[Q] Reduce font size of Notification Bar? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Without anything running it takes up half screen. I really wouldn't mind if we could at least remove the brightness and volume bars, but stil the font on the date and all notifications are so huge with just 3-4 notifications I have to start scrolling...

If you are rooted you can remove the sliders in the notification bar with this Xposed Module >>
In addition it should be possible to change the font size of the notification bar with the module "App Settings".

Yes, like the other mentioned module, it's a module made for the xposed Framework. Further information here >>

Thanks, will have to wait until I root it, then.

Hey,
I have the module "app settings" installed.
Where can I change the notifications font size?
Cheers

Puhh... my last answer in this thread was one year ago. I don't even have my g2 anymore. I'm sorry, I don't remeber, what I changed, but I guess you could try "System UI". (Don't forget to reboot to see changes).

Transparent Statusbar on Lockscreen

Hi there!
Iam trying to get a transparent Statusbar on my Lockscreen but i cant get it to work. I tried G2 Tweaksbox, G2 Xposed and some other xposed modules. Also i tried this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2510410
but it seems that the correct settings are already in the framework-res.apk.
Btw. iam on Pardus rom which is based on Stock rom
I used an Xposed module and it worked. But there was little point in having the status bar transparent, as apps would not move their buttons below the status bar, making most apps hard to use with the status bar blocking app options. I still used it on some apps though, as the module let me choose which apps to have transparent backgrounds on. I will check out what the module was called if I can repair my phone.

i figured it out.
G2 Xposed is replacing the options located in settings -> display -> front touch buttons
i froze g2 xposed, rebooted, enabled transcluded bars and then enabled g2 xposed again.
funny that the stock settings can do more than the rooted options

Ok, didn't see you only needed it on the lock screen.
I use Xposed for transparent soft keys (as well as reducing their height) and have a selectively transparent status bar (se through lock screen, home screen and some apps).

2nd screen clock only while screen on?

Is this possible?
In settings you only have two choices: date & time or signature. Until one of the custom roms starts delving into the second screen, this is it.

Yeah that's screen off. I was curious about screen on. But I'm assuming that the answer is no.
Enabling the option under Settings -> Second screen -> "Show time while content is shown" and then hiding the status bar seems to force the clock (actually all status bar icons) into the second screen.
Nova has an option to do this (not root necessary) but it only will stay that way on your home screen and revert back when in an app that doesn't do Fullscreen. I'm not sure there is a way to always force Fullscreen without root + Xposed (which is not yet available for Nougat) for all apps.

So I tried this and it definitely removed the status bar and icons up top in the second screen, but no clock. Just black.

Interesting....I wonder why it is behaving different for me. I do have an older version of Nova though. You don't have any other settings to hide the clock in the notification bar enabled do you? And you are sure you enabled the option at the bottom of the second screen settings called "Show time while content is shown"?

You know what. I have a 3minit mod installed that hides the default clock. I bet that is what it is.

How to remove "Headset is plugged in" notification.

Is there any way to remove this notification it constantly stays in notification bar
Root with Magisk, install Xposed, install Gravitybox, block ongoing notification in Gravitybox

Pull down quick settings toolbar, hold your finger onto the Settings icon until the popup shows up, enable UI tuner and disable the icons you don't want to be shown

"Headset is plugged" notification is notification, not a system icon (you can see it clearly in the notification shade) and it can't be disabled by System UI tuner.

Any way to make the notification font/icons larger without root?

Did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

That's just for the phone in general. Doesn't adjust notification font or icon size.

I just tried it and it made everything grotesquely huge. Icons, notification text, everything. In older versions of Android it didn't use to.

Yea, I mean that's a basic feature. You would think MIUI would have it since it's big time into customization.
I've just told you that MIUI does have it. Try it

Oh right. I just assumed you tried to do it with something else. I'll look for the setting. If you mean accessibility I already have that adjusted.
Now what exactly do you mean by the notification font/icons? Do you mean only the top row of the phone with the mini icons for battery, signal level etc.? If that's what you meant, then yeah, without rooting I don't think you can do anything with that. However, the setting that I mentioned really enlarges almost everything in the system. What remains the same size is the top row and the size of toggles in the notification shade.
To enlarge the status bar you could probably use some on-demand zooming after setting it up in accessibility settings.

Yes, the top. Nothing can be done really to it without root. I tried all accessibility settings and none affect that.

I used to use "Status" in the Play store for those settings but it won't work on Pie. Didn't need root either.
I tried pushing the Display size in Accessibility settings to the max (Larger), and it increases the size of everything, but the top row only slightly.
Another setting that might be useful, but not so much if you need it larger all the time, is turning on "magnify with triple-tap". Then you can triple tap the notification row to enlarge it temporarily.

I mean I can see the entirety of the phone with settings set to large, but the notification bar is even more tiny than what I would have been comfortable with before I needed glasses. Thanks for trying tho, I appreciate it. I may root after all but I do like the MUIU set up.
NotchTest
I use Notch Test to fix the current problem of notifications not showing/staying in the notification bar. There is a setting within it to set the icon size. Mine is currently set at 60 which matches clock etc but it could be set larger if wanted. Would not affect the clock or network icons etc though..........
I ended up rooting my Redmi Note 7. All is well now with my Metallica vision issues and the phone.

Status bar space

After A10 update on the right side of the notch there's space for only 5 icons now, while on pie it could fit 6 icons. Is it a bug or what? It's really inconvenient not being able to see my alarm icon

Notch Killer doesn't work in Android 10, I just tried. The option doesn't show up in the developer section. Maybe there's some additional steps for our devices.
EDIT
Scratch that, it "works", it's just translated to "double display cut out", but it makes no difference to me.

Yeah that is weird, all I have is root and a custom kernel, no magisk modules nor anything. And only 5 icons fit there, strange
Edit: I just tried your set of icons and it works. But try turning off do not disturb and enabling battery percentage, it gets limited to 5 icons

Yeah, I tried different icons and it only showed 5. I guess it's limited to the size of the icons that can fit in that corner.

Yep, it does work indeed. I just didn't have enough icons to fill up the status bar, lol. Too bad the notch itself is still visible.

Ye but I have had the same set of items there since pie and now only 5 show up, for instance my alarm icon is gone now
if you change the display density you get more icons.
I also installed notch killer but somehow it normally displays as Notch Killer in developer settings in A10..lol, how? I don't see any difference though (maybe because of the density).

I know all about that but on Android pie I had more icons without changing any settings. That's what's bothering me
