Hello guys..
I'm very new to LG.. G2 is my first... Been a Samsung user all this while..
Question is, i can't enable weather animation on my lockscreen which I'm pretty sure because i might have deleted the necessary live wallpaper apk's. If so, could anyone be so kind to share those apk's or if not, explain to me what might be the problem? Thanks so much

No idea what you are talking about . Not using much LG software. But I have Beautiful Widgets with its Live Wallpaper and am happy with it.
What I've found is that some times you have to clear the cache and force stop the lockscreen.

Still no go guys... It starts by searching for location but it never gets selected and stays unchecked

Do you have sync on? Also it's only available on swipe touchscreen

Yes, I tried it when it was on and I'm on swipe unlock

Any chance you froze or deleted the LGWeather apk that comes with the phone? When I was debloating my device shortly after rooting I made the mistake of deleting that app. I don't use the widget so I figured no harm. But my lockscreen animations also disappeared. Once I reinstalled LGWeather the animations returned.

Hi,
Download a stock rom (or a custom rom but odexed, otherwise there will not have the LG weather stuff as it don't work on deodexed) and extract the files you need. Put them in /system/app with a file explorer, set the correct permissions (like the other files) and reboot...
EDIT: I had nothing to do so... Here's the LG weather: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xfj6w81gxe4lf79/LG_Weather.rar.
Slightly off topic, sorry, but is there any way to get the weather animation when using pattern or pin, but swipe?

I'm 99% certain that weather animations only work with the slide to unlock option.
I haven't deleted any apks and my lockscreen animations are not working. Im on swipe and have cleaed cache and force quit the lockscreen app. Still no dice. Any suggestions?

I think maybe a factory reset might do the job.

Ouch. Factory resets are always a pain. If you're gonna go that route, make sure you back everything up in the backup app that came out of the box before you proceed. It should save some of the hassle.

I think I've found the solution guys... When selecting the option, enter the exact location which is on your clock and weather widget manually. You'll be prompted to select some other options such as weather update and auto sync and you'll be good to go. Hope this helps

If it's disabled, it won't be in alphabetical order with your other apps. It will be at the very end of the list.
In the settings menu it is named Contacts.

You sure you froze the app and didn't accidentally deinstalled it?

Re-Check, the name might be. Contacts or it may be on the end of the list
If it's not, then try re-installing your rom or you can manually push the apk to /system/app/
thanks for all the help guys ive sorted it now
Same problem with People App

How did you sort it out? I installed Overstock rom on my nexus 4 and after that I am unable to add contact. I cleared data from Settings->Apps-> Contact storage , still no luck.. Can you please explain what steps you took to sort it out.
Every time I turn on, or restart my phone, I get the screen to select a launcher. I do not have any other launcher installed and every time I select touchwiz and click always, it does not stay.

Seems Odd
-Go to Applications manager
-In the TW launcher clear all data and clear all defaults.
-Restart and reorganize the layout ( If u have multiple launchers you will be prompted to choose a default one )
-Turn off and back on and see.
Hope it helped.

I seem to have hit this problem this week too, a workaround while I figure out why it happens is to disable/freeze other launchers so there's only one left.

Hmm, that's weird, I used Titanium Backup to freeze it.
I wonder if the app clean master deleted any file needed to keep the default launcher after restarting the phone

backup your apps and do the factory reset......................:after that you'l be :good:
None of that worked.... today i got MJ5 update with 4.3 and it fixed it.
I've tried to get an answer from LG directly...but I don't think that they understand what I'm asking for

Now if only we can get it working with the third party ones. I miss my scrolling dock lol.
I lost the icon for the stock dialer. I have tried everything I know to get it back. What happened is that I installed another dialer and decided I didn't like it and uninstalled it. Any one have any ideas to get it back.
Thanks.
Never mind, I found it...thanks

It wasn't in my app draw correct. I did a safe boot and saw it there. When I rebooted it was back in the draw. Thanks for asking.
