1. The few (2-3) percentages near 100% are usually (more likely always) not perfectly calibrated, so that initial change does not tell you anything else.
2. You can look among the apps listed in battery settings and see if something (like the media scanner) might have been running.
3. More relevant would be to check your battery consumption from under 95% and also over night - for instance my N9005 is dropping about 1% (or under) over about 8 hours at night (no WiFi or mobile data).

I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! And no! It is not normal! Something is wrong! When i bought my note 3, its could sit at 100% for several hours. With the exact same config and wakelocks, it's different now! I think it's MJ7 firmware. Are you on MJ7 firmware?

Even if you google "Note 3 MJ7 battery issues" you will see it. I'm actually tired of searching for a solution dat i have given up. I guess we can only hope that a newer firmware like MJ8 or so fixes it.
my iphone 5 only loses 1% in 7 hours of inactivity
I use my note 3 with data on all the time and my smart watch connected for around 5 hours a day and I still get 2 days out of the battery which I think it's pretty amazing considering what this phone does !!!!

Mine loses o lt 1 or 2% overnight while I'm sleeping (8 hours) and I have wifi and 3g/4g on.
Maybe it's an app that is constantly waking your phone?
Sent from my Galaxy Note 3 using Tapatalk
Anywhere up to 5% over a few hours is nothing.Especially considering 3G/Data/4G etc etc. -- If you are losing more than 5-10% per hour then you have issues.
My battery has been good to me, and I leave my WiFi cause my signal sucks at work. -- It'll drop quite quickly to around 70% or so then it seems to power on forever.
Wouldn't worry too much about it.
MK2 Firmware now Rolling out for SM-900. Hopefully it fixes the battery issue.

this time start use from93%
How much did you actually use your S2?
My guess is very little, look at the power use ratio of screen vs. cell standby, they are almost the same. Right my phone is 57% display vs. 3% cell standby.
This looks like barely open SGS2, no wifi , barely touched...
You have never touch your phone.....have you..?? Hey....enjoy your phone and have a normal life..........

Exactly, posts like this are tragic in my book, oh look how many hours i get, anyone can get that if you don't or barely use your phone.
Wow what a pointless first post.. Congratulations on not using phone..
Anyone could get battery life of xxx hours if they never use there phone, it's the screen on time that everyone cares about since generally people with such amazing devices rooted and pimped can't put there phone down...
I get 4:30 hours with CheckROM 4.0 and DK kernel, all values to stock... and that's with playing games! My battery is the stock one.
I guess with minimum brightness, underclock and undervolt and no games i can get 5+ hours but I wouldn't count that as normal usage either.
i charge mine everyday and always excited and looking forward to charging.

Fantastic....
If you wanted to buy a phone you aren't going to use and then brag about not using at all for 100 hours maybe next time you could review this?
Would make you look a fair bit less ridiculous, you would have got the same use out of it and would have saved you over £300...
The only great thing about having such a great battery life and not using your phone is if you end up losing it, which is unlikely if its lying there on the side all the time.. At least you know its bound to stay awake for a few days so you can send over Plan B and locate it. Funnily enough I went on a cruise this year, start of November and after 5 days of no use (being in the middle of the Ocean n all, i went to grab my phone from inside the suitcase to find it was still turned on, (i swore i turned it off) and the battery dropped no more than 40 percent. Was amazed to find it last so long, especially as i've not got the patience to leave it dormant for so long.
keep your galaxy off and the battery usage could be increased to a year lol
bought one of the best phone in the market and not using it all features? rofl
dont have what to say
This post is similar to "Hey look at my mileage of the car that is parked in the garage".
Kinda pointless imo.
Lot of comment you got there LOL
Mine are using about ½% per hour in standby (little sync, good 3G connection, no Wifi), so it might last for about 200 hours (8 days) ... if I ever should go into some kind of long lasting coma where I couldn't use my phone
Hey everyone,
My mom just got a new Note 3 (yay!), and I have been quite busy exploring all its features. One thing that is nagging me, however is that both the stock browser and chrome are using up a great deal of battery. Wifi is eating 1% Every 1-2 minutes and while using the browsers this is amplified to a percent every 30 secs!
Please help me.

Wifi has always been a battery vampire.
Do you have brightness set to 100%?
How far are you from the router? A bad signal uses more power.
Is anything syncing in the background?

I just don't understand why they don't use stronger batteries in the first place. I wouldn't mind carry along an additional let's say 50g in exchange for a longer battery life ...

At stand by, the Note 3 hardly uses 1-2% battery every 8 hours or so, but when it comes to calling (core function of the phone!) and wifi+browsers the battery suffers greatly. I haven't tested cellular data yet because of weak signals near my house. Should I let it drop to 0% and charge to 100% or get a new battery? Really disappointed with the battery.
As a general rule you should avoid full discharge/recharge cycles (except for things such as recalibration) as this in the long run shortens the batt's lifetime even more. So it's best to recharge it more often and keep it somewhere between 10-90%.

UPDATE
New update guys:
I left my phone with WiFi on for half an hour and it ate 3% battery from 50% to 47% which includes a phone call. And this time the phone was a bit further away from the router. So, I guess it's not the WiFi that's sucking the juice but the browsers.
Any fix for this?

Fixed
Hey,
Well the issue fixed itself. I now have WiFi running with Smart Screen, Air Gestures, Sync, Screen Rotating and using the web browser to do some surfing and battery hasn't dropped a percent since the last few minutes. It got fixed right after another (it's 3rd) charge and it's working now.
Guess I just needed to charge it a few times for it to work. If anyone else is having issues and have charged it only once or twice, try charging it again. Mine was at 47% when I charged.
Requesting a mod to lock this.
Hey all
I've been having massive issues with my battery life recently, it's never been great however it's actually gotten a lot worse post Kit Kat. I've taken a few screenshots on a few different apps like GSam Monitor, Wakelock detector and Battery Widget, I was wondering if somebody could help me diagnose the issue. Or at least just give me general insights into the numbers that I'm getting in terms of battery life.
EDIT: Just noticed a new issue where a couple of times my battery was somewhere in the 40's and then the phone crashes and when I start it back again it just has about 2 % battery left. Weirdly enough, after charging it for a couple of minutes, that battery now goes up to 30%. Would love to know if somebody has had a similar issue and what might be a way to go about trying to find some sort of solution.

same battery issue here. Its not because software. i tryed CM11m11, Ubuntu Touch, stock.. same problem. Im waitting new battery, because i was not that gentle with batteru when i was repalcing camera 15 days ago.
Usualy moment before phone restart, lose sim signal, then freeze and restart
If flashing stock doesn't resolve it, I'd say the battery is dying. I went from 2 hours between charges to 12-14 with a new battery.

My battery is also dying (switched to new phone now). It averages about 1 hour of SOT over several days and it's only wifi only. I guess I could swap out a fresh one but it goes to show that we need easily removable batteries but they just don't last that long.

It did. I've connected my LG G Watch to my N4 so Bluetooth, GPS and mobile data are always on.
But Facebook is a Batterykiller I'm working from 07:45am till 4pm and when I come home I've around 40%-50% battery left.

Around 3-4 hours when my Bluetooth, mobile data(3G) and gps is on. But I can't tell it exactly cause I'm not using it that much anymore cause my primary phone is the N5.
I replace battery, now everithing works perfect. It was battery problem, not software.
I've been waiting for my battery to die. This is my normal use. I just do what I normally do.
Streamed music to my car while driving for a while
browsed reddit/xda and other forums a lot... mainly on WiFi.
Had data/wifi disabled when I didn't need it on... really no point. Takes 3 second to enable it again

I have the moto Maxx, Mexican firmware. I´m from Argentina.
Could you tell me guys the version and the baseband of yours?
Because it seems that the latin america version the battery is barely poor.
Thanks!
Damn... Going beast mode with this battery. Would've gone longer, but gotta use it more tomorrow when I'm out. Ya, I know I only have 4hrs of SOT. Haven't been using much
I assume anyone getting more than 48 hours of battery life is turning off data, or at least disabling updates/background data. Just out of curiosity, do you always keep that turned off, or do you just do that when you're seeing how much you can squeeze out of the battery? In my mind, the big reason to get a device with a big battery is so you don't have to baby the battery like that.

I have never got more then 3-4 hours of SOT on my G2, i've used it for almost 2 years now. There were occasions where i got 5 hours of SOT, but those were exceptions(On Wifi, with very low brightness).. But then I'm a heavy user - lots of apps installed, around 2 hrs of music on my daily commute, Lots of time on G+/Instagram/Twitter/FB & 1-2 hours of calls. This combined with flashing of new ROMs every month or so. People posting 4-5 hours of SOT usually have lots of options disabled - Reduce brightness settings to lowest, Sync background data disabled, GPS disabled, On WiFi all the time, etc..
@mistororange Anything more then 3 hours of SOT, while you are using your phone through 3g/4g networks is pretty good, in my opinion. Only if you see drastic reduction in your battery life, then you should worry.
