Hey guys,
I very recently (with the help of a few well-informed xda members) flashed the paranoidandroid ROM to my Nexus 7. It came with the 'stock' Browser, as opposed to the Chrome that the Nexus 7 came with from the factory. I installed the chrome from the market, but it has a completely different UI. This isn't gamebreaking, but damnit did I LOVE the UI from the Nexus 7 rom.
I've done tons of searching, but can't find any info on it anywhere. (All I can find is the market version.)
The UI that I'm interested in is the Desktop-style one that the stock Nexus 7 rom had. With actual tabs, each with close buttons (almost like the standard android browser from 4.0 and before.) Does anyone know where to find/how to install this?
As I said. Not really a gamebreaker, but if it's possible, I'd much appreciate it.
---
Mods, if this is in the wrong place, I very much apologize. Move it if you have to.
You must have chrome in phone UI.
Go to the paranoid settings and change it to a tablet UI.
Hope that helps
what UI are you using with Paranoid? Phone/Phablet/Tablet?

I had the same problem too, I fixed it by going into Settings > Paranoid Android Settings, then Apps.
Select Chrome from the list. Swipe to the left until you see Layout/UI options, change 360px to 720px (or 600px will do). Click Apply at the top and click OK when asked to force close. That's all you should need to do.

Thanks, you guys. Much much better now. I love fancy swipey UIs as much as the next guy, but I really prefer a seamless ui between my tablet and desktop. I have that now. Again, thanks so much.
Good evening. Lastnight I updated my system to the latest CM - CM10.1-20121227 Nightly. Everything went smooth except an odd occurance is happening now. I noticed after the reboot, that all my 'favoriates' that I put on the home page bar (sorry new to N7 and not sure the proper name) disappeared, so I remade them and went about my business. Today after logging in, I noticed that they are gone again, so remade them and they seemed to stay put this time. But I just logged in again (after not using the tablet for about 4hrs) and yup you guessed it, they are gone! The only thing that stays on the bar is of course the 'button' that brings up the apps/widgets screen. So, what am I missing here? After the last 3 updates, I've never ran into this problem. Sorry for the noobish question, just new to the scene. Thanks in advance...
Are you talking about the 5ish icons at the bottom of the launcher? If you are, I think this is caused by a bug in the default launcher (see the comments at the bottom of this page http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/28994/ ). There are quite a bit of changes getting committed to trebuchet, and when using nightly builds, you are the beta tester. You can install a different launcher that has been tested by more people and is considered stable.

@Gianptune - Yes, the '5ish icons' at the bottom of the page. I knew after researching CM, that any nightly builds would be ' as is ' because they are considered work in progress, but I have CM selected to only notify me of when a 'stable' build is avail. Thanks for the link and can you tell me, or recommend a popular launcher to use? Did not know that you could replace that one. (BTW that link was broken on this puters IE). Thaks again

Awsome thanks much ...
Hi all,
Not to hijack the thread, its almost the same topic i would guess...
I was running 12.22.12 nightly, i think, and all was well until i updated to the 27th. that when i noticed problems with the shortcuts at the bottom as well. Tried to flash back to previous version and noticed that I lost the quick settings pull down (upper right, opposite of the notification pull down)
I have tried to flash every single CM10.1 i can find and not a single one would bring it back.
Has anyone ran in to that?
thanks
I had this issue going to 12/27 too. I did not have it happen on today's nightly however.

That's strange, on CM10.1 thread someone just reported it with latest build.
I dont know why, but when i install 12/15 unofficial CM10.1 build, the pull down is not available as well, yet i had that build for several days two weeks ago and everything worked fine.
basically any CM build i install does not have the pull down. only if i restore my backup of the stock rom it comes back.
Hey guys, so I would just like to start off by saying I am new to this rom (coming from CM11) and one feature I heard about and was looking forward to trying was the multiwindow feature. However, when I go to recent application and try long pressing to get the option it's no where to be found? I have the latest omnirom update for the Verizon galaxy nexus and I'm not sure if there is something extra I missed or might have to do somewhere in the settings to enable multi window ? If anyone knows the answer to this problem it would really help. Thanks to anyone who replies.
Multiwindow is still a WIP, so it doesn't come by default. You'd either have to add it and compile yourself, or find an unofficial build with it already in. That, or wait.

https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/1510/ - Progress is here. When you see this change to "merged", you'll see multiwindow on all devices with nightlies.
I like the aosp dialer. I have searched both xda and Internet to find out how i can get it on my phone with stock rom. I have tried to push Google dialer and contacts to system. I can install them but i can't use them because of fc.

You can move to aosp rom
AFAIK TW is too deep in the system, I think it is not possible without breaking something. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes i it is deep, therefore I didn't delete Samsung's dialer...etc. I am actually on aosp now. But sometimes I need s-pen, gear menager...

Yes I will also to move aosp. But as long as I have random reboot, I can't move. The most note 3 user have random reboot problems with aosp.

I think most of those random reboot issues are gone. I am on Slim rom, Lean kernel, and did not have any issues for weeks. It all depends if you are using 'nightlies', which might be unstable, or official releases. Every rom has official 'stable' release once in a while. Stick to that and you will not have any issues. If you install slim rom, go with weekly 7.9, not the latest 8.0 (new release, although stable, you should probably wait for 8.1 or 8.2). If you go with cyanogen, install M10 release. On top of that you might want to use stable kernel, such as lean kernel, for additional speed and battery life.

I will try it. Actually maybe I have tried it before. I guess reboot problems causes by bluetooth. It happens when I connect it to my car. Not always but often.
Btw, i have also a problem that exists in every aosp/cm rom. You know when you tap and hold an app from app drewer you have two options on the top of screen. One is app info and the other is uninstall. After a few reboots the options disapper. You can still move the icon to the top and choose one of options even these options are unvisiable.
Any help?
I don't use bluetooth, so I can not tell. As for the icon problem, never seen that before, but it is definitely related to the launcher. Which one were you using, stock, trebuchet, or nova? Slim comes with nova and doesn't have such issues.
I can confirm version 79 of xposed for ARM sdk22 as working. You'll find the downloads at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Perform a nandroid backup before beginning.
Download the xposed installer apk , install it, boot into recovery and flash the xposed v79 arm sdk22 .zip, clear cache and dalvik, then reboot phone and you are good to go! I know a lot of us have been waiting for this news so I figured I'd share.. Keep in mind, after you install the .zip and reboot the phone is going to take about 10 minutes to boot up but eventually it will, immediately afterwards the apps will be "optimizing" for about 15 minutes as it rewrites ART to include xposed. Now I am off to go install some modules! Later guys hahaha
Here is an Xposed Mod that will change carrier text in notification header, lock screen, and dial pad to anything you like. I changed mine to T-Mobile since MetroPCS is pretty much using their network. Edit (SystemUI) for header notification carrier text and lockscreen carrier text. For dial pad carrier text while connected to a call edit (Dialer). You will have to put in original name which will be MetroPCS and for custom text, enter whatever you like.

Big Thanks to: @liubaoyua
Anyone that has any useful stable modules, make sure to list them. Time to MOD
Snapprefs for Snapchat works too, so you can add it to that list ^^
Btw how do you get that "illest" and the leaf in the status bar? it looks cool cx
In the screen shot is the options for data signal in the pro version of Flat Style Bar Indicators xposed mod... Also I have Battery Home Icon in the screenshot. It turns your home button into circular battery meter. (look at my home button). This mod allowed me to free up status bar space and replace battery meter with day of week in the FSBI module. I highly recommend FSBI pro version and also pro version of Flat Style Colored bars. (This one adds colors to your status bar and nav bar for a more immersive look) .. I actually paid for those two when I had my old phone. Instead of explaining everything I have up and running so far, I'll post a screen shot of my modules screen.. One module that isn't on the screen shot is advanced power menu (apm). For booting into recovery, soft reboot etc... All of the mods shown I got directly from the xposed repo. I have my display setting to show experimental and beta mods as well as stable ones. But I've no issue with the mods that I've activated.. Not only on this phone, but I've used all these mods for numerous months on my old phone as well

I'm not sure if its going to be compatible with lollipop and or HTC sense, but I recommend to you a module called x blast (or maybe it's xblast) it has a whole slew of text editing options... I was using it with no issues on KitKat, but this module I notice hasn't been updated in awhile

Tried it and xblast has no effect on this device. Pretty much doesn't work. And it only changes header and lockscreen I believe. I believe custom text mod changes in any apk in app text and goes deep into the xml file. You can probably even change the hangouts text in the hangouts app into something like "Hanging" I haven't tried. But I'm sure you can, incredible mod. There also isn't too many mods for sense lollipop ?

Now that we have xposed, the only thing I miss from my old phone is ROMs with support for RRO layers.. I guess I'm never content. It's always SOMEthing missing with me lol

I was interested because I seen some m9 roms like viper rom has it built in the system settings and it's based off sense. I tried doing it without any mod and it's headache dealing with Java and SDK. I'm looking to see if I can port cm12.1 or cm13 on this device but I know it's not easy. I'm just a novice user, but I wanna start developing.

I wish I could help. Developing is way outside my realm of knowledge. Would a CM build be your best chance of getting it done? I know its a personal preference, but I've preferred slim base and AOSP base over CM base as far as lollipop goes. (Slim had RRO when I was using it) . but to see ANY base Marshmallow build on this mid range phone we own would be killer!

I think they're all aosp based. Slim and cm is aosp based. I think it all depends on what kinda feature they bring. RRO layers is easier to code than cm themes I believe. I highly doubt I go into building a rom because I don't have any help and barley know anything about linux lol. I also don't have time to learn and do it. I wish I could lol. ?
I totally get it bro
working on t-mobile 626s too
I can confirm this is working on the Boost Mobile 626s variant as well.

EdeWow. This whole forum is pretty much dead. I wont be in this forum any more since i picked up an LG G3 which i love. I got a sweet deal on it because the usb port is broken. (I picked up an external charger) . If anybody needs to reach me which i doubt. Feel free to inbox. I recommend this G3 though. If you can get your hands on one, and dont mind switching to at&t or tmobile, do it. I rooted and installed recovery in less than ten minutes.. Incredibly easy. I never thought processor power mattered... Boy was i wrong. Nandroids took 1200-1500 seconds. On the G3 78 seconds... Thats insane. But anyways. Happy trails my Desire friends. Happy new year. I will come by and browse and try answer questions from time to time

Nice I like LG..I have an LGV410, and it gets cm13. I actually wanna get an LG phone. I want an unlocked optimus pro the notification light is sick on that phone. I got this phone because I couldn't pass on a $40 offer. So I picked it up, this phone hasn't let me down. Now it's time to max out your g3 software.
Yeah I had a similar situation... Cheap price and couldn't pass up.. I love how loud this thing is...Here is what I got on it right now. As soon as my simple mobile sim arrives I'll be making it my DD. Total bummer that metro won't let me use it.. 60 dollar unlimited plan really is the best deal around..
I want to make sure I am doing this correctly because flashing this zip via twrp takes up half of my internal storage memory (System & Other is using 4.36gb) despite the zip being about 3mb and seems to continue "eating it" even while I'm not touching anything.
I'm on stock rom w/ root and no nandroid backups or anything in my internal storage.
