My wife updated her Note 3 somehow (not sure if it was to 4.3, or if it was just some Samsung update. I didn't see when she did it) and now says her keyboard is the old version? Not really sure what the difference is...
This what she says it should look like.

Is there any way to get the first one back? Google search shows that it's a Samsung Keyboard app in the play store, but if i go to it on her phone, it just shows it's already installed. Checked Language and Input, only one Samsung keyboard and it's the default (the 2nd photo version).

If she don't like it try SwiftKey keyboard it's one of the best and comes in lots of colours
From Google play
Note 3 always came as 4.3 mate. And yh, it's a newer build she has now. Same 4.3 but a newer build. IMO, the black one, I like better. But i guess, what i like, someone else may not. So! Just do as previous post said, try third-party keyboards like SwiftKey, Swype and so on. Cheers!

Anyone seeing the below weird problem with the facebook app?
I'm running the latest 1.72 version... and after a fresh installation, the news feed screen looks like the image on the left... after I close and restart the app, it looks like the image on the right!

So my questions: is this a glitch? is the image on the right the latest version design?
Countless re-installs / clearing data / cache doesn't resolve this issue! Anyone got any ideas?
(Im running Android Revolution HD 5.2.6)
Nope, the app is designed to default to the news screen when it is opened. You have to press back to get to the menu.

Sorry - maybe I didn't explain properly, if you look at the screenshots I posted, the news feed screen changes after a fresh installation to the old design...
Yeah, it's happened to me plenty of times; shows the old design immediately after first logging in, then shows the correct version from then on. I assume it's just because their app's rubbish.
it is just new changes to reflect the "updates" from the website (dunno why they just can't leave it alone)

It loads the old version then the new version (rather than just starting with the new one) to reflect changes from the website??

I wasn't saying that's what happens, I was questioning the guy above who said that because it doesn't make any sense.
You've got the current version, with the photo/status/check in buttons (the image you posted on the right). It just briefly loads the old layout on first login for some reason.

ok good - its not just me then
my confusion started because the screenshots on the market page also show the "old version" news feed layout!
Hi,
Since the last Chrome update I've noticed that when zooming in on a website (these forums for example) that one post will be in a large font and another post will have a tiny font.

I've gone back to the older version and everything works fine. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if there was a solution other than downgrading?
I've noticed the same thing since the new update. I've also noticed that when you click on something. It doesn't flash blue anymore to indicate that it was pressed. Plus, when you first enter a website and start scrolling around before it's fully loaded. The page will automatically scroll back to the top when it's done rendering. My Nexus S used to do that and it drove me crazy. Hope they send out a quick fix for all this stuff. On another note, how does Google not notice these glitches before an update is released?.. Boggles my mind sometimes.
I've also noticed that when zoomed out the display is no where as crisp as it used to be. For example reading xda full screen in portrait it was quite easy to read, now it is quite blurred and the letters run into each other.
Chrome is a disaster, I really wish Google would sort it out, as I love the desktop version.

Is that what we are leaving it at? That it's a disaster? Firefox does this too. After searching, I haven't found a solution. Has anybody?

I think this is a good feature. Yes, it doesnt look like real page but i am reading texts more comfortable with this feature. Anyway, its not a disaster..

My workaround to still using chrome/chrome beta on xda, is to scroll down to the 'quick style chooser' and change it from 'xda 2013 beta' to 'xda 2010' that seems to totally sort out the wonky formatting on my nexus 4.
The feature is called Font Boosting in Chrome, or Font Inflation in Firefox for Android.
I don't think it can be disabled.
Omg, where is Quick controls in the default stock browser? It's not under the settings, I am seriously considering to just return my S4 because of this. I used it constantly and can't manage without it really...
ICS Browser+ have the feature but is NOT working with S4 (crashing).... What to do?

Just wait for ICS Browser to update their browser, I'm pretty sure that you can use an alternative browser in the meanwhile.
I posted a thread in the QA asking the same thing. I missed quick controls as well. It seems to me the stock S4 browser is a skinned Chrome browser. Not reason enough to return for me atleast. If the stock 4.2.2 Jellybean browser has QC, you might be able to overwrite the samsung browser with it, if you are rooted. Dont quote me on this though, just a guess on my part.
Awwww you have to press a onscreen button now...That must be so hard for you. Talk about first world problems

If you go to Google Play you can find an app called "Pie Control" - very similar to the one you see in your screen shot.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImp1bi5hY2UucGllY29udHJvbCJd
I beleive that you need root to use it - (when I installed it - it brought up the Super user permission screen)
I thought this was what you were talking about - hope it helps...
Questions go in Q&A

I sent my Samsung Galaxy S4 back for a refund because it did not have quick controls... So currently I'm still using my S3. Stupid S4, even HTC One have quick controls....
you can just install aosp browser and have quick control. the most annoying thing is it's a bit hard to trigger the quick control because the side bezel of the s4 is higher than the screen.

I just got 2 new 9505G's for me and my wife. Out of the box they had a simple blue themed wallpaper that looks kind of cool. I unlocked the bootloader on my phone which of course reset the data and for some reason defaulted to one of the live wallpapers, while my wife's is still on the blue one I mentioned before.
I cannot for the life of me find the blue wallpaper as an option on either phone (even on the one where it is actually being used). Any ideas where this file is stored?

Okay great! I know how it feels to want something and not get it! Glad I could help. Found it on google.
I take it back, that is not the right image file. It appears similar but it is of a lower quality with weird rendering artifact bands across it. No offense to the guy who posted it, but if anybody else still has any ideas, I am all ears.
I found it by searching inside the stock images in the 9505G development forum.
It is buried inside framework-res.apk\res\drawable-xxhdpi\default_wallpaper.png. Seems pretty stupid they would make the default wallpaper something the user can't select again once he's changed it.
I put it online HERE.

Looks very nice. Glad to see Sammy is embracing the styling of lollipop and not completely covering it up with TW!
Doesn't look to interesting to me. Besides some new animations and stuff? What else is it going to be able to do? Is it going to be able to write to the sd card again from 3rd party apps?

Lollipop brings full SD Card support for third party apps.
I’m not a fan of the flat look. I like raised buttons, shadow effects and more colorful icons.

Thats definatly a plus
more stuff in the notification drop down?
Did any one else notice the "S finder" and something else under the brightness bar on the notification menu?
Samsung quicksetings take up half my notification bar, and my sticky apps take of the rest (Pebble, Withing, etc)
