I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but I hope it is not a single problem. The issue is that sometimes when i receive a SMS, the notification shows up on the top bar. I pull that menu down, and sure enough there is a preview for the message, but sometimes if I click on the message, or go into the messaging app, that message doesnt show up in the conversation. This gets very frustrating b/c if I go back to the notifications menu up top, the new message is removed and the SMS seems to be lost forever.
I've had this issue with Handcent, ChompSMS, and also the native "Messaging" app too. Anyone else encounter this? If so, were you able to fix?
I have the HTC Dream from Rogers, rooted.

There was a issue awhile back with early hero builds dropping sms all together but I know yours is a different issue. But I have a similar problem with gtalk sometimes. Whenever someone would log off and log back on and send me a message I will see it in notification bar but not in gtalk. Thought I would throw my 2 cents in.
I wasn't even able to get SMS for some reason, I had an unlocked G1 using AT&T and SMS just didn't seem to work. I didn't know the G1 supported SMS. I'm upset now.
Best of luck for you getting your problem resolved. I would recommend upgrading but if your in the newest update release, I don't know much to say.
Hello
is there a possibility that all this works a bit more nicer?
no extra sms?
maybe just a different color or symbol behind the sms?
+1
it has been discussed but there hasn't been any solution so far. I'm used to recieving a delivery report as some sort of push-sms that you open and then it disappears and isn't saved in the sms conversation, but you can access it via the properties of the sms you sent.
Do you mean a message sent notification? If so, this isn't possible because of HTC Messaging crapware.... if you disable it and go back to the original WM messaging app, you can then use Advanced Config 3.3 to turn on sms sent notifications after....
I had chompSMS installed but after a short while I would recieve a notification saying I had a new message, from the default app even if I didnt have a new message present. The notification would take me to the default messaging app, with no new messages. I uninstalled chomp, but it's still happening. I have notifications currently disabled in the default messaging applicaion.
Using Cyanogen's latest ROM from NexusOne.
Hello out there? Anyone know whats going on?
try re-installing chomp or even better try handcent. Im using it and its kickass
my stock sms is acting really stupid! i have always used handcent sms as my main sms app and turned off the notification settings in the stock app as to not have double notifications. soooooooo today i got a text and the stock notification pops up and sounds at the same time as handcent. i went and made sure the settings in the stock app didnt revert back to default and everything was unchecked and greyed out!!!! i also noticed that when i open the stock sms app, it no longer shows my contact icons, it just looks really bare! i tried to freeze the stock sms app using titanium backup and still the same results. any ideas on what i can do to fix this? i really dont want to have to factory reset(if i do then i guess that gives me a reason to finally flash a different ROM)! thanks in advance!
Since updating to Android 10, after a reboot all my SMS messages disapear. Also happens with Google messages app. I'm now on 10.3.0 and still the same! Anybody have any ideas?
