I'm actually using a US version Deb on Vodafone in India...
They're pretty much the Indian Verizon...
High priced, with better customer service compared to the others.
Probably gonna go with T-mo or Straight Talk when I'm in the US this summer...

I use my German Nexus 7 2013 on the T-Mobile network. T-Mobile here is mostly like Verizon, fastest network and best coverage, but high premium price as well. I'm on it through a re-seller which means I pay 14€ per month instead of 35€ (just have to cancel the contract in time). It's working pretty well, unless I'm in a pretty small town, I get good 4G coverage. No need to complain so far.

Yeah. Verizon is expensive, but you get your money's worth. If you want a good-speed data connection just about anywhere you live, work, or travel within the US, Verizon and AT&T are really your only choices.

Well you have to understand that the US is one of the largest countries on Earth and we expect coverage basically everywhere. US carriers have enormous overhead to cover such a large area and thus, we pay more than other countries because of that. It's simple math, really.

What reseller is that? I'm mulling over getting a LTE sim for my N7, but the "original" T-Mobile or Vodafone contracts are a little steep for my taste.
Hello
Italian deb user here. Very satisfied with the device. A question: how are data plan caps (limit) and prices overall?
Here I am with h3g, 1 GB x Day, 20 € month... 4g.
A little high for me.
Bye

I grabbed a nice offer from sparhandy.de which I found via mydealz.de, 5GB T-Mobile plan via mobilcom-debitel for 35€ and sparhandy pays me 22€ back each month for the 24 month contract. You have to have a bit of luck and frequent those bargain websites, but there are often good data plan offerings there. 5GB was a bit overkill for me, but it was only 3€ more expensive than the 3GB option and there was nothing below that, so I grabbed it.
UK deb owner here, paying 15 GBP (currently about 24.50 USD) per month for 10GB on the Three network. At the moment I'm only using about .5GB so I could drop to a lower tariff any time.
Loving the deb, though. Faster and smoother than anything else I've got, including my pc.
I'd be interested to know why you all went for the deb. In my case, I connect to my home pc while out and about so that I can check my webcam motion detector, run apps on the pc, download/upload files from the pc, and so on. As well as keeping up with websites, Twitter, and forums, and rss feeds with the new Play Newsstand app.

After trying to go to MySprint to check my dad's upgrade status I noticed that the entire site appears to be down. I noticed yesterday that Sprint could be changing to tiered data today but I hope it's something else.

I think it is something more sinister, tiered data, look here.
Don't think this will affect me... but why would sprint end their unlimited everything when they put so much into it...
I don't think this nesescarily means the end of unlimited data. I think the everything plans will stay intact and these "buckets" will be small for dumb phone users who want smart phones but don't want to jump from a 69.99 family talk and text to a very expensive (in their eyes) 129.99 plus 10 dollars per smart phone.
A single bucket of say 5 gb for 30 would be a god way to update a 4 phone plan with 2 smartphone with out going to a everything data plan with 2 phones that don't use data. This might be a good way to even power your tablet ith internet instead of paying fcor an additional expensive data plan.
Remmber, this little internal document shows almost nothing. Let's not get all up in a bunch over something we don't ANY details on. I know sprint may have their hads up their asses when it comes to bringing in the popular devices with diverse selection, but they have always been pretty inovative on pricing.

+1 I so agree they are just starting to gain on the big 2 and if/when the Tmobile and Att merger happens they will make a killing. I think if they are going to do that they will not do away with unlimited that is there bread and butter.
Care for me to shed some light on this?
SNAP and FDT were scheduled for maintenance from 11:15pm to 10:15am CST. SNAP and FDT are our ordering systems. The Sprint store is down because everyone is effected by this. Customer care, NSS, and Account Services all cannot order any phones during this time.
We should be seeing the site come back up here very shortly. However, about the tiered data, from what I have read and heard from some of my other Sprint connections they are just making new cheaper plans for people who don't want to pay for unlimited 4G data.
And Sprint is doing this because of one reason, LTE. Remember what I said earlier? 80% of the Sprint towers by 2013 will have WiMax and LTE. They are redoing every single tower, one by one.

Not only that but the Author of that article says this almost certainly means... in other words he has no clue and is guessing. Plus Sprint did not comment. I believe others here are correct in assuming it is for those without some type of unlimited data plan and want to share data between other phones in their plan. If anything these "buckets" of sharing may have limits. But just use Bluetooth file share and no network data is used.

It's a penta-band HSPA+ phone, so it should work on T-Mo (and most HSPA network around the world). T-Mo doesn't really have a true 4G network; in their marketing terms, HSPA+ = 4G.

HTC One X was a reason, thus it dropped from ~500+
Next reason is SGS III
which may not be around the market for another 2months..
But then one may want SGS III...
you can wait 2months and then decide... or compromise $30-50 price difference now and enjoy this nexus for next two months
On a different topic,
my recent device history is:
Vibrant -> Atrix -> SGS II -> Nexus S
I had SGS II and Nexus S simultaneously and I kept Nexus for its stability and curved display(feels much better than flat one). It is as snappy as sgsII and only part where I have to wait for the phone to process is when it is processing panaroma.
I really do not require an upgrade but still i'm going for gnexus as im excited to try what google has on platter with this one.
Considering I kept SGS based Nexus S over SGSII, it is highly likely that I will still stick to Gnexus despite of sgsIII launch.

This is the best online deal I have come across so far.
As far xda market trend, hardly anyone is willing to sell one below 450-480 despite of this deal being in place (an many other deals below 450 for quite a long)
PS: Members will be grateful if someone can purchase them locally for ~350 and sale on xda at that price; unfortunately nothing of that sort has happened yet..
I'm here in the US using an AT&T sim. I am so sick of the terrible carriers putting their little fingers and logos into all these devices.
My least favorite of these new things is the carrier logo in the top left of the notification shade.
This is a gross mis-use of the notification bar and AT&T and Verizon and the rest need to knock it off.
I'm happy (really really really happy) to report that the N7100 does NOT do this. Love it!

For me LTE is huge as AT&T is extremely fast around here. Faster than my Fios connection. That plus I'm due for an upgrade so I'll pay the greatly reduced price for the device.
I dunno about you... but that's not true on my HTC Sensation... also it might be from the manufacturer (at least you know who's network you are on if you're roaming).
I don't think I've ever seen that... Then again, I don't usually buy Samsung phones
I really really despise carrier branding..... Are US carriers the only ones that do this?
I'm just not sure what I should do? I've always had TMO and Sprint, but lately they've been horribly slow.
So I'm also curious, IS LTE/4G the only positive for the US Note II?
LTE is nice but if it's going to make the note battery act like the battery on my gnex then I'd be willing to go without

I wonder if threads like the OPs are just people trying to make themselves feel better for dropping $700 on a phone that can be had in 9 days for $299 (or less).
I mean, I have ATT and am ready to drop the cash on an international version, but I just can't seem to do it. I use Netflix a lot (don't worry, I pay a healthy amont for data) and it sucks mostly on my GSM GNEX. Stuttering and buffering. I just want a fast connection, and the LTE note is worth waiting 9 days on, IMO...
The 2500mAh battery on the AT&T LTE Note lasts all day.
The 3100mAh will be better. Food for thought.

But you still need service of some kind, which isn't free. I pay $48/month for seemingly unlimited rollover minutes (like 3000+) and 5gig of tethering data (200 texts) and free M2M on ATT. I have a company discount.
I know many readers are't in the US and don't have an add a line, but it's very cheap for me to keep ATT, contract or not. The monthly fee is higher every where else for me.
I mean I get the "well you are paying $2,000 for that phone!" arguments, but really you need to add in the cost of any service unless you are using it 100% on wifi (which nobody does). Add that in with a full non-contract price phone and then post.

Well, I'm on T-Mobile's Value plan which is a 2 year plan w/o any subsidies but you save enough for 1.5 phones... although your plan sounds pretty decent... either it's grandfathered or you've got some sick company discount, but in either case, the phone wouldn't be $300 for you... that would require a 2 year commitment (not sure how they handle grandfathered plans)

Yep, the only reason. I can understand why it's a great thing for people to use LTE, but personally I have wifi everywhere I go and I barely use my monthly data. Even though in some cases LTE can be faster than wifi, wifi is plenty fast for anything you wanna do. So I prefer the international version for development support. But the development for the LTE versions shouldn't be too bad either since they're using the same SoC.
For me HSPA+ is plenty......haven't been on a contract in 4 years. Straight Talk service is LEGIT everywhere i go.....so besides getting the phone early, that is the reason i buy unlocked. Could really care less about carrier branding.

Which phone are you talking about? I think the Note II should be safe as the only thing they added between the models was just a different LTE chip (or not even if it was just a matter of flashing a new radio). I mean everything's pretty much the same in terms of specs so they didn't do any radical re-engineering, also the flip covers also replace the back cover, so if you get one of those that should remove the branding (at least on the T-Mo and AT&T ones, who knows what the Verizon one will look like). Just don't buy a fake as the NFC chip is in the back.
Never thought I'd make this upgrade.... My Verizon Note 4 is being traded in for a ... T-Mobile Note 4.
10 years and 5 lines on Verizon. I don't see a phone I can actually upgrade to from the Note 4- so it makes sense to get a rootable, rom-able Note 4. I'd be perfectly happy with that. I don't think that trade is for everybody, but I see nothing coming in 2015 that's any advancement I want to live with.
Just to let you know how it turned out moving out of my Verizon Note 4 and taking my family with me (I think that's relevant for this forum- mods, if it's not, you can delete my post), here's how it worked (unlimited talk and text):
Traded my VZW Note 4 (6 gigs data Plan) --------> TMO New Note 4 (10 gigs).
Porting over a VZW Note 3, 2 gig plan -------->10 gig plan
Trading a Note 2 in for a New Note 3, unlimited data --> 10 gigs
Changing one flip phone to Galaxy core Prime -----------10 gigs
Porting over one flip phone -----------no data
VZW: 233/month. T-Mobile: 168/Month. Fortunately, In my area Tmobile actually has better data/voice coverage than VZW.
I think I'll take the extra dollars and get a nice big battery. I have no problem living with that for a year or two.
Are you doing their 4 lines/10gb special that they have going on? I saw it on their site the other day and was considering it. Not because of root, but because Verizon is becoming my least favorite company lately.
Are all the phones new? When I built the plan and added in new phones, I was only saving like 30 bucks difference from what we pay on Verizon for the same data and phones.
I am seriously considering doing the same thing. I'm looking into coverage maps now. Does anyone know some good, up to date (and unbiased) places to find coverage map comparisons for a particular area?

2 out of 3 are new. Note 4 new, note 3 certified, core prime (El cheapo, but ok android) new.
Hands down t-mobile wins speed tests here.
Vzw tried to save me. Told me their new plan would be awesome. I would go from 1 unlimited, 1 6gig and 1 2gig to 3 total gigs for the whole family. I said "that sounds crazy... ". They said... "no really, you can use wifi!!!"
I'm stupid.... but not THAT stupid.
And yes, it's the 10 gig/4 phones plan on tmo.
Just a quick follow up note on how my changeover (after 10 years with Verizon, with 5 household lines) turned out.
I'm sitting here with a brand new, rooted note 4 with a killer custom rom, set up exactly how I want it
-- on a much improved 5.1.1. Battery and lag issues: *Poof*
It gets better. I have an extra smartphone line in my 5 phone household... and I'm saving 50 dollars a month.
It gets EVEN better.
My employer can hear me now when I call into work. I wont miss them telling me my voice was "dropping out".
Oh, but it gets **MUCH MUCH** better.
In 10 years, I never saw over 20 Mbps from VZW, and most of the time at home, my Verizon wireless could have been beaten by an average Fischer-Price Modem(sic).
Fired up my new T-Mobile Note 4, turned off the home WIFI and ran the Ookla speed test. I almost fainted.

Ah ok. I live in southern California and get great coverage on verizon. I still have 2 lines on unlimited data, but if big red ever changes that I'm gone!

Same here. If ever they touch my data, my wife and I are out. I would not mind being able to have Root again. But for now, unlimited data is king. If only someone could find a way to turn all relevant radios for the Verizon network on one of the other networks phones. Then I would most definitely be getting another Note4. But it seems, even though there is a thread out there which proves it is possible, no one has tried. Oh well, it will happen eventually. Regardless, I still have Unlimited. To the OP, very happy you got more for less and better for that matter. I like to hear when those who can, do stick it to EVilrizon.

I was so done with Verizon screwing us over in terms of price, service, and locking down our phones that I threw away that unlimited line with all the others. Just look what it did to the character of this forum... it's a pretty dead place. 3000 posts in development here, 85000 posts in development at the T-mobile Note 4 forum. Verizon will lock down every significant phone into the future as quick as it can. I refuse to "moo".

I hear you on the being screwed part. Out of this world pricing. But, I just can not shake the unlimited data thing. $30 for unlimited? That is a good deal by pricing standards. But voice pricing? That is where I get screwed.

I am going to try TMO I think, especially since I'm not getting the Note 5. I have gotten the new release every year, but Sammy really screwed the pooch on this one.
Here is a question. Is there anyone here willing to try and unlock the appropriate radios on their TMobile Note4 to see if it works with a Verizon sim? I am getting fed up with this Verizon Note4. This lock down is unreasonable on so many levels.

You need to switch to a Tmobile 1 plan

Any idea if you already have t-mobile unlimited but want the pixel xl if you can still get a money back?
tmobile is pretty great, but this plan is pretty terrible
Pretty smart of them. They know a Pixel user is a power user, and trying to get them on this horrible plan.
From the fine print, you can only tether at 3g on this plan, compared to 4g/lte in my current tmobile plan. no thanks

John Legere stated on his Twitter that anyone can do it; even if you already have a Pixel AND the T-Mobile One plan. So I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. I confirmed with online reps that I can do it and I have both already. Pretty exciting to get a little back from the big cost. And I love my Pixel XL so it's worth it for me

When you're out and about yes it defaults to 480P, but you can go higher. On Wi-Fi it goes to normal viewing instantly. Seeing as how I do music more than video, it doesn't bother me. Plus I'm STILL paying less on T-Mo than I would be anywhere else. Still doesn't change my camera, screen, speeds, fingerprint scanner, etc.
You may want amazing quality all the time, but there are pros and cons to everything. Go "SYFH" at someone else... you're not discouraging me. :good:

All I see is more options, competition, which is better for us the consumers. :good:
Wonder if Sprint will jump in to the fray too..
AT&T with its 5 year exclusivity on Apple iPhones created a whole new industry. With its monopoly people worked on way to use them on other carriers and mvnos..
Ya...

How much data do you use in a month? I'm just curious; I did my research before switching to the One plans and I only use 10-12 so I was ok... my GF on the other hand is a champ and sometimes hits 20, but even then it's not the full 25.
The plan works for us but I can see how it wouldn't for some others.
I think I might do this. I never watch video on my phone when I'm out and about. Just audio. And I haven't used hotspot in like 2 years. Are there any other gotcha's w/T-Mo One?
Driving down the value of the Pixel in order to get people hooked into a ****ty service... this is only a win for TMobile. Been there done that. I used to travel a lot with two phones from different carriers and no Sprint or TMobile phone over the last decade came anywhere close to the level of quality my Verizon phone had. Cingular which became AT&T was the runner up. What's funny is people justify it by saying they pay less but it's not that much less. Just last year we switched 4 lines to sprint, they paid off all our VZW lines, gave us all new top of the line phones, and gave us twice as much data... but the bill was only 20 bucks a month less and the service was just as bad as it was years ago.... that "within 1 %" commercial is bogus as hell.

Yeah I haven't used tethering in a few years tbh so that's not a factor for me.
For those going over 25GB/month, what do you do on your phones?
I'm assuming the average smart phone user, works a 9 to 5 job and doesn't have time to view their phone all day. Then when they get home, I'm assuming they connect to WiFi.
