[HELP!] Halfbricked my Kindle Fire HD 7. Can only access TWRP. - 7" Kindle Fire HD General

Hello,
Yesterday i tried to load a Cyanogenmod custom Rom on my Kindle Fire HD (7") and followed an instruction to do so. I rooted the Device via ADB and FlashFire11. The KindleFireFirstAide tool was part of the tutorial but i didn't really understand how to use it. However, in FireFlash11 i installed a file called kfhd7-freedom-boot-7.4.3.img as the main Boot section and a file called kfhd7-twrp-2.4.4.0-recovery.img as recovery section. Before that i put a file with the custom ROM (cm-10.2-20131115-UNOFFICIAL-tate) on the sdcard.
Everything worked fine (after some troubleshooting) and finally i booted with that blue "Kindle Fire"-symbol. In the TWRP (v2.4.4.0) menu i installed the custom ROM. everything worked fine. Android loaded safely.
My mistake was that i wanted to install a new version of the cyanogenmod (cm-11-20131126-UNOFFICIAL-tate.zip). I wiped all the userdata and tried to insall it via TWRP. But this time it said "Fail".
Now i have no ROM installed. The Device will only boot into TWRP.
The only ROM i have saved to the SDcard is the failing ROM. Under the point "reboot" in the TWRP menu i can choose "Bootloader" wich works.
I desperately tried figuring out how to get the files from a working ROM on the device to install it via TWRP, but i cant access the device via ABD. But one thing does work: If i set the device to "Bootloader"-Mode, i can access it via KFFirstAide. With option 10 of the KFFA i can reboot the Kindle in normal mode. This proofs to me, that i can access the Device in a way. Isn't it possible to send the working ROM Data to the Device via Fastboot?
Sorry for my limited knowledge in this area. And sorry for my bad English, i'm from germany
Would be so nice if anyone could help me. If you need more information on my case i will post it immediately.
For clarification:
I need to know how i can load a custom ROM on the Device to Flash the Device Succesfully. Unfortunately the Device doesn't appear in the Drive Selection of my Windows (8.1). In the Device Manager it is featured as "Kindle Fire HD 7" with a little triangle. During boot the Kindle appears for short period of time as ADB-Device.
I need access to the SDcard of the device to load the working ROM on it. But how do i get access?
EDIT2:
I found a thread about fastboot commands. There is a command as following: fastboot -i 0x1949 update <filename>. Is this a way to install a ROM using fastboot, or is there no way to install a ROM via fastboot?
SOLVED:
I found out that the device had to be accessable (ADB) while in recovery. So looked at my ADB drivers. in a thread there was posted, that TWRP 2.4.4.0 is to old for the newest ADB-driver (which i had installed). So i installed older ADB drivers. Then the device was recognized as ADB Interface. I used the command "adb push" to load the working files to the sdcard. In TWRP installed the Cyanogenmod and now everything boots and works fine
thanks

Only root exists for the 2013 KFHD7 at this time. No custom ROM's yet.

[Q] Any Suggestions?

I recently rooted my kindle no problems and installed android market and TWRP with no problem using kindle fire utility but one day i accidently pressed 4 on the Kindle fire utility and it did the stock update.zip on my kindle and i lost my root + TWRP recovery but regained root access by using kindle utility again but i cant seem to get TWRP back on there. every time i go to press 5 for install twrp it says TWRP img found and tries to install but i end up waiting forever and i power off and on like it says any suggestions?
I was never able to get TWRP to install with KFU. I eventually gave up using KFU and just installed it manually, which isn't hard to do at all:
http://liliputing.com/2011/12/how-t...ire-backup-restore-flash-custom-firmware.html
a few notes on the link: there is a typo in there, make sure you type adb. another suggestion i'd make is to put the img in the platform-tools folder

[Q] cannot install TWRP

I am trying to install TWRP on my dad's kindle fire. when he got the kindle fire, his jobs computer support guys installed clockworkmod and market on the kf. now i am trying to install TWRP and i always get stuck at (idme) permission denied and can't carry on. i have been trying to get this working for days now .. and i have not posted enough to ask questions in dev. so can anyone please tell me how to use the current recovery or how to restore the kindle to complete factory setup so i can install TWRP
i am running a window 7 32bit and ubuntu 10.04

it dose not go to fastboot
to switch to fastboot use:

maybe you would have to update the drivers at this point

DO NOT FACTORY RESET without doing a lot of reading first and understand the implications. In many circumstances, that is a quick way to make the problem worse. It could remove SU and ADB communication.

Can ADB/Fastboot be used on Linux and Mac?
You will need a way to copy Stock Firmware file to a SD Card
You will need a few files
Drivers
Stock Firmware
update-kindle-37.5.2.2_user_522054520.bin.zip - AFH -
Custom recovery I used Twrp
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip if you want to root
Open Gapps zip if you want Google Services (I suggest ARM/5.1/pico)
Instructions
Install Drivers
Change Stock Firmware file extension from .bin to .zip
Copy Stock firmware to sd card
Insert SD Card in the KFFOWI/Ford
Boot to Fastboot Mode
Boot Custom Recovery
In Custom Recovery, Install Firmware.zip, SuperSU.zip, GApps.zip
Reboot
I covered most of these steps in

Note: I have tested this method by
Installing CM12.1, Booting cm12.1, Factory Reset in twrp, Rebooted, Installed Stock Firmware (nothing extra), Booted Stock Rom. It is possible that this method does not restore everything or reflash all partitions, but everything appears to work correctly.

Can I perform a full, stock recovery on 5.1.1?
I lost some stock Amazon apps (launcher, Amazon Video) during Root using AutoRootScriptFirev4.12.
I have used ADB to restore the 5.1.1 Update but it returns still missing the apps deleted during Root and no Launcher.
Both factory reset & sideloading the 5.1.1 Bin restore my tablet still with missing components.
Is 5.1.1. only an update and not the full restore?

I installed the OS from Amazon OS 5.1.2 to Android 5.1.1. (Lollipop). It worked a few days and started intermittently working sensor and I decided to reinstall another Android 5.1.1. After reinstalling the tablet does not turn on. Then I went in fastboot and through ADB installed Amazon OS 5.1.1.
The result: the tablet when turn on does not show screen AMAZON, that is does not react to pressing the power button. When connected to the computer constantly appears and disappears "PreLoader USB VCOM Port".
Tell me, please, how can I restore the tablet after that?

i have the same problem. So far the only fix is to order a used motherboard on the web and hope it isn't bricked. Amazon should really release a program to return the device to stock from the PreLoader USB-MTP mode.

Amazon has a generous 'no questions asked' exchange policy during the warranty period which runs 90 days to 2 years depending on model and region. Device is not intended for enthusiasts as evidenced by aggressive lockdowns. Why would any company in their right mind release such a tool given the target audience?
Bricked my tablet but I'm able to boot into fastboot mode
Hello,
I have just softbricked my tablet because the wrong OpenGapps were flashing.
The problem is I can't start a custom recovery because the boot loader is too new
And I can't access my stock recovery because I've tried flashing TWRP from it in the past.
What can I do now? As I said earlier, I can access the device using Fastboot commands, but I don't know how to get at least one ADB interface working on the tablet so that I can upload the stock image to the device.
Thanks for any help!

You will not be able to reload stock FireOS from fastboot as the necessary commands have been disabled by Amazon. Pretty much game over if you can not access stock recovery and bootloader version is >5.0.x.
Can you describe "softbricked" symptoms in more detail? At what point during boot process does device hang/loop?

OK. So I wanted to install the new Fire Nexus Rom and I may have installed the wrong package or something, but the symptoms are the following:
When I press the power switch, it turns on. Then the Amazon logo appears and after about 10 seconds the screen goes black again. The whole thing then repeats itself in a boot loop
i flashed stock update-kindle-37.5.2.2_user_522054520.
following a link in the forums
had to do it for pokemon
can i just flash any newer version as well this way or will ability to fastboot boot twrp then be gone?

[2017] Root Kindle Fire HD 6 4th gen tutorial

Hi,
This is my first post here but I have gotten so much help I wanted to give back. I have been working on rooting my Kindle fire HD 6 over the last couple days and after searching multiple tutorials I have successfully rooted with these steps.
To begin:
1. You MUST backup any data on your device before starting this process
2. Download all the files from here and Fire OS 5.4.0.0 here
3. Get your downgrade here
3. Follow the instructions below (modified from user @marathonjon reply here https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/how-to-upgrade-to-lollipop-root-gapps-t3163950/page54)
Here we go for the install:
1. Enable ADB on your device and set up ADB on your computer
2. Download 4.5.3 firmware (you should already have it from the download above)
3. Connect device to computer and run "adb reboot recovery" (assuming you have adb enabled on your tablet)
4. Use volume keys and power button to navigate to "Apply update from ADB"
5. From computer type "adb sideload update-kindle-20.4.5.3_user_453011120.bin" (the files need to be added to the same folder your terminal is currently running or you can specify the file path)
6. From tablet select "wipe data/factory reset" (this is why we did the backup earlier)
7. From tablet select "reboot system"
8. Complete setup (do not connect to a wifi network yet, this is very important!)
9. Disable OTA updates ( adb shell ; pm block com.amazon.dcp or "Debloater"), I used the above jmz Kindle fire tools to disable the OTA, just sideload it and you are good to go.
10. Sideload Kingroot & let it root (this can take a while, just let it go)
11. Flash openrecovery-twrp-2.8.6.0-ariel.img TWRP image via Flashify (backup stock recovery first, again very important!!) (you will need to sideload the included Flashify APK)
12. Download all files above and place them in the Download directory of your kindle
13. Boot into TWRP, flash 4.5.3_twrp_recovery_full_ariel_string.zip. (use adb reboot recovery for this)
14. Do factory reset using the default TWRP wipe settings
15. Flash FireOS 5.4.0.0 (rename *bin to *zip so that TWRP can recognize it)
16. Flash 5.5.2_1534_stock_recovery_uboot.zip, this will put the required 5.3.1 bootloader back(PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DO THIS STEP!!)
17. DO NOT REBOOT YET! If you do you will probably lose root!
18. Flash Supersu.zip (included in the download
19. Clear cache/dalvik in TWRP
20. Reboot to recovery: adb reboot recovery. This will be stock recovery now because TWRP doesn’t boot with 5.x bootloaders.
21. Reboot to FireOS (could take ~15 minutes, it might seem like it is stuck in a boot loop but it will go)
The above instructions served me well, as with all posts on this site PLEASE USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! And post any questions below
I just followed your tutorial and it worked for me... Amazon has FireOS 5.4.0.1 for the update file now and it still worked following your steps. Thank you!
Could I keep root without updating to 5.4?
---------- Post added at 06:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 AM ----------
Also Kingroot fails. Was the exploit is uses patched?
Bricked Device(unbricked it with DoLooper tutorial) improvising,Step 9 says sideload JMZ Tools how do you do that without connection? only way i can think is es explorer which you have to have connection to install
Any news on this? Thinking of attempting
I attempted this to downgrade from rooted 5.12 to 4.53 so that I could install twrp and get to the latest load.
I am stuck on step 8. After I flashed 4.5.3 and wiped, I attempted to sideload kingroot and the jmz utility but they did not install. I imagined that it failed because they are from unknown sources and that setting is disabled once 4.5.3 is loaded. So I rebooted with wifi off, attempted to adb reboot recovery, and I got to a recovery menu with 2 options, none of which are adb sideload.
How can I proceed? If I enable wifi to download kingroot, it will attempt to update, correct?
EDIT - I enabled wifi to download kingroot apk since I can't sideload it, and surely enough an update to 4.5.5 downloaded. Damn.
RE-EDIT--I just caught my initial mistake. I used the command adb sideload for kingroot and jmz instead of adb install. Another damn. I am downloading kingroot and rooting while the update to 4.5.5 awaits installation, which I won't do.
It boot me into kids edition...?

Does this work on the Fire OS 5.6.0.1 that was sent out this year?

IDK, it has been awhile since I ran this and I have not stayed up to date on the latest firmware. As always you can try it at your own risk and post any questions here. I will do my best to answer.
I do not recommend trying this if you rely on the tablet for anything, things can go wrong and you could lose everything including the tablet.
Have Fun!
On step 15, does it have to be 5.4.0.0? I'm having trouble finding a download for it since the link in OP leads to 5.6.0.1
edit: found a link (https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/general/fire-hd-8-2017-downgrade-to-5-4-0-0-5-6-t3719639) but it's for FIre HD 8. Will that work or does it need to be specifically for the HD 6?
edit2: nevermind, didn't look hard enough, found it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/fire-hd-rom-links-t3173102

Yes, that is the latest version that is still root-able I believe.
Still works with update 5.6.1.0
Still works thanks alot!
Yup, worked for me as well. Thanks @RobbotCC from another CMH kindle newbie
Stuck on step #13
My KF HD 6 gen 4 shows it is running OS 4.5.3. I can boot into TWRP. ADB sees my device. I need to add ".\adb" before ADB commands.
The problem I'm having is that I cannot flash the TWRP 4.5.3 recovery. When I have the TWRP launcher showing and type " .\adb reboot recovery" the system reboots right into the TWRP launcher. When I power off then on, it boots right into the Fire OS. I never see the system recovery screen, so I can't flash the recovery zip file.
Help? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
