Well folks
last chance for this phone. as now bloody fed up of it..
I am using ginger m2s or whatever its called rom
And now the only way I can boot the damn phone is either without the sdcard in or with the android-secure folder deleted...
If I move just one app to sd card then forget rebooting phone as its thats bad and will simply not boot up, well it does but soon as phone is ready it reboots again..
Tried 4 different sd cards and same result...
does anyone have any ideas at all as to why this is happening?
regards
Lohtse
If it's on bootloop, you can try clearing cache.
Did that many times before posting...and if was cache related it wouldn't matter if android-secure file was present on sd card...

If you haven't already, try another ROM and see if the problem still exists. Maybe a lower class card might solve the problem. If not, then it's mostly the hardware which is causing that.

I have a very annoying problem with my HD....after a few days of using a ROM, the phone suddenly decides to hard reset itself. Often it is when it is booting up, it will just about finish and then reset, and then go through the setup routine again like it has just been flashed.
Even worse, is that when it does this it formats my SD card, sometimes so it is not even partitioned any more I have to format it again, and obviously everything is gone. Even tried running some data recovery software but it can't recover my stuff.
This is seriously annoying me, anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Does this mean that you've recently flashed a custom ROM? If so, it sounds like you need to try a different one and, if it keeps happening, flash the original ROM back on it and get it replaced as faulty.
Sounds a pain in the arse (not literally)!
Yes it has a custom ROM, but this happened once when it still had a stock ROM on, and has happened using several different custom ROMs.
I guess the phone may be faulty, I can't understand why it formats the card when it does it, not good!

Yeah - I wouldn't even put a card in that phone again. Afraid it does sound like a warranty replacement, assuing you've got a warranty.
Good luck mate!
I'm serious. It's slow everything force closes and I figured now that cyanogen had his new build of Froyo....I could give the kang o rama a try. but everything is still force closing and I have no idea how to fix it and I'm about ready to just give up :/
What do I do?
Are you completely wiping everything before you install a rom?
Give yourself a wipe, or at least a cache partition wipe
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
if its slow then something is using a large amount of cpu power.
I just caught Flickie doing it (thanks to CPUStatusLED)....but it stopped before i got to uninstalling it.
Backup your apps, wipe everything data, ext, cache..then install a ROM.
My phone was freezing/rebooting 3-10 times a day before I did the above and now its quite stable.
EVERYTHING has been wiped. Dalvik, cache, Factory reset, everything I could do without doing anything to the SD card.
I'm seriously at a loss for words.
Currently on kang o rama's 2.2 cyanogen build A2 btw is what I'm trying to work with. Though it has been no different for other roms. I Mean it's so unresponsive and always force closes everything
2.1 works ok ?
2.2 doesn't you say? after all wipes and a clean install of Cyanogen and other ROMs? How about stock Froyo FRF91?
It may be a hardware error if the stock one doesn't work. So even if you got an unlocked phone, Google/HTC should replace it because it's hardware. If you're installing it wrong SOMEhow.. then that's another story.
EDIT: NVM believe I found it
I just went through this.
Just download the PASSIMG.ZIP from the latest Eclair build and put it on the root of your SD card. Go into bootloader and it will automatically pick it up.
In a minute you'll be at stock Eclair. By the time you can get into the Settings menu, you'll have the majority of FRF91 downloaded. Let it do its thing and probably within 5 minutes you'll be sitting pretty on a stock FRF91 Froyo build.

If you've used the Froyo App2SD function, then you might need to delete your .AndroidSecure folder on your SD card after a flash.
I never touched that folder and the last few times I flashed a ROM I was getting weird problems where I couldn't install things, it would hang, I would get FCs, etc. I deleted that folder, rebooted, and everything was cleared up for me.
...Of course you'll have to install those apps again.

Yea thats a good idea. The short time I've been on Android, it seems like A LOT of CRAP gets brought into new builds. Everytime I flash a new rom, the Market downloads all the crap from before. lol.
While I can see it as being a nice feature, it can get troublesome. When my replacement Nexus comes tomorrow, I'm going to backup my APK files and format my SD card. Start completely from scratch on Froyo 2.2
Usually I have NO problem hunting for things myself...but I DO NOT AT ALL...see this "Passimg" in that thread.
ANYWAYS I'm gonna try reflashing the radio to see if that helps
This is why I just use stock stuff, I want my phone to just work

And you're sure your N1 isn't defective?
Other then the occasional data connection failure...yea Eclair worked perfectly.
And sriously...guys I need the effing stock rom image I wanna try something else BUT I don't have it.
Oh yea. AND NOW I'm trying to reinstall the apps but it says out of space...and I can clearly see I have 111 mbs of internal storage. I think it's installing it on the SD card. IDK HOW TO MAKE IT STOP and I'm so frustrated I'm about ready to dump my n1. I've been screwing with this forever and I was excited. The first build of Cyanogen and nothing works...

Wipe, install rom, reboot and hold volume down to load the bootloader, power off in bootloade, pull battery, remove microsd, replace battery, boot and set it up. See what happens.
you might just have a faulty hardware (bad ram or something)

I'm betting it has something to do with data saved on the sd. . .
Hi all,
I have a problem with my sd card. It's not recognized by my HD2 WP7!
So I searched on xda forum and other forum, and I saw that I need to reformat my card with specific tools and specific options... OK for that.
My question is: Do I need to flash my phone again with the new SD card or is it possible to get it recognized by the phone without a new flash?
Thanks for your help
Regards

Did you have it in your phone the first time you turned on wp7? It needs to be in the phone when it first turns on and you go through the phone setup. WP7 uses it as internal memory, so you can't remove it while running wp7, either. You can go to settings and go to about (I think that's what it is), then reset your phone. It will ask for confirmation twice, then will do a factory reset... make sure the card is in when you do this.

Yes. But the first card didn't worked, the wifi was always disconnected... so I changed and the wifi worked correctly but the storage space of WP7 doesn't use my sd card space... So I bought a new one, formatted it correctly and tried to use it in my phone and the result is the same.
If I reset the phone, will I have to reinstall chevronwp7?
Thanks for your help!!!

Why would he have to reflash? resetting does the same thing... I've always been able to restart everything by resetting.
And yes, to op, I think you have to chevron unlock it again after resetting, because a reset sets everything back like you just flashed again. When you tried a different card, did you hard reset it?
aye, reflashing isnt needed unles your original Flash was corrupted somehow or your upgrading the ROM, just do a hard reset, hold VOl down and VOL up when powered off and tap the power button, follow instructions.
Hi all,
Yes I tried a hard reset but nothing changed, my phone was still configured as if I had'nt hard reset it...
I'll giv it another try today!
Thanks everybody for your help!

How did you hard reset it? I always just went to settings, then to "about" I think it was... where ever it is that shows you how much memory is on your phone. Then hit reset there. It will tell you that all data will be erased and will ask you to confirm twice. Did you do it that way? Make sure the card is in when you reset. It might be a good idea to format card in computer first too.

i like to start from scratch to know where i went wrong, cause sometimes even I
skip steps thinking i know to much already.
Anyone else getting this? Every time I reboot my galaxy S4 device I get the error notification that my SD card is corrupt and requires re-formatting. I go ahead and try a reboot and everything is fine after that and all my files are present and accesible on the SD card.
Every time I want to reboot I end up having to reboot twice to get the SD card back.
Canadian device, all stock and no root. Using a Sandisk 64gb SD card.
I had such problem once on my SGS3 , sdcard wasn't seated well , could be something else but doesn't hurt to try.

I'll pull it out and check the pins and try to make sure it goes back in perfect. Thanks for the suggestion.
I was having problems with my sd card when I had custom kernel just deleted all the hacks and removed super su. Odin back to stock did a factory reset rerooted froze updates restored all my apps from backup and all's good. No more problems. Guess I'm staying away from all that kernel stuff for now.

I've decided to instal custom ROM. After some time i has cant acces my sd card data, but it was shown in setting. When i tried to enter options, the settings app crashed. I did reboot, of course, and it disappeared. Now I cant use any sd card on my phone. Did a hard reset, but it is not detected even on TWRP! Any ideas, guys?

If TWRP can't see it, I am afraid it's broken but Try to remove it and replace several times, nothing to loose now
The SD slot is very fragile on x play, I am always very careful whit it

Dont know but to be sure that you need repair : try an other sdcard on your phone, or try your sdcard on other phone, may be it's only your card
I've tried this card on other phone (moto g3) and works fine...
Same issue with me too..
Tried lineage 13.1,14.1 and spectrum too. Still it's not detecting SD card. It seems it happened after the latest security patch update. I also tried stock 5.1 yet card is not recognised.
