Hey,
I'm fairly new to this scene and i have the Canadian (Bell) Galaxy S4.
Today I rooted with Chainfire's CF-Auto-Root and saw that I can't boot into my stock recovery anymore.
Would reflashing stock firmware through ODIN bring my phone back to factory settings with a working stock recovery?
I think I want to hold off on rooting and playing with ROMs for a while till I'm more comfortable.
Thanks!

Yes it will. Or, through Odin, you can install a custom recovery like twrp, or philz recovery and use those. But if you want stock recovery back, just reflash the stock firmware.

Hi,
I'm currently downloading the firmware for my Note 3 from SamMobile.
I was going to flash back to stock, and assume by doing this I would lose root.
What would happen about me having TWRP installed? I know the Note 3 has Knox, so would I get stuck in a bootloop or anything else bad by having a custom recovery on a stock, unrooted phone?
Thanks.

Yeah root will go and twrp
Thanks for that. Losing root wouldn't be a problem, I was just worried about what would happen if twrp stayed in the phone. I didn’t realise flashing back to stock would also put the stock recovery back on my phone too

i was trying to switch from 5.0 lollipop to 4.4.4 ricks rom but i think i went straight there even though i flashed the nk2 kernel because my basebend was still OC4 so i attempted to fix it by flashing the nk2 firmware when safestrap came up i created a rom slot 1 then i wiped everything hit the reboot into download button and reflashed the nk2 firmware again and now my phone is stuck on the screen that says samsung galaxy s5 custom (with the lock right above it) and below that powered by android and when i try to go into download mode it sends me to boot maitnence and i can only pick reboot normally factory reset and reboot in safe mode and none of them help or allow me to get back into download mode and the recovery menu wont come up either (volume up home and power button) any help is greatly appreciated
edit: i am able to get into download mode by goin into the maintence screen and doing the volume up and power button first then press and hold the home button but no matter what i flash it seems to be stuck at the bootloop (if thats what its even called its more of a screen loop lol)

Try starting over. Go here and down to notes #4. Flash the NCG full Odin tar and re-root. Start from scratch.

If you are rooted and flash the firmware from the link he provided, you should boot up to where you can go into safestrap recovery (before your phone boots all the way up). You then flash his ROM in safestrap and you should be good.
Use the stock slot.
i just flashed the regular ncg stock kernal and it didnt do anything it put my on the samsung galaxy s5 custom screen with recovery booting in blue at the top ill try flashing the stock nk2 one and then reflashing the NCG one

You need to flash the NCG full Odin tar, not just the kernel. Then root your phone again.

See my post #2. Flash that full Odin tar. You will be on 4.4.2 with no root. Re-root your phone. (Towelroot, install SuperSU from play store, update the binaries, reboot phone, install busybox and install safestrap. Then you Odin the NK2 firmware from RicksRom post. Before your phone boots all the way up, hit the safestrap recovery button. From there you do a full wipe, then install RicksRom.

I need to remove TWRP recovery from my phone but can't find the 5.0.1 stock recovery. What would be the quickest way to get stock recovery back? I recently upgraded to an S6 so I don't have any of my firmware saved on my pc anymore.
Installing stock rom. I don't know if you can have stock recovery with custom roms.

I don't have a custom rom on my phone. I think I just used TWRP to root it (it was a while back so I can't remember).
Guys i have 910F...Running ANK4 KITKAT. I tried to root it with CF-Auto-Root-trlte-trltexx-smn910f. The rooting tutorial said i had to disable auto reboot and should perform a battery pullout after rooting....everything went fine untill i pulled out the battery and put it back in after root...the phone turns on and says "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" And just restarts...i am stuck in a bootloop whenver i try to root it.....i was able to get the phone back online after flashing stock 4.4.4 in ODIN, but what am i doing wrong here....why cant i root this phone?
This happened to me yesterday - you cannot root a stock rom v5.1.1 with CF Auto Root, if you try it will end up in a bootloop. There is a way around this if you search the Note 4 CF Auto Root thread - pages 121 and 124 if i remember rightly.
But i am not on 5.1 i am on stock 4.4.4....anyone else might wana help?

4.4.4 what the hell is that?
If you try gingerbread, you will never update a rom. The best android on earth. (just after the eclair, froyo was a major disappointment)

Are you trying to keep a stock ROM and root it?
I would upgrade to lolipop. I run AICP on my n910f and I love it, best ROM for our phone at the moment in my opinion. To go to a custom lolipop from kitkat you'll need to first flash a lolipop stock ROM, here Then you can flash your custom recovery via odin. Then you can flash any custom ROM via zip file from your recovery software as usual. Custom ROMs are usually rooted by default already so once you've flashed it you're already rooted. If you search the forum you can find a rooted stock ROM if that is your preference.

Did you try a factory data reset after using autoroot? Go into the stock recovery and do a factory data reset after auto root and it may boot after that. If you want to keep 4.4.4 stock ROM then just flash an already rooted stock ROM. They're in the ROM section for your device. That's what I would do if you're having issues with cf auto root.
Hi everyone,
I am trying to unroot my device to go back to stock firmware. I did that by odin but recovery is still "zenlte"
i also used smart switch resit the device but still the recovery is the custom recovery.
Is there a way to go back to stock recovery?
Hi
so i have made the experience that if i flash the stock firmware from Sammobile, the recovery is going to be the old stock one, but you should make a Backup first. I can't guarantee that it will work.
Maybe you can also only flash the stock recovery .. I've never tried this cause i always wanted to have a rooted phone.
Thanks Lecani
Actually I flashed stock firmware from Sammobile but the recovery is not affected, still custom recovery.
Where can I find stock recovery for S6 edge+ (SM-G928C)?
Thanks

I guess having custom recovery after flashing the stock firmware is impossible. Recovery.img is included in stock firmware as far as i remember. Maybe you can try pick the stock recovery.img from the firmware, make is flashable tar and do that way. I have flashed stock firmware bunch of times and each time recovery came stock unless i flash twrp.
