Ice Cream Sandwich boot animation

Hi there,
I was wondering if any nice soul could possibly port ICS boot animation to work on our stones. I've tried but failed miserably.
Are you referring to this?

It works for me well on Milestone (animation from link in Sileshn's post).
Works here too. Just a side note on the first reboot with the new animation, give it a few seconds to load it up and do what it has to do.

I could not get it to work. :|
I guess I'll try to manually put the file into data/local?

This isn't true for all Roms, but usually it's the right path.

Nope. Does not work with my D1 or my HTC Flyer. I've even tried with the following permissions: rwxr-xr-x

Make sure that the zip file is not compressed. To be certain, extract the contents and then zip them back again without compression.

Umm. How do you zip w/o compression. I feel dumb asking this, but the point of zipping is to, well, compress...

I am talking abt the bootanimation.zip file. To create a zip file without compression, choose store as compression method.

That did the trick! My D1 played the animation with a very nice amount of lag.
However, my HTC flyer was not having any of it ....
Working flawlessly on my Atrix, just edit the desc.txt located inside the zip to adjust the screen size to
540 960 24
p 0 0 part0
And there you go

Well I Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251719 but when I try to open .jar file I don't get classes.dex file.
- Copy *.jar file to apktool folder (make sure is the same folder). for example : android.policy.jar
- Open android.policy.jar using Winrar or 7zip and extract classes.dex file
- Drag & drop classes.dex to Quick-Baksmali.cmd (decompile process)
- wait and you will see a folder with the name "classout"
- now you can start editing smali file on classout folder (use Notepad++ for editing it)
- After editing is complete, Drag & drop classout folder to Quick-Smali.cmd (recompile process)

I really dont know what rom your using , AHA, and here's the information about how Bootanimation.zip can be placed in /system/media with custom roms or in or /data/local with stock roms with custom kernels as Battery Extender, Cf-root...
So, mount system (R/W) and paste bootanimation.zip in system/media/ or in in /data/local/ and set the correct permissions rw--r--r-- (if it doesn't work set rwxrwxrwx as permissions , and i hope someone willing to help you with this problem.Have a nice day.

Deleted old one from System/Media and put this one in there. Still didn't work. Is it working for everyone else?
EDIT: The Images in the folder are JPEG, my understanding is that bootanimation require PNG type... please someone let me know if I am wrong on this.
EDIT: Got it working... for some reason my permissions weren't sticking... switched to a new explorer app and it works now. Looks great OP.

The images are jpeg. Maybe it depends on which ROM you are using. I'm using Liquidsmooth. I did use jpeg because the file is much smaller. When i'm using PNG the bootanimation gets over 40mb's

It's working fine here. Thank you OP I'm loving it. All you guys have to do is copy and paste this new boot animation into system/media using a ROOT file explorer. It will than ask you if you want to overwrite the current one. Click yes. Then long press and hit "properties." Then change permissions to rw-r--r

Its really not hard. you just delete the orginal bootanimation in system/media folder via explorer which comes with CM11. and then past it there and change permissions to R/W ticked on O in properities. thats it just 30 secs.
Great, really really great i think i will stick with this one... Gonna check if there's a way to add sound to the animation, i think i saw (heard, to be exact) it in the past already
