missed call unlocks screen - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, when i get a missed call on stock android 4.4, the screen simply gets unlocked. It can do crazy things if the phone is in ur pocket. right now I am using an app to prevent such thing but if somebody suggests me which apk needs to be modified it will be highly appreciated.

Lol, u here too, good.
I have seen lots off N5 users complaining about it. Even a google employee has submitted a patch for this but for that I need to build from aosp source.
strange that u and some others not facing it. bdw it only happens on stock rom with slide lock. pattern lock, pin lock and others dont have this bug.
I will upload that patch when I get on pc. Have also requested for an xposed module for this.

It's happening on Purity as well, so it must be a problem on Google's end.

what does that patch do? and how can we patch it manually?

It's possible to make a flashable zip from this patch ?

Same here. This is annoying. Hope to get the fix soon on stock 4.4

As you know this has been already brought to attention of Google and they will provide the OTA soon.
For now you can use this app and set the time to 1 sec.

There's a touchscreen fix in the development section. Install the apk there and follow the instructions.
Ok thank u will download now, by the way, does upgrading the firmware get rid of this issue or is it handset related?

In fact it's a feature for better differentiate simple clicks from scrollings, so Samsung will probably have it in all his firmwares, and you'll have to install the fix on every wipe(it isn't permanent).
Well ive tried it and it still feels the same, quite juttery on homescreens??
App drawer and menu is fine its just a prob with the homescreen being juttery.

Benchmarks don't mean anything. Plus you can't judge a phone running a different version of android against another, you will never have a semi accurate reading. I don't have lag in the playstore so it could be caused by your WiFi, data connection or possibly the stock rom. I am running AOKP which has been great.
This phone doesn't like to be overclocked either so I don't recommend trying that at this time and I believe most kernels removed the option too because people were overclocking then running benchmarks which killed their phones. Use MSKIPS Nexus 4 tool to root and install CWM, its the simplest way to do this.

I think I see what you mean now but in that thread MSKIP himself says this quote below. Once you use his toolkit give him a thanks. That guy really deserves it for the hardwork he puts into his toolkits and support.

I have posted in the thread a few times that V1.3.0 works perfectly with Android 4.2.1 you just need to select 4.2.0 from the model selection screen and everything will work fine. The root files and insecure boot image for JOP40C and JOP40D are exactly the same.

Lag? Are you serious? This thing flies and is so responsive..
Check your apps that are running in the background and keep Google currents from running auto updates. If you are experiencing lag it is your apps, not the phone..

mine isnt that responsive. i find myself making a slew of double and triple clicks. not to mention the pinch to zoom and scrolling responsiveness blows chunks for everyone.
I have none of these issues and it sounds like you are talking about screen sensitivity and not the cpu..
And apparently it cannot "blow chunks" too badly or you would return it.
I think these issues are all blown out of proportion. I don't see many or any actually that are parting with the Nexus 4 due to these things.. Personally I don't notice any lagging at all and the touch screen sensitivity really isn't something related to the lagging the op was referring to mentioning benchmarks anyways .

Play any type of game that uses the CPU intensively. Once the thermal throttling kicks in, you'll notice the stutter.
And the zooming sensitivity is out of whack. It's like i have to molest and grope my screen in order to get the same distance that I would get from my N7000 with a slight pinch-to-zoom.
Moved to Q&A as this is where you ask questions. Please post in the relevant sections going forward.
Thanks
AvRS
I have played many games with no lagging issues or touch screen issues..

Google needs to put it in aosp as soon as possible. I wish they didn't kill off cornerstone as that was originally going to be part of cm but google told them to cease and desist.
Google would have to develop that from scratch, because that's Samsung-proprietary code.
Also, I hope that Google does NOT clutter up Android with stuff like this, for this we have ROMs like PA (which is already stuffed full of features that it barely works as a daily driver).

Paranoid android was great when it was based on cm. Its in 4.2 when they tried to go aosp and make their own tweaks that it became a mess. They need to go back to cm or switch to AOKP(uses CMs main code).
It wouldn't be that difficult to implement multi window. The cornerstone code would be a good starting point and android apps already scale to different resolutions without an issue.

Pac Man Rom S view case

Hi guys so i installed the PAC man ROM on my s4 but the s view case is not working how it works with touch wiz im wondering if anyone else is having this problem or is it just me?
i installed this version of PAC Man http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339389
Help is much appreciated.
Its not a problem. CM does not support it so neither will PAC. I wouldn't think that there is a high chance of it ever working on either CM or PAC.
