I have a att lg g2 with cm10, I'am moving to India tomorrow and was just informed I have to pay my etf's to att before they will unlock my phone. Those wont show up on my bill for two more weeks leaving us without a cell phone once in India.
Do I have to be on a stock rom to unlock? I have heard of websites that do it for a couple dollars, any one use one and have success?
search for the unlock on eBay it's less than $2 my friend

i am not a tmobile customer (rogers), and i don't have a credit card (well i do but i'm also FLAT BROKE) is there anyway i can unlock my htc dream?
+ how do you even go about unlocking the phone once you have the "code"
please answers are appreciated i am quite desperate i leave in a week (to europe) and have no money to buy a cell phone there
Unfortunately eBay is your only friend
The cheapest (and fastest) method I have seen is eBay. There are no other ways to unlock your phone. If you have a t-mobile phone on the rogers network, shouldn't your phone already be unlocked? If it is a G1 and not a Dream, that is.
Most people either unlock through the vendor in this case t mobile, or alternate sites offering unlocking services generally between 10-35 bucks. Most sites I've seen are around 25

and the second part of your question, "how do you even go about unlocking the phone once you have the "code""
you put a different carriers sim card in your phone and it will ask for the code.
just an update here i contacted rogers and they pretty much refused to give me the code, even if i paid them. found a trusted/guaranteed seller on ebay plan on trying that on thurs, will update with details
I tried to talk to Rogers about it too, right after the e911 debacle, but even in the time of need, the would not budge. The CSR tried to say that putting another SIM in my phone would work, LOL.
Where are you going in Europe? I can recommend a good provider for England and/or Italy
lisbon then porto form 1month then paris for another how did u get your phone unlocked?
When I was in Europe I already had an unlocked phone with my, an i-Mate. With my Dream, the second I put a foreign SIM in it and turned it on it asked for an unlock code, which I bought from eBay.
I have not been to Portugal, I almost went last January, they had a last minute sale for 8 nights Hotel+Flight+Rental car for $550 including taxes. I had to work though.
I'm thinking to buy AT&T version of Galaxy S4. I would like to use the phone abroad when I travel with local sim cards, so I want to have it unlocked.
As I understand, even if I buy unsubsidized phone, it will be still locked to AT&T network.
So the question, if I have it root'ed using this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248
will it automatically become carrier unlocked ? Or do I need to install a custom ROM as well (are there any custom ROMs for I9505 version) ?
No, rooting a phone does not make it carrier unlocked. I don't particularly know if there is a carrier unlock method for the S4 yet (go search the forms), but Negri Electronics (online shop) sells an unlocked AT&T version of the phone that you might look in to, though it is a little more expensive.
Thanks for pointing to them !
They do have a model I want to buy, but it's available only for pre-order and about $100 more expensive than AT&T's version
Buy the unlock code. I did it already.

Hey guys. I recently got an H918 from the US which I am trying to unlock for use here in my home country. I can't go the T-Mobile way since it was bought of CL. I can only use 3rd parties to unlock it. However, most 3rd party unlocking sites state that the "Service is Temporarily Unavailable". Does anyone among you know why the service might be down?
Some are still working. However, they cost upwards of $150, a figure I can't even think about paying since the phone didn't cost as much . Cheers.
In same situation..
Infact i paid to "LG sim unlock .com" and still after 20 days they are not completed the order and answering to wait few more days etc,.etc
any help or guidance is appreciated..
T-Mobile device unlock app issues
I have the same issue with my H918 bought from US and now I am in India. T-Mobile is not helping in this as it was bought from Ebay. The 3rd party services are down for almost 3 weeks and the ones available are priced rocket high(more than the device itself). Does anyone has a solution to this?
I am looking to unlock my tmobile LG k20 plus phone. Lg-tp260. Are there any software programs you would recommend to do so? Premium and free ones.
I the carrier will not unlock because the bill is past due. I purchased from my friend for $10. The IMEI however is not blacklisted.
Your best move is to Google network unlock service...pay the $10 or so and just be done with it. I was finally able to use the unlock app on my phone yesterday around 11pm (Oklahoma time). I know this isn't helping like you hoped, but I thought it would help lead you down the right path...good luck
