Gapless playback? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was not able to have any gapless playback on LG music app. Then I tried Google Play Music app which is confirmed to have support for gapless playback.
But even there is also 1-2 seconds of silence between track change.
Any solution to this? I don't want to install a 3rd party paid app like Poweramp.
Thanks.

Nobody is bothered by lack of gapless playback on stock ROM?

Gapless playback on on stock android music app?

Is there a way to enable gappless playback on stock android app? Im running the GB music app now but the pause between tracks really irritates me. Any suggestions?
No way that I'm aware of and the alternative options are limited. The only app I've found that does gapless correctly is museek but I don't really like the interface. The devs of Music PlayerPro and PowerAMP are both planning to add it in the future, but neither support it yet.
(Another app called DeaDBeeF claims to support gapless playback but it's still in alpha and I haven't tried it out myself.)
this should be standard as apple has it in ios. What gives? The honeycomb player dosent support it either. i know someone at google listens to media that intended as 1 large set. LAME!

[Q] how to play real audio player other than vplayer?

i have some websites that plays real audio files and i tried to play with stock player and so many other players but only vplayer seems to work but the sound is too low. I want to know is there any other player that can play real audio files.

Audio delay on Bluetooth headset

I bought a new Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth headset and I'm getting audio delay by one second when watching video, I can tell as the lip movements don't match.
Affected players:
MoboPlayer
MX Player
BS Player
XBMC
I have tried a combination of HW/SW modes but this doesn't make a difference. XBMC does have an audio sync slider, but this is extremely awkward to adjust with the very small buttons/sliders in the UI.
On the other hand, there are no audio delays in Play Movies for the Transformers movie, nor in Dice Player. But Dice Player is not my preferred video player.
Any solutions to this? Is there something in Dice Player that fixes it, and is up to developers of other players to implement this "fix"?
Thanks

I just tried my bluetooth audio headset (it's actually a bluetooth transceiver which connects to my hearing aids), and Dice Player has a big delay - just like all the other players.
I did a quick search for XBMC in the market/play store, but couldn't find the video player - got a link to it by chance, please? I'd love to try the sliders.
Cheers,
Richard.

XBMC is still in beta so it's not on Play yet, got mine from the OP's links in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772433
Also tried a few other players, Rock Player and QQ Player, same problems :/
Unless they've improved bt with video in the last three years, you cannot use bt headphones when watching videos. It introduces a delay with audio. This isn't noticeable when simply listening to music as there is nothing to look at. Same with voice calls.
I was super bummed years ago when I bought quality bt headphones and found this it. Regular wireless headphones have so much static.

I hope apt-x would be incorporated in future kernels.

Thanks for that: just tried it, and it is fiddly, that's for sure.
I also found that although you can almost get audio in sync, in XBMC, it seems to drift, so the more you play, the further out of sync it goes - I guess this will be fixed in a future release.

Well I'm not sure, it seems watchable on my HTC Desire with MX player when I tried it just now, the audio delay on that is roughly 0.2 secs - you can't notice it unless you tried to.
Even a generic search on Google such as "bluetooth audio delay" brings up a few results, mostly to the Asus transformer. And funnily enough the Nexus 7 is an Asus device so I'm wondering if there's a relation in the BT hardware used. Not good.

Works GREAT for me. I encode the video (x264 video & AAC audio) myself with Handbrake and use the STOCK video player. No issues.
Just tried
STOCK no issues
MX no issues
Dice no issues
BS audio lag
I use a MW600, there is no delay when using Dog Catcher to watch mp4 podcasts.

If you don't mind me asking, which settings do you use, please? E.g. video-size, bitrates, etc.

I bet it's different when you playback an SD encoded file e.g. Xvids, have you tried one?

xvid is a thing of the past and scene release no longer supported.
Stock player SD xvid .avi does not play
Stock player SD (new scene format x264 MP4) No issue
Dice SD xvid .avi No issue
MX SD xvid .avi Lag
BS SD xvid .avi Lag
So if you want to play xvid bluetooth Dice does the job.
Thanks for the Handbrake details.
I'd also be interested to see whether Jelly Bean exhibits this blue tooth audio delay.

That matches my experience 100%, I have to use Dice Player too for SD content.
Yeah I should move on from xvid but still got a lot of older content to get through first!

Windows. It's quite possible I did something wrong. I'm also using an Asus Infinity, and your settings were tested on Nexus 7, weren't they?
I'm new (as in, yesterday) to Handbrake, but it looks like you can export/import profiles - perhaps you could export your profile and I could try that? Would be good to have something which others can import and use to get around this problem. I'm still hoping Jelly Bean might somehow miraculously fix this bug.
I have lag with the bs player but the stock player and the player with es explorer play mp4s off my flash drive with no lag.I am using a Samsung hs3000 headset.
There must be a media player that allow audio-video sync to be set manually. To the millisecs. Is there?

Adapt sound on all apps?

Is it possibile to enable the adapt sound feature globally, on all apps? It drastically improves the sound quality but only works on the stock music player. I would like to have the same sound on mx player for example, or Spotify.
Bump?

What media players do you use?

Have had my MediaPad M3 for one day and loving it so far. Yes, it has great sound but I don’t find any apps on the device that can make best use of the sound. I want to listen through my Bose headset and like booming bass. I want to play my mps3s and mp4s on players with an equalizer. I have spent a few hours searching and so far the best video/equalizer player I have found in VLC. I don’t even mind paying a few dollars if someone has a better suggestion. On my older android I was using Poweramp for mp3. Pretty good actually but I am open for other suggestions.
Poweramp is still my go to mp3 player. You could try neutron as well, it extremely configurable but not the most user friendly or best looking app.
MXPlayer with AC3 support (movies)
JetAudioPlus with Bongiovi plugin (audio).
Both are amazing. I've even tried, as a performance test, to play 4K AC3/DOLBY/x265 movies : no lag, super smooth. Super viewing pleasure ; don't have to reencode or find 720p versions. Subtitles work perfectly fine. I do love this tablet.

I have used mx and I like it. I just can't figure how to put an equalizer on it. Can that be done? Picky that way.
I don't know actually, interesting question.
We should try to install several 'system wide' equalizers and see if mx-player takes it into consideration.
Actually I am having very good luck with VLC. I have also installed and tried - Video Player for android. has equalizer option https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=video.player.audio.player.music&hl=en
and Video Player HD is a best video player with AC3 audio support Equalizer support. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=videoplayer.mediaplayer.hdplayer&hl=en
These both seem to be copies of VLC with adds. On one at least I had to reset the equalizer every time I turned it on were VLC remembered my settings. I also like the layout on VLC more. The one drawback with it is that you have to stop the movie to adjust the EQ but not on the other two.
I was never thrilled with VLC on windows because it does not remember where you stopped in a movie. With android it does resume play.
MX Player Pro
I personally use MX Player Pro App and for music I use Samsung's default Music Player in my S7 Edge.
MX Player Pro for anything video related and Rocket Player for audio.
Do 1080p 60fps videos on YouTube play smoothly?
