Greetings all,
I have been suffering with the battery of my backup device, an HTC HD2. When I travel I take it as a spare, but it's power button is easily pushed when it is in my handbag, and I arrive with the battery empty.
So I wrote an app that will power off the device upon boot: it will give the user a 10 second counter before actually powering off the device.
The app obviously requires ROOT, and is not yet finished and completely polished, it has some issues the first time it asks for root permission, but it works on my device. Currently I don't have time to work on it, so I am releasing it as open source on github, feel free to contribute to make it a better app.

Attached is an APK of the app, working with bugs.
and the source code is over GitHub.

Hi,
I came from a Windows Mobile phone and I miss several applications for Android. One of them is Lorndragon's Phone Timer. It's concept is simple and useful; it's just a daily scheduler for auto turn-off/on phone, so you can have the phone off in the timetable you usually don't want to be bothered, I.E. at night time (and you save battery too).
This is a screenshot of the app:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
So, my question is simple. Do you know any app, more or less similar, for Android? (for phone or for plane mode scheduling)
Thanks and best regards.
I doubt anything out there is going to work on a Nexus 4 without rooting. Google seems to be following some of Apple's lead by locking down more and more of the OS with each release. In 4.2, apps don't have permission to shutdown the phone state. If rooted, there are a variety of apps to do this, the best/most versatile/simplest of which is probably tasker.
Root is not a problem. Thanks for the answer, I'll take a look to Tasker app.
hi, I'm just testing on this app, and this is my first app
this app will calculate battery consumption of GPS/Wi-Fi
Note:
In order to capture the battery drop in normal usage of phone, first you have to disable GPS/Wi-Fi interfaces then leave the phone for 10 minutes.
The battery level should be captured before and after this period.
There is also indicator of time when you tab on "Start". once it reach 10 minute, you can tab on "Result" to get the result. the time will stop on its own.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Note:
For GPS,first enable GPS and run your program for 10 minutes second to capture the drop in the battery level.During this period, you have to work with GPS. For example, you can run googlemap program in the background.
This for testing purpose only. and im very sure there will be a lot of bug, please comment
Im also willing to share the code if anyone wants it.

Hey Guys!
I'm kinda missing the feature of holding back button for a 1,5-2sec to kill app that is in full screen. It's missing in +5 for some reason. Any ideas how to replace it? I didn't find a port for now. Device is rooted ofc
hope they will implement in stock rom... Why don't we input this request in their system ? If we will be many, they will hear us maybe
I'm running 7.1.2 LineageOs on my OPX and have the option, in developer options all the way at the bottom

Well, All In One Gestures on the play store allows you to do this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures
It requires root and a bunch of permissions if you feel it's needed.
I also use All In One Gestures just for Back to Kill
Hello,
Before I start, if any mistake in my language, excuse me, because my English is not very good.
I bought Huawei P Smart, it's new and everything,
However, once I connect to the Internet for the first time after it is activated or after the format, this notification appears:
(Just edit the links if the pictures don't appear, because I am a new member and not allowed to put them)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The application says I don't have Permissions of the phone and restarts itself to become a phone without applications
Even when I tried to using recovery mode to format it didn't allow me
What I have to do now? As it appears to you even if I did not accept what appears in the notification, as you see it will do by force after an hour.
And well what is this? I did not understand anything !!
Thank You
