Even though I live in Panama, I am fully bilingual and prefer to use my device in US English. The "My Magazine" app, however, for some reason inexplicable, retrieves all news stories in Spanish despite the fact that my default language is set to English and that I have set the app preferences in "My Magazine" to retrieve stories from the United States.
Is there any way to force the "My Magazine" app to actually obey the settings of the system? I assume it just reads my IP and pushes the feed based on that.
Anyone have any ideas?

This I think is correct. As it is local/regional news based it'll push in the local language. There could be a way to hack the settings of it somehow or force an IP proxy.. but that's a lot of work for one app and way out of most peoples grasp lol

I'm sure we all want to have the option of looking at our emails in full HTML format by default on our HD2's. Does anyone know how to configure this option. A registry tweak would be nice.
Using the following route for GMAIL you can change your account settings to show 'The Entire Message' and download 'All attachments' by default by still doesn't give the solution we need.
Instructions :-
Go to the Inbox of any account
-> click on the menu key (right soft)
-> on the pop-up menu, select Tools>Options...
-> choose an account to edit
We need an expert on the case! Please.......................
Would it explain why accents don't display ?
Basically, I had an iPhone before and when I received an email, the entire message was downloaded. Pictures & text etc. and you were able to scroll about the entire message without any issues or having to do anything else to gain access to the rest of the email.
On the HD2, I have managed to get the majority of the message downloaded but still not "internet Pictures" are allowed to be downloaded and you have to push another option to scroll right if the email is quite large.
I know that Safari is a different program and not affected by malware and such like but I would like something similar on the HD2.
Are there any tweaks or CABs to fix this???
Thanks
I have been looking for a fix for this since I got my HD2 but it seems that there is no fix.
This is the main thing that is anoying me about this phone (Even more than the sms issue) I cant belive there is not 1 person on here that can hack this and let us download everything by default.
Anyway there is a HUGE donation for anyone who can do this!!
Regards,
Adam Rees
Someone else RAGING about the same things I am!
I think hell just froze over. The 1.6x ROM was pretty good in comparison to the 1.48 ROM. When that is officially been released then texting will be better.
BsB tweaks 1.6 will solve the texting issue till then. It has for me (for the most part).

Yup this annoyed me on the Touch HD also. There must be a registry setting somewhere that will enable the automatic download of pictures for html messages by default. Although this would mean spammers could potentially validate your email if the spam hits your inbox.

Are you serious?
Last year Safari was the second most-vulnerable browser (after FireFox), and most of those vulnerabilities targeted the iPhone version.
I don't think this is G1-specific or even Android-specific, but I didn't know where else to post it. I think it is T-Mobile-specific.
Whenever I compose an SMS to an email address, T-Mobile wraps it in a bunch of "junk," so the email message ends up looking like this (attachment shows it as seen in Outlook).
Is there any way to disable this (via some setting at T-Mobile)?
I am trying to use a mobile interface to a site (in this case, BillMonk) and they don't have a shortcode -- they just say to text certain string to an email address. But I think their service is choking on the T-Mobile wrapper because it is expecting just a simple text string.
Can anyone help? This is really annoying.
Thanks!

i very much doubt you can change this.
Grr. Annoying.
Can other T-Mobile USA users confirm that when they send an SMS to an email address, they always get this behavior? If we can find some people that don't suffer from this, we can perhaps find out what account settings are different.

Yep happens with me.
I have chosen (via a tick in the pop up) to have the native internet browser as the default browser, but when ever I click a link the popup keeps asking which browser should be used (Opera, Skyfire or Internet).
I've checked in "manage application" and the "internet" is set as the default browser and the default buttion on the other 2 browsers is greyed out, so they are not clearly, default.
How do I remove this annoying popup so my default choice remains set ?
(Galaxy S on official froyo with O2 Uk)
Cheers
With so many hackers and modders on this site, how come nobody is able answer such basic questions?
I'm glad I don't use this Galaxy as my main device because I'd have thrown it in the bin a long time ago.
My iPhone 4 kicks it's ass in every aspect. The only reason I keep the Galaxy is for it's ability to play 720p MKV's ( which the iPhone can't do until Apple releases it's hold on the API's.

I may be wrong on this but I believe that the reason you get that pop up asking which browser to use is because it is an integrated setting in the Stock Browser so that if you have other browsers (Skyfire, Dophin, Opera, etc) it will ask you if you want to use one of the "application" browsers as your default.
I dont think this can be changed (again I could be wrong) and I think the only way you can get rid of this pop up is to uninstall the other browsers from your system.
If I am wrong and anyone else reads this then please correct me...
In my case both browser and launcher are not being to set a default, despite me checking the checkbox
Hello guys,
I tested many of available email clients, and as I see maildroid is the best of all on Nook.
However it has the scrolling issue in mails view. So could some of you send mails to the developer of Maildroid making a request to fix scrolling issue, or at least make it scroll using side buttons? Please it is worth.

I use K9 email and it works just fine.
Before you start asking developers to support "side buttons on a Nook",
it's best that you have said buttons behave in a standard fashion
and ascertain if the app reacts correctly to PAGE_UP (92) and PAGE_DOWN (93).
The Nook is 2.1, that is Level 7 API and the codes above 91 didn't exist then.
B&N borrowed the codes 92-95 for their own use.
To make your Nook consistent with post Level 7 usage:

Maildroid is the only client for the NST that I have found that supports MS Exchange server settings that I need for work. It works very well.

Do you mean scrolling within a message, or scrolling through the list of messages? From what you've written, I am not sure what you mean.

There is a google groups list for maildroid support. You can join yourself and ask directly.

I mean scrolling while viewing a mail. K9 also has IT.

But guys, please if only one person asks then dev will probably turn it down, but if there are more voices, maybe he will listen.
Renate, could you explain more precisely what should i write, so he will not have problems with understanding/implemending?
Most of my messages are so short that scrolling isn't a big issue, but on long messages, I do see what you mean. You can click the little "box" icon to zoom out to see the entire message, which helps.
I'd suggest you post to the list. The dev is pretty responsive. If you point out something that is also broken on other mail programs derived from the same code base, he'll probably fix it to be able to advertise the fact. I just don't know if this is an issue on other devices, or just a result of NST limitations (perhaps multitouch).
Yup, but guys, I still dont know what to ask in the "technical" language.

Check to see if whatever app you use responds to KEYCODE_PAGE_UP and KEYCODE_PAGE_DOWN
Ignoring the question of buttons, under ADB try the following inside the app.
To send a KEYCODE_PAGE_UP:
Code:
input keyevent 92
To send a KEYCODE_PAGE_DOWN:
Code:
input keyevent 93
In the cell phone world, volume controls are typical, but there is no reason why an app shouldn't also support the actual page controls.

Or you can email me directly at my gmail account or the MD forums. I have not been on XDA in some time, so it's always better to ask in the MD forums.
TL/DR: Saying "Navigate home" in Google now used to send me to my correct address now it sends me to "The Penthouse London, 1 Leicester Square, London."
Just this month I started getting this incorrect location, searched the web and apparently another few Aussies get the same thing, same address only he was getting it on his Nexus 5 kitkat. I can't find a solution to this problem and I'm starting to think it's Google's fault and I can't do anything about it. Any ideas?

try this go to setting ,accounts, google ,location and change
might work
Fixed
I think I've got it. I had a reminder set to that location when I voiced "remind me to _____ when I get home" Which somehow at the time was bugged and sent it to London.
Swipe to Google now and click on reminder the finger with the string around it and edit the location to your home address. Not sure if everyone will get this but Google Now force closes and you will get the "Google now has stopped responding" notification. But now your address will be reverted back to normal. Hope this helps someone, I don't have an account to that other website that people seem to have a problem with.
