actually that's the first thing i did.but it doesn't fix the problem. it only hides the android notification bar, but not the address bar.

Hmm interesting, mine hides the Address bar also.
EDIT: Doesn't FireFox or Opera offer full screen mode? - I have FF but haven't used it for a while

yes I want that, but mine always displays the address bar. let me see if restarting the phone fixes the issue.
edit: nope, restarting didn't fix it. it still shows the address bar. I have tried Chrome, Firefox. I didn't try Opera, let me try that.

It may work, I've noticed with Samsung devices a reboot tends to fix a lot of things that randomly stop working. - Could also vary on which FW you are running also. I use MJ7 and it seems my options vary to some others who also run it which is weird.

yes I also have MJ7.
just like I mentioned above, I did restart the phone but it didn't fix the issue. fullscreen for my browser only means the android bar isn't visible (but the address bar, the one in which you type the URL remains visible).
so I tried other browsers, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Opera Beta.
so far the best results were with Web Browser (Maxthon) which can also hide the address bar, but instead it displays a circle button that doesn't go away. the Note 2's browser was best for what I'm looking for, since it displayed absolutely nothing in fullscreen. no notification bar, no address bar, no nothing, only the webpage. isn't there a way to install Note2's browser on Note 3?

Could always try and find the .apk for the Note 2's browser, would probably have to mess with the current browsers .apk also to disable it. Or extract it from your current Note 2 maybe? --- Not sure why yours won't show full screen though, bit strange.

Start scrolling upwards and it re-appears again, It was the same on my HTC One, which was also on HTC Stock browser.

actually Google Chrome does that, when you scroll downwards the address bar dissapears (but not the notification bar). the other browser note 3 comes with always displays the address bar.

Use Dolphin. ..works perfect!

Firefox has a fullscreen addon that hides the address bar, it works great on the Note 3.

How many are sticking with Dolphin even after OTA?

I went back to the stock Browser to see how multitouch was after the OTA update, and man, how underwhelming.
The multitouch is pretty much the same as Dolphin of course, but I definitely got used to Dolphin's full screen view. That status bar just sticks out like a HUGE sore thumb in the stock browser now...
Now only that, I love being able to double tap in Dolphin and seeing all the open tabs, instead of having to press Menu... then Windows... Then choose my tab...
Anyone else sticking with Dolphin? I think there's just too many extra features. Now that I've tried it, I can't go back!
I'm actually moving back to stock browser, I didn't realize how slow dolphin was.

Slow how? In zooming, page loading, or something else? They seem the same speed to me...???
Also, the zoom in/out buttons on the stock rom are also really ugly now, since they're not on Dolphin either.
dolphin didn't really impress me. the zoom was never that smooth and I never got used to the gestures didn't seem worth the effort. stock browser always seemed to load quicker. the new zooming seems to format the page better. I think the new pinch is absolutely perfect.
stock all the way, though I could see if you were used to specific features you'd stay with dolphin.
The only advantage Dolphin has now, over the stock browser, is the ability to download Youtube vids. On this gorgeous huge screen, the status bar isn't really as much of an eyesore as it was on the G1.
I see... It does seems a bit smoother to zoom...
Is there a way to remove the zoom buttons and the status bar without being rooted?
If not, is there a way to remove them with root?

Best bet is to contact Loccy. He was able to hack the stock browser on 1.5 and 1.6 to hide the status bar and the zoom buttons.
I like the tab mgmnt. Home page/bookmarks.
Dolphin MT but it also reformats text. Default when you P/Z is iphonish where it doesnt reformat the text.

Page loading. I love the left/right swipe to change tabs on dolphin though, as well as the gestures, but if I'm on my phone, page loading > tabs

double tap right after doing the pinch to zoom, it'll format it without zooming

Oh wow, you're right. I just noticed this.
When you zoom in with pinch/zoom on stock browser, it doesn't reflow text. If you rotate the phone and then rotate back, it DOES reflow the text. And then if you zoom out, it reflows the text. So only zooming *IN* with P/Z is fubar'd. (The zoom in/zoom out buttons reflow text just fine in both directions.)
Is this a "feature" or a bug with P/Z on stock browser???
[Edit]: Actually... It looks like reflow isn't working in Dolphin either until you rotate landscape and back??? Google must have broken something in the OTA??

PM'd. He hasn't posted in more than a month on XDA though. I wonder if he left the Android scene.

Stock browser - quick controls, hide address bar

Is this gone? Seems like a major regression in comparison to the S3's stock browser.
It is indeed And the synchro with Chrome PC bookmarks is gone too. Hope it will get fixed by Samsung itself in a next update or by a dev.
I agree. I couldn't believe it
¡¡So say we all!! from my GT-I9505
is there any way to hide the address bar and get a proper fullscreen mode?

[Q] stock browser address bar won't disappear

I *think* the address bar on the stock browser of my i9505 used to scroll off the top of the screen or "autohide".
Now it just seems stuck there, and it's very annoying. My old S2 definitely used to autohide.
I've checked the box in the browser accessibility settings for 'full screen' but it makes no difference at all.
Does anyone know how to fix this, or is it just the way it is. Phone is unmodified on Three in the UK.
thanks

Full Screen Browser ?

Hey I had the s3 before and I had a option in settings to get full screen browser with pie controls and I can't find out how to do it on the note 3 is there a way to do so ? Because a full screen browser would make this phone so much better

You can use the AOSP version of the stock browser, in full screen it removes everything and then you can use the quick controls to swipe in from the side of the screen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385933
Video in that thread shows off what I'm talking about in the later portions.
If you are rooted to can try out this app from the market:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.aospinstaller&hl=en
You could try an aftermarket browser too. I have used Dolphin for years and love it. It does fullscreen and you can change User Agent too. No more getting stuck in mobile versions of websites.
