You need experience launcher to have a transparent bar. You need KitKat to use the Experience launcher. The experience launcher right now is exclusive for Nexus5 but can be installed on other devices, just search on Xda

I personally just use GSM auto hide to hide the soft keys and use LMT pie launcher. Running Nova as well.

I did a little research and wanted to know if I really have the right info regarding wallpapers and the notification bar.
Please: no need to tell me to root or to use an alternative launcher. I am well-versed in both, but I remain interested in staying stock and using the default laucher.
So, is it the case that:
- The only way to have a transparent notification bar (it looks great) is to use the stock, LG-supplied wallpaper?
- There is no way to add to the stock wallpaper collection?
Thanks in advance.
I have the exact same question as OP
I currently use Xposed and Gravitybox for transparent action bar (nav. bar) and status bar, but only for home screen mode. In lockscreen the bars show wallpaper of homescreen not set lockscreen wallpaper

Thanks ZenWan - but Xposed is only for rooted devices, right?
Although I have plenty of experience with rooting and custom ROMs on previous phones, I really want to keep my G2 completely stock.
Aye, I believe it only works with rooted devices. But fair enough, understand your reason ^_^

There's ZOR over at the Theme's section who makes his own themes. Chose's his own wallpapers and icons and all and still has transparent as stock. I saw in one of a couple pages that he posted a link on to how he made them. that could be another way to achieve that. I myself wanted to keep but my impatience made me root; xposed and now i have that and way more options. are you afraid to void your warranty?

Hi,
I am using Nova launcher with my Note 4.
I have not enabled the setting 'Transparent Notification Bar " but sometimes my notification Bar becomes transparent and to restore it
to non transparent, I have to restart Nova launcher.
Anybody else with the same bug ?
Daniel
I am also using Nova launcher for a long time, which app will trigger this problem ?

Understand that if the wallpaper in white color, it is the same as the color with the status bar icon, I will prevent to choose some wallpaper like this.
Sorry that I don't have s-cover, don't know why your problem =)

I am rooted but I don't remember if you can enable it with a non rooted device.. You can find this setting in «Look and feel»
from the Nova Settings.

Well I'm not using Google Now. I have color in all my notifications when I pull down my notification drawer like Gmail, You tube, Textra Whatsapp. Idk, maybe I'm missing what you mean. My notifications have as much color in them as the pic you posted.

I need the dynamic navigation bar that links the color of navigation bar to the page not the one that links the navigation bar to the status bar
Thanks for your time

Got mine this morning around 6AM. Was hesitant to install from all the complaining about the status bar but so far so good.
Does anyone know whether the adb command to show the nav bar for specific apps still works? I want to hide nav bar for all apps besides one.

Not sure about adb and the nav bar but they still work with SystemUI Tuner to get rid of the battery icon.

I just confirmed it works. One of my apps was breaking when the navigation bar was missing so I ran an ADB command to bring the nav bar whenever that activity was launched.
Sorry noob question, any way to make the navbar transparent or change to black? I tried navbar apps but it's pretty buggy
