Hi to all.
I upgraded my cm 10.2 engle_mars to his kitkat release, the one that said had issues with the sd card.
When a new release came up, I received the notification through the cm app, downloaded it, and when I click install the app crashes and tells me it closed.
When i restarted into recovery mode, discovered that i have no cwm nor twrp, but instead the default recovery as in the next image

I tried coping an older rom, renamed to update.zip and set in /sdcard/ but no avail, i receive the error as in the image. I tried to install cwm or twrp from rom manager, but nothing happens, again i come back to that recovery.
The worse is that when I plug my cell to the pc and the cell is set in debug mode, my pc still doesnt recognizes it so i cant use adb...
If anybody has an update.zip that could pass, or any idea, any help would be highly appreciated.
thanks in advance
Same issue here.
I would try to reflash the whole device with RSD Lite and re-root it. But since I got no compatible SBF (and all links are down), I cant' even do that.
So if anybody got a vulnerable DACH (preferably Vodafone) sbf, please get in touch with me.
I also tried to find the executable of cmupdater, to replace it (hoping that this will help). But had no luck either. Couldn't find it.

New(bie) here ?
You just have received your liquid, and would like to install a custom rom, but don't know where to begin ? This is for you.
(Note : Mostly inspired from the LCR's wiki page : http://code.google.com/p/acer-liqui...cker/wiki/HowToRootAndFlashLiquidCommunityROM)
Tools Needed :
- Acer Liquid drivers : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E5PTHL3O
- Acer Flash Tool : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EF2QNANO
- SuperBoot : http://acer-liquid-community-rom-bugtracker.googlecode.com/files/Superboot.zip
Extract all in separates folders.
1. Install an official BIN
The first thing to do, is to get the latest official 2.1 bin for Liquid. Well, it's not really official as they are leaked bin for the moment, and not yet available on the Acer's website.
Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 --> European Version.
Alternatives mirrors : LCR's wiki page
Acer_LiquidE_1.100.15_AAP_FET --> Only contain English + Asiat langs.
Once your bin downloaded :
1) Unpack the drivers.
If you have a 32-Bit version of Windows, go to the folder x86, if you have a 64-Bit version, go to the x64 folder.
Then run the setup.exe and follow the instructions.
2) Unpack the Acer A1 Tool.

}
Important : under windows Vista / 7 : choose Windows XP compatibility mode and "run as administrator"
Run the ACER Download Tool. Click "Browse" and select the downloaded ACER_LiquidE...bin. Attach your Acer Liquid and press Start. It should start flashing the stock Éclair image.
Don't interrupt this process!! In case of communication error during flash process. You can unplug and replug usb, don't power off the phone.
You now have a standard 2.1 rom. But, even if you just want to run the stock rom without a custom rom beside, you should install a recovery software, in case of problems.
A custom recovery is program software which will help you install customs roms, root your roms, backup and restore a rom, etc... This is the start point to custom Liquid rom.
2. Install a Custom Recovery Image
1.) To do this, go here : http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-malez-recovery/ and download malezRecovery_0.5.3.img (or newer version if there is one off course).
2.) Put this image in your extracted Superboot folder, delete the old recovery.img in it, and rename malezRecovery_0.5.3.img to recovery.img
3.) Enable USB Debug in your phone --> Settings --> Applications --> USB Debug.
4.) Run install-recovery-windows.bat to install the recovery.
You should see something like this : sending 'recovery' (4876 KB)... OKAY writing 'recovery'... OKAY
5. After the flash, your phone should reboot.
6. To enter the recovery, use reboot-recovery.bat
To know more information about it,go to the malezRecovery project page.
3. Install a Custom ROM
1. To install a custom rom, just download the zip file, put it on your sd, then reboot on recovery (You can download QuickBoot from the market to reboot in recovery easily, but your rom have to be rooted).
2. Chosse Wipe Data (This will do a factory reset, please backup before if you need it).
3. Navigate to "flash/test menu" / "apply any .zip from SD" and push the menu key, and then choose the ROM and press menu again. Press home to start flashing
4. Wait for the installation to finish.
5. Reboot
6. You're done
please help my.am. I followed all the steps to install-recovery-windows.dupa I did that, could not turn on the phone, nor can it bring en recovery mode
Thanks alot
it really helped......
Thx.. it's very usefully..

Dont understand this part, the reboot to recovery.bat or reboot-recovery-windows.bat (in Superboot folder) wont let me in the recovery mode to browse for the zip file in the SD card, actually those files wont execute
There is nothing like "Wipe Data" as you said
Ok that's fine now, I need to move the newest img file to superboot folder instead of using the exe tool provided here
http://code.google.com/p/acer-liqui...tail?name=installMalezRecovery_0.5.4_FULL.exe
OK, so from now on everytime I want to install a custom ROM, the first thing I need to do is flashing the OFFICIAL Acer Rom again and then following step 2 and 3?
No, from now you can just flash the .zip without reflashing the bin each time.
Some roms are based on a certain BIN version, so it's better to flash the bin they advise to get the rom working as it should.
If you already have the bin version advised, you don't need to flash the bin again, maybe a "Wipe data" before flashing the new zip is all needed

yes, but now I can not access the Recovery mode anymore, when I double click the reboot-recovery-windows.bat (superboot) or reboot to recovery.bat (Malez), the phone restarts with Acer logo and then a black screen, sometimes Acer logo without back-light, and I have to remove the battery to restart again
Go to the Market and download an app called Quickboot. It allows you to reboot into Recovery without a computer.
If that does not work:
-Make sure there is no file named "update.zip" on your SD Card
-Remove and replace battery
-Hold down Power+Volume Down+Camera. Phone should vibrate 3-4 times
-Hold down Power+Camera
-Phone will reboot into Recovery
I have the same sort of problem. Rooted with recovery and installed a new ROM but then in reboot i get the splash page but then just a black screen. Tried a couple of ROM's but all the same result?
Just really want to get my CUS2 Donut version up to eclair....
Please help!
[update]
Ok, so i finally understand what went wrong. The acer support section wasn't that clear for me. Now just grabbed the 2.1 CUS2 bin from the liquid e section and that solved the problem! Now running eclair with Malez Recovery and ready for some custom ROM's
[update 2]
So i also found out that i can forget the CUS2 bin story. That's only when using official acer updates. With the ACER Download Tool [Single] i've now managed to install the leaked alpha version of froyo!

Its not working with rom manager. I don't know why but rom manager does not reboot to recovery. I did it the long way installed your rom but the recovery is still corrupted. I installed this way wit EU or US kernel, with and without the radio unlocker the your rom and gaps. After the bootstrap the recovery work ok. Then when fleshing rom ends the recovery is not working right.
Process:
1) Boot to Recovery & Wipe Data (R+M+Power)
2) Boot to Bootloader (Up+Down+Power) & SBF to 2.26 (Using RSD Lite & SBF file) - Usually I have to copy SBF File to root of Hard Drive & name it 2026.sbf or it may fail (ymmv)
3) Skip Activation (Bypass activation on your Android device | Android Central)
4) Settings->Applications, Set Unknown Sources and USB Debugging (in development)
5) Root
6) Install Bootstrap apk, open, press 'bootstrap recover'. then 'reboot recovery' to boot to recovery mode.
7) While in recovery mode, and without rebooting at all:
...a) Wipe Data
...b) Install Radio Unlock
...c) Install Kernel
...d) ROM+ Gapps
Found a partial solution on CM9 threatd. it seems that the stock recovery does not get updated with the new one or the link wit the new one is missing.
IN ORDER TO GET INTO RECOVERY, REBOOT YOUR PHONE, THEN WAIT FOR THE LED TO FLASH BLUE. IF YOU PRESS THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON WHEN IT'S BLUE THEN IT WILL TAKE YOU INTO THE DEDICATED BOOT MENU. FROM THERE SELECT RECOVERY, THEN CLOCKWORK RECOVERY

Ok what you want is this program called rsd lite... you need to have that on a 32bit windows computer after getting it what you need to do is get the base drivers from motorola and install them... after that make sure your phone is off... now hold the right side button on your pro and hold the volume buttons and the power button... hold these all at once for 30 seconds then a simple menu should pop up... now open rsd lite on your computer and connect your phone and it should pick it up... now you need to get an sbf file for your pro and browse to it in rsd lite and open it then flash it (it can be a sbf.zip file too)

Here you have stock Verizon sbf file
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 and have installed various custom roms on it. A couple of days ago I used odin to reinstall the stock rom(4.2.2) package for my phone which worked fine and I then rooted using cf auto-root here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219803. This also worked fine and I had root access. I tried to do an OTA update and received a message saying that I couldn't receive updates on a custom rom. So I reinstalled the custom rom without root after formatting the data and cache and didn't reroot and still received the same error message(custom rom). Since then i've tried install CWM recovery to format /system, /data, /cache, dalvik cache e.g. After this I reinstalled the stock rom and apparently it is still custom. Need help to make the status official again.
Sorry for the really long explanation :/ Please help

Follow the link and flash the firmware using Odin
Ok, I managed to do it using these steps:
1.Install stock firmware(4.2.2)
2. Using cf-autoroot, root your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219803
3. After your device is rooted install triangle away https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.triangleaway&hl=en
4. Read all of the instructions carefully and reset your status and flash count.
5. When the triangle away bootloader thing asks you to either reboot or reboot to bootloader select reboot.
6. Now factory reset your phone again from the accounts menu in the settings.
7. After that has finished you should have an official status and be able to recieve OTA's.
NOTE: When I did this process I still managed to keep the phone rooted.
This was testing on an i9505, have no idea whether this is working on other models.
Hi Guys,
My son has a MI9T.
Hé wanted to flash a custom rom the day after he got this phone from me (why i dont know) but he never did it before. And i aM no expert either.
Hé installed a few custom kernals, and roms and TWRP'S and dont actually know what hé is dooing.
But the phone is stuck in startup screen with Every rom he installed so far.
Hé did no backups from the working device either........???
The phone have working TWRP now and unlocked bootloader.
i tried to do the Xiaomi recovery (Miflashtool) but wont work either cuz of the fault:
Anti Rollback protection and i cant find a right firmware for IT.
The anti rollback protection is on 1 on this phone.
Can Any one help me out maybe?
or is the phone already to throw away?
Hi. The anti-rollback protection exists purely in a file in the fastboot image. Here is a tutorial on how to avoid triggering it on our device:
https://telegra.ph/Fix-fastboot-flashing-problems-09-20
The reason that no roms he tried are booting is most likely that on this device he has to wipe data + internal storage after flashing or it will most likely not boot.

OK! Let's try something different. First of all, the phone is not dead, so, don't worry. We just have to figure it out.
Enter TWRP, format DATA, tipe Yes (it's not wipe, it's format data).
Just to be sure, flash the latest TWRP https://dl.twrp.me/davinci/twrp-3.4.0-0-davinci.img
Since you formated data, you will have no files on your phone (be shure of that, if it isn't empty, you haven't formated data), you have to tranfer this TWRP from the computer or OTG.
After flashing TWRP, reboot to recovery. Now, let's flash some stable rom. Try this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...K20MI9T_V12.0.4.0.QFJCNXM_v12-10.zip/download
Flash only the rom (no magisk, nothing). Reboot! Now, wait patiently. The first boot will take time (from 5 to 10 minutes).
Then, give us feedback. Ground your son until the weekend. Good luck, mate!
Hi
Do you find solutions???
used the above steps except edl mode and was able to sucessfully flash fastboot rom without crc list error

But when I go into Magisk it fails the installation saying 'Unable to check signature'. See screenshots below
Looking at the installation instructions here https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html I believe as Ramdisk is 'Yes', then my phone is ready to install Magisk. I believe that if I patch my phone with a boot.img file then I should be able to successfully install Magisk. However, 1) I'm not sure it will given the error I'm getting and 2) wherever I search I cannot seem to download the correct firmware for my phone to be able to get the correct boot.img file that I need. Here are the screenshots showing the installed software version.
I'd be super appreciative to anyone that can advise me as to what to do next to try and resolve the installation issues so that I can benefit from the wonders of Magisk.
Thank you

Thank you

Hi. Thank you for your reply and advice. I flashed Magisk using TWRP recovery but it still won't install. Here is the screenshot. I also uninstalled the App and re-downloaded as per these instructions https://bit.ly/32P3Z9z but I still get the same error
Do you or anyone else have any more suggestions please?
Thanks!

Android Running Version: 7.1.1
I downloaded the IMG file of the BRJ4 raw boot image from firmware.mobi, successfully patched it via the Magisk app, and subsequently flashed the patched boot image via TWRP (selecting the boot partition within TWRP).
However, the Magisk card within the app still displays N/A within the app.
