Thank you for the link. My Note had an accident some days ago and although the LCD works perfectly the external plastic screen is broken. I can use it without any problem but It doesn't look good....

Anyone have any suggestions on the best place to buy a replacement Display/Assembly -- display is cracked and touch no longer responds. I don't have a lot of $ to spend and I saw some on Ebay that where under $100 but now it appears most of those are gone and are 120+.
If anyone has any suggestions / advice I would really appreciate it -- at $120 it almost makes me want to just say screw it and get a MOTO G but I am in the US.
Is the rest of the phone worth anyone as parts?

Screen comes on but will not respond to touch -- I was under the impression the glass and digitizer are one piece (fused)?

Edit: You can buy the screen separate which is cheaper than the digitizer.
Easiest way is to buy screen fitted already in a frame. It's around 100-120 dollar.
Only screen + digitizer without LCD is cheaper but much bigger risk u damage things ending up expensiver.

i got a used phone from ebay the guy wrote that it fell and the digitizer cracked and stoped working , so i ordered a new lcd+digitizer , and its not working , anyone knows why ? (the picture is great just the touch is not working)

I would recommend to re-flash a stock rom. Usually that fixes problem.
There's a few reasons. Part was faulty/not genuine. You broke the part when installing. You left the touchscreen disconnected. Board or connector issue (hopefully not).
That's probably it.

what happens is there is a piece of tape to insulate the digitizer connector , stupidly enough they made it out of aluminum foil from covered with some kind of regular tape and when i replaced it prob the tape that covered it tore so it was not insulated so i replaced it with tape and now its working great !

A lot of times it's easier to change the digitizer and glass as one unit.
Google, model number of phone, and see if they sell just the glass.
Then check the "i fix it" YouTube sites for instructions to do it your self.

Your Phone is not a popular model. So you can not find the spare parts. If your phone is samsung or iphone, you can find many screens for replacement. Since ifixit does not have the part, you have to ask your phone supplier to know if your phone can be fixed or replaced. If they accept replace a new phone for you , it is better, if not, you have to pay a lot of money on replacing the full front lcd screen with glass. They will not replace the single glass for you, they will replace the whole front unit. Understand ?
It could be a problem as many manufacturers glue the glass to the display. It's probably way easier to change the entire display with the glass as you also prevent getting any dust between both parts.

I believe the way it works is that the glass is not special but the way it is glued/fused is. It is also a lot less work to switch the digitizer and LCD together. I know of someone who has problems with dust getting behind the glass now when he tried to just replace the glass. I'm not saying that will necessarily happen for you but just as a caution. If you replace the whole unit you can be certain you won't have any dust issues. This should be a fun learning experience. I know changing the screen and digitizer for an iPhone was for me. =)
I have bought new lcd with digitizer assembled together on ebay. After I have changed it I found out that there is dark spot on the screen when using white or lighter colors. What could be wrong? Is it possible to somehow remove the dark spot?

I have thé same problem when I changed the glass of the s3 of my gf...
The only way to remove this, is to remove what you changed, and buy a special screen glue (don't remember the name) and put it between the 2 layers to fill the empty space

But I have changed the lcd with digitizer sticked together from factory (I hope because bought on ebay). I have not changed it separately. Could it be that it comes from factory so defective? Is there no checking of functionality when it goes out from factory?
I'd return it, if it were possible or at least contact the seller and maybe open a case on Ebay?

That's quite cheap. Return it or get it to a repair shop for their opinion. It sounds like the backlight might be uneven. I'd return it.

yes I would do so, but the costs of postage from my country is half price of the lcd, and even waiting again for another lcd without working phone is pain for me
I dropped my phone yesterday and there's a scratch on the screen. My phone came with the screen protector preinstslled and I was just wondering if the crack could just be on the screen protector as everything works fine. If it is infact the screen does anyone know where I can find a screen replacement video? As I haven't been able to

You fractured the glass and could replace the glass, which is a pain in the a*s. You are better off just replacing the screen and LCD

When I get around to actually replacing it sure. Just a bit busy now so it's on the back burner. Since the phone is fully functional
