Hi! I just updated my girlfriends nexus 4 to kitkat but the notification bar is still completely black no matter what wallpaper I put. Do I miss something?

The transpacency is part of the Google Experience launcher which is only available on the Nexus 5. Or if you do a google search for Nexus 4 Google Experience, you can download the .apk files to install it on a Nexus 4.
Sadly, this is a feature only for Nexus 5, but there is a workaround.
Try this http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...once-you-get-your-kitkat-update-apk-download/ or flash a ROM that include GEL (Google Expirience Launcher).

Hi, I'm using ParanoidAndroid's Latest build which is 2.99 beta 5 and running trinity kernel @1.4ghz when I choose tablet UI on ParanoidAndroid's settings, it goes to tablet UI but the app doesn't. For example is the youtube app which supposed to be look like a 3d'ish kind of look as it was in tablets but it's still look like a Phablet UI. Is it possible to gain True Tablet UI on this particular build? Thank you in advance! and Am I able to run Jays buttery goodness on this one? How? Thanks again!

The latest build is beta 9.5,but you should be able to force the right ui in apps settings in pa preferences.

The new YouTube doesn't have the same old layout since they removed tablet ui from 4.2. You can find a link for the old help you tube in the PA thread in the development section I believe.

So on my home screen I've used the app power toggles a little bit in my setup. Though recently, when redoing my home screen today I've noticed that the music controls have not been working. I did just update my phone to 4.3 so I'm not sure if that's the reason why. Anyone else have issues?

What version of Android are you running? Stock 4.2.2 or 4.3? Or a custom rom?
Looks like it is grayed out on my side (back, Pause/Play and forwards).

If you are using a third party launcher, it could be causing the issues.

Negative. As I am using Apex launcher pro and PT is working absolutely fine. Prior to that i was using stock launcher and it was working great on that too.
OP check the version you are using and report back.

Thing is though, prior I was using Power Toggles (and the music buttons) with Nova Launcher Prime previously and there wasn't issue.
Closest thing I've been able to find from Googling around is this: http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/300241-power-control-widget-bug-4-3-a.html
Seems like it's an issue with Nova possibly when you update to 4.3 and use power toggles. Not sure if that's the case but the only thing I've found so far.
I have seen some posts on other forums where Nova is causing issues with widgets in general.

You can go to the Play Store page for Nova and weed thru the reviews, picking out the ones that mention 4.3, and you will see what I mean.

I'm coming from a romed Samsung Galaxy Nexus using Android 4.3. The reasons why I bought this phone are:
1. The large, bright, crystal clear screen
2. The ability to multitask (having two apps pulled up and interacting with both of them).
3. The new S Pen
I miss some of my stock android features. Reallllly hoping someone creates a stock android rom for this. Miss the ability to reply to texts from the pull down notification window and miss the stock keyboard auto correct features.

When I play games, take Little Galaxy for example, the screen is cut off by the navbar, is this a bug or is it meant to be like that?

Well, without hardware buttons you need on-screen buttons so that you can navigate the tablet.
Well done Einstein..
But I'm talking about some games display the whole picture without being cut off but some don't.

Aiwa means a part of the game content is being cut off without resizing.
I've not faced this issue with any game or app on stock.

Nice app to hide navbar and place left and right bottom corners new buttons for back/home...

I'm not sure about stock rom, but with cm kang, you long press the power button and select "extended desktop" for playing full screen games (or apps) and then long press and deselect it to go back to normal view mode.
I can use Pie but sometimes I like using the navbar.

Hey guys ,
I'm giving my Nexus 4 to my father to replace his Samsung S4 (broken screen) and i was wondering if i could transform the Nexus 4 into something like the S4 as he is already used to it. (Wallpaper / Sounds / Keyboard / Setings , Icons , Sliding screen etc...)
I tried several themes & launches from the Play Store but they only cover a small portion of what i'm looking for.
Can anyone recommend me a theme or a way to transform my nexus 4 into the Galaxy S4 ?
Thanks
I was stopped my project

Touchwiz Revolution
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can try custom roms that imitate touchwiz. Just search for them here on xda. I really cant make any recommandation, cause I do not own a samsung device to compare it with.
For all I know it is better to teach your father pure android. It isnt that hard to learn.
