I had previously used flashify to flash the latest TWRP, but after I did that it crashes every time I open it. Have uninstalled/cleared cache/reinstalled. Does it have issues with Xposed framework? I am xposed stock ROM

Most likely it same as mdm, mdn. We have to used this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255190.

just flash the rooted version in dev.
How am I supposed to flash a zip when I have no custom recovery?...motochopper says failure all the time tried it twice.. is the mdn method for sprint s4? It says gt-19505

You don't have to be rooted to install a recovery. Just use Odin to install a recovery, then use that to flash the zip.

So install a recovery, flash any custom rom and that's it??

I am aware of the guides the nice people have come up with but is there an easier way such as an application? I remember, before I flashed back firmware, it was ten times easier and required no adb or commands on my end. I also flashed it over CWM which I had at the time.
Thanks.

What ROM are you currently on? Are you rooted? If on a Jellybean ROM and rooted just use Freegee from the market to install latest TWRP or Cwm instantly with no fuss. If you are on a KitKat ROM you need to downgrade which can be a long process.

Once that i lost my cable i installed flashify and it worked.donloaded a dozen of em but only flashify worked and successfully flashed twrp.img but root pal, just root..
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
I am rooted. On stock 4.2.
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
Then Freegee is the way to go...
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
I second flashify, great tool
on the move..
ioroot to root
freegee to twrp
Back up EFS, and then back THAT up to your computer. THEN proceed to whatever it is you rooted for.
Definitely back efs up
on the move..

Install FreeGee from the Google play store since you are rooted already.
What exactly is efs? Also, I get an error code in the top left when going into recovery?
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app

if you are on 10d you can use this, just download the file and click recovery and everything should work. phone has to be on charge and not MTP.download both files in the download and place them in a recovery folder or whatever you choose to call it.
for ATT or international versions.here you go:
hang on uploading the zip

You can only flash recovery in jellybean based ROMs. If you are on a rooted KitKat ROM you still can't have custom recovery without also a modded boot img

Yes. Just install Xposed, then inside click Framework and Install/Update. It will install the Xposed Framework and you're done!

It seems like BajaROM doesn't work (failed for me and apparently others). Was planning on trying JasmineROM next.
None of the current roms worked for me. (Stock TW KK 4.4.2 NC4 OTA) Rooted /w busybox, safestrap, and super su binary installed.

No I was on NC 2. Downloaded and flashed jasmin rom and rebooted into Odin (download mode) and loaded nc4 firmware thru Odin 3.09
I was on NC4, no luck finding anything that is working (including Jasmine). Install seems to go OK, but when I reboot the screen stays off.

You can download & install SuperSU from playstore...
Open SuperSU it will prompt you that the binary needs to be installed, click ok! It will then say failed and give the option to install it via cmw or twrp click ok! The system will now reboot to the stock recovery, exit out and reboot to safestrap. Once in safestrap choose install and go to "/cache/recovery" and select "update.zip" swipe to flash then reboot to system. Open SuperSU and now it should be working.
Lmk if this works for you...

ALL, Please DON NOT try and flash any ROM if you are coming from the Verizon OTA NC4 4.4.2 build (rooted via Towelroot)...until the ROM Developer states in the OP that it is okay to do so.
EDIT: Please refer to this thread if you are on the VZW OTA 4.4.2 or NC4 kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787627

@JBHawaii will that method work for stock build NC4? Currently SafeStrap isn't letting NC4 flash ROM at the moment.

Yes, it will work for stock NC4. However, chainfire just released an update for Super SU via the playstore... try that first! If the binary still fails to install then try my method.

Has any one ran safestrap and check the size of the rom slot? When I do it says 0 mb available. If I am not wrong which I could be that means there is zero space to flash the rom to.

Right now SafeStrap won't let us use slot for ROM, so we can't flash anything to it

Flash NC2 Kernel in Odin
Just flash the NC2 kernel in Odin and install a rom. Just tried it out and it works!

What rom did u use an on stock slot?
Ive tried Jasmine and Hyperdrive so far. They both work with no issues.
Now that Xposed is compatible with Samsung TW ROMS, I'd like to install Xposed on my S4 with 5.0.1 Lollipop and OC3. I need a custom recovery to install Xposed, so how can I do it?
I've searched and can't find anything. Right now I have just the stock android recovery.
You can't. The only custom recovery you can use is safestrap and afaik xposed won't flash in it.
