[Q] Gummy Rom Sprint KitKat 4.4 PRL Update - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hello,
I have just updated my Sprint Galaxy S4 to Gummy Rom KitKat 4.4 but I seem to be having signal issues. Is there a way to update my Profile and PRL to the latest without manually doing it. I can find the updater within the interface of Gummy.
Thank you!!

I have found that updating to the latest PRL and profile on the stock ROM BEFORE installing a custom rom has help me avoid some signal issues. I may be the long way, but that's what works for me. sorry if that's no the answer you were looking for.

There is no way to update profile or PRL in anything but a TouchWiz rom.

3g no longer working on my phone after flashing roms

I'm in an area where I don't have 4g, and since flashing my ROMs, I often just don't have 3g. Like I can make calls and send texts but I have no 3g whatsoever.
Every once in a while, through a restart I can get it, but about 90% of the time I don't have it.
Im running CyanogenMod 10.2, and I've attempted flashing to sacs custom ROM with no luck. Its driving me crazy, any help?

Don't know what modem/baseband you're on.
Try MF9 modem.
Then update PRL and Profile

It looks like my baseband version is L720VPUAMF9, which I'm assuming is the MF9 modem you were talking about.
I'm looking at the prl and profile, and I'm not 100% sure how to update it on the s4.

You've got the MF9 modem that's good.
Check this out. Update both PRL and Profile.
So I flashed my only touchwiz rom (Sacs Custom Rom) and I updated the profile + PRL, as well as went into the dialer and pressed ##72786# which basically, I think did the same thing.
I backed up an AOSP Illusion Mod which I customized. If I flash the back up, will my PRL / profile remain the same? Or is that something in with the network settings?
Also interestingly enough, I have 3g once I booted the Sacs Custom Rom. Last time that happened, I flashed the Illusion Mod and had 3g for a while.... then it never came back.
Any thoughts? I really want to figure this out, it's horrible not having data connection and paying for it. I really love my Illusion mod, it's fast and sleek.

trouble updating to 4.3

I have an s4 that was claimed as lost. I was trying to update to 4.3 ota here in the philippines and it would not allow me to do so. My new s4 that was sent to me has updated without any problems. Is there any way for me to update it with odin?
My reason that I want to update is because the phone get really hot all day and battery doesn't last. I am suspecting that the processor is not sleeping and therefore eating away at the battery. Another issue that i have is the mobile hotspot/tethering doesn't work.
What are your suggestions? Should Install a rom? if yes, which one? should I install xposed? BTW, We already tried to factory reset the phone.
Witch S4 is it . edit your profile or add your model/baseband to your signature. It can help others help you

[Q] 4G coverage lost

I'm currently running CM's latest stable build (10.2.0) and MJA. After flashing CM, I've noticed that I've lost some 4G coverage. I'm curious if flashing the MK2 firmware would help this issue or hurt it - don't know if CM 10.2 is compatible - or if I need to find a way to update my PRL manually since its obviously not a Sense ROM.
modems are compatible with ALL roms.

[Q] [SPH-L720] [ROM] updated after Sprint store serviced my phone now running [NA7]

Correct title: {Q] [SPH-L720] [ROM] updated after Sprint store serviced my phone now running [NA7]
See the original post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277480&page=71 where I tried the upgrade to NAE from bootloader MF9. Couldn't get Odin to write new modem/firmware or recovery. Desperate, I went to Sprint store for support with success. However, now I'm running build number KOT49H.L720VPUFNA7. It was suggested that this a GS4-mini or L720T firmware but on the official Sprint support site there us nothing under either of these phones or S4 that matches this build. It is running very smooth and no lock ups or problems since they installed this last weekend. :good: Its got the stock ROM and recovery now.
Wondering if they installed a new 4.4.2 that hasn't been sent OTA yet.
Since Odin failed during write last time I haven't been brave enough to try replacing the the recovery or rooting again. I can't find anyone running this build. I will try add a screen shot of the about device to this post.
Any comments or speculation is welcome.
It is not a new OTA. In fact Na7 is older than NAE by 10 days based in the dates from the kernel. Yours is January 18th. NAE is January 28th.

I think the NA7 build is Sprints restore version, since several users have reported this version after a Sprint store has recovered their bricked phone.

[Q] WiFi unstable stock rom; CM11 possible cure?

My AT&T S4's wifi connection has become basically useless. Both at home and at work it frequently drops out and says the connection is unstable. At home, this happens when I'm in the same room as the router. These symptoms started happening after the OTA updates, but seem to have gotten continually worse. I've tried the usual settings changes to no avail.
Is there any reason to believe that putting a custom rom on my S4 will solve the wifi stability issue? If so, I'd happily give it a shot before I completely give up and get a new phone. And, I've had the hardest time trying to figure which guide to use to install a custom rom. I have a US AT&T SGH i337 that is running 4.4.2, and the Baseband version is I337UCUFNC1, Kernal version 3.4.0-1125940. I rooted my s4 using towelroot.
Thanks for the help, hoping I can fix my S4 and keep it...
If it were me I'd flash the nb1 tar file and see if I had the same Wi-Fi issue. You might have a hardware issue. If everything worked then I'd take the ota to nc1. If you have a problem now it's probably the modem image.
Use the rootable nb1 tar file, it's rootable with towelroot.
Flashing the tar in Odin will wipe your device so make sure you backup first.
