were gone.
So, the technician replaces the PBA part with the new one and install stock rom 4.3 JB (The most updated one.)
But there was no signs of Kitkat update for my Grand 2, But everything was back to normal
All I can do now is blame the creator of the Gennxt Kitkat Cusrom (a.k.a. Balliboxer).
(P.S for Balliboxer, Please stop making ****ty ROM that cracked from the S5, Note 3 or, whatever! Just stop making ****ing CusROMS! It bricks!)
Don't Blame Devs
Don't blame the developers. It was you who chose to install the custom ROM and f***ed your device with your stupidity level over 9000! Kindly try to read the instructions and act accordingly. Better, avoid doing things you don't understand.

@balliboxer is doing great job and his gennxt rom is great. I used it.
Bricking your device is completely your fault as you have flashed gennxt rom made for 4.4.2 over 4.3 android.
I would suggest to make an apology and most important is to mind your language.
Frustration
Um this is probably the reason why i ask people not to root ! bcuz if u root ur mobile for sure someday u will brick it trying to do something !
And i dont think ur Grand 2 was broken .... i think he has tricked u for money ! Flashing through odin wud have solved the problem ! bcuz flashing a custom rom or bootlooping wudnt effect any part of the android !
OMG?
Man, that kid is really weird. Why that kid would like to install a cusrom from 4.3 jb? He was supposed to be flashing it from 4.4.2 kitkat.
What a n00b.
Oh and one question, Did somebody here knows how to root grand 2 from odin or recovery? (I think from recovery rooting is safer than
rooting it on odin.)
A custom recovery is needed to root.

Actually, a custom recovery is needed to flash supersu i.e to root your device (at least for the time being). Flashing a custom recovery via odin alone does not grant you elevated permissions of a super user.

Hello guys,
Please excuse my noobish question, but i need to find some good answer.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, model number SM-N9005 with Android version 4.4.2.
The phablet is rooted thanks to Towelroot. And from there i install Titanium Backup and many others intersting stuff that need/or not root.
I enjoyed Xposed and i'm thinking i want to enjoy CyanogenMod also.
Now ... my problems is that i am very confused about what i have to do next.
And after i spent some time to research this, i've come here for some guidance because i fell that i'm running in circle.
My questions are :
Do i have to upgrade to Lollipop first ?
Do i have to unroot from Towelroot and root again with Odin ?
As i saw that steps are as follow:
1. Need root
2. Install TWRP
3. CyanogenMod (as i saw 12 is the last and it's good for my device)
Many thanks !

1. Unique way to update to Lollipop (if you are rooted) is via ODIN. I don't recommend you update anyway. I still with android 4.4.2.
2. No. Only flash the new firmware via ODIN and root it then with ODIN too.
3. I don't recommend you install CyanogenMod if you are noob.
If you do want CyanogenMod, you only need to install TWRP, and then flash latest CM-12.1 nightly build in recovery. You do need to wipe /data first, though which means you will lose your apps and settings.
Always make backups!

So why do you dont recommend to me to upgrade to Lollipop ?
Is Kit Kat better at this time than Lollipop ?
If i will update via ODIN, is there a better way to do that ?
And ... Still have my question about what if i'll unroot (and how can i do that safe) and root it by examples via ODIN and then follow others tutorials with TWRP and CyanogenMod. I'm not confortable via ODIN (but if i find some good, trusted tutorials, i want to try it) because as i told you before i rooted my phablet, the easy way via Towelroot.

So, i don't need to be rooted in order to execute these steps ?
If i'll need to be rooted (as i am right now with Towelroot ), what should i do ?
Thanks for your time !

If you want a CM rom just flash recovery with odin. No need to root. Then backup your phone and flash the CM rom. No need to upgrade to lollipop either.
However if you want a lollipop TW based rom it's better to upgrade to lollipop first. Nevertheless you can still try lollipop TW custom rom without upgrading to lollipop first but some functions may not work well.
If you can root your phone with Towelroot and you don't want to use odin to flash the recovery, you may do so by dd with terminal emulator.
