Hi Guys
lets post the changes and improvements of the leaked JB firmware here...
many people are curious but at the thread of the leaked firmware its more info how to flash and keep root
so lets do it:good:

So far it's not working out too good for me.
1. Contacts keeps stopping.
2. Touchwiz keeps stopping.

I tried that too. Just gonna go back to ICS until there is a no-wipe official version.

noticed some changes, 4.0.4 ics to 4.1 jelly bean.

have samsung added the new widget features?

So far:
-Flashed, no brick.
-Not that smooth. Scrolling through contacts is jittery (actually the whole phone/contacts app is). Notification bar is too. Animations also jittery (even with GPU rendering)
-Can't comment on battery life, only had it on for 10 minutes.
-No significant changed, only slightly different notification bar, and some more settings in settings.
-Google Now is present, and use also the default 2-press home app.
-Camera is the same, not JB style where it's linked to gallery.
-Increases your flash counter
-Triangle Away is confirmed working by chainfire.

Viber is not support or it does not work on this update

It sucks that they didn't update the camera.

First several hours of leaked rom and ur already crying? C'mon ... Build date is 31.july so there we don't know what
is changed,added, updated and etc...

nope no firmware updates im on gdfe01 and the firmware on the phone is gdff03

i was just asking the guy who already flashed jb and said the camera improved.
i just wanted to ask what the camera fw is now because the mexican dude wasn't able to show much and the posts of other people in jb thread all had contact fc topics.
that way if the camera fw was updated too then that is one of the reason why camera pics have improved like that poster said.

Don't start bashing something that is unofficial and is in beta stage.
Remember that this is a leaked test-only ROM, and not the final product. Officially, you aren't even supposed to be using this ROM.
There's no way for us to know what parts of that ROM is still under development or what is final; what has been been ported to JB or what has been kept from ICS so it can barely work.
So, stop being naive and saying that "this and that don't work". Of course it doesn't, otherwise Samsung would've made it an official release.
Besides, this ROM was supposedly built on July 31st, so it's 16 days old. A lot might have been changed already in the ROM Samsung has under development. Not only that, but we're still 13 days away from the supposedly planned date.
I will risk a guess here, that JB won't be available on Aug. 29th: Samsung has NEVER met a deadline before, at least one that's been annouced publicly.

Actually then Samsung has no worries. Samsung has NEVER announced the 29th of Aug. as the date of release for jb for sgs3. This is a date made up of speculation, but for some reason all the n00bs now think that because they heard it on the INTERNEZZZ then that date is official.
Prove me wrong and show me where ANY official Samsung source says Aug. 29th or even any date at all......
Sorry but Sammobile is not official. Nothing but some random dude with a website posting firmwares so not official.
Random mobile phone internet sites is for sure not a reliable source and never has been. I've always said. If you heard it from a internet site then you can be sure it's not true when it comes to rumours. They will grab any chance and will say anything and grab any rumour and make an article about it just to get visiters to their sites.
But it looks like it's getting worse and worse with the "I heard on the Internezz that this and that" so it must be true.........Only thing we can be sure of is...... IQ dropped rapidly in the past few years among mobile phone users........

Been lurking here for a month and a half after finding XDA when rooting my Xperia SP and have learned so much from this super community!! Finally registered today and also heading out the door soon to pick up a Z1! (giddy as a schoolgirl!! LOL!)
I just wanted to say thanks to all the mods, devs & regular users for all the cornucopia of knowledge here in these forums and I'm confident I'll be able to root the Z1 with zero hassle with all the help, tools and guides here!!

I second the don't buy it advice. Thats TAXED! I just bought an unlocked white c6906 for 415 shipped. Theres one on swappa still i think for 535. and two on celltraderonline for 475 and 540.

Well, I bought it! Got the purple one and it's kinda cool, sort of Joker Purple so won't be an affront to my manliness!! :laugh: I didn't want to wait for the Z2 as I figure it will be a lot more expensive in Canada if it's supposedly 599 in the UK as I've seen online. I'm happy with the purchase, just heading out again to get a nice slim line case for it!

I also got my Z1 off Amazon last week. No one knows when Z2 will be out in the US, but as others have said, maybe in the summer. I decided I'd rather enjoy a nice phone now rather than wait 4-5 months.

That's exactly my thinking!! I have to say I love this phone!! I totally fell in love the SP a month and a half ago when I got it and now the Z1 is even better! Now to let it charge up and then it's rooting time!

Aaaaaaaand I'm done! Bootloader unlocked, 14.2.A.1.136 rooted, life is good!!!
Now to setup how I like and me and Barney (yes I named my purple Z1 Barney!!) can call it a day!!

Update time! Tuesday night when I finished rooting I was using the stock 136 (bal) ftf and lost LTE, switched to NUTs stock 136 (customized bal) and still no LTE, switched last night to the stock 136 (global) and LTE in tha house baby! . My purple baby beast of a phone is running beautifully!
Oh and it's not Barney anymore... The Z1 is such a sexy beast of a phone that Barney seems kind of insulting! Due to the purple hue I have dubbed it "Violet" (also the name of my first girlfriend back in grade 6 and she was in grade 8... goodtimes! Man that was a long time ago! lol!)

I actually ordered a C6906 off Ebay because I figured the Z2 would be delayed and even then, several months away from release in the U.S. Also, I'm an impatient sonovabitch. I figure I'll just sell my Z1 and buy a Z2 when it's finally available here. I had the Z Ultra briefly and really liked the software experience. My only beef was the camera, which the Z1 should satisfy.
I wish Sony was better about making their phones available here. I would have even considered a Z1 Compact if it had AT&T LTE bands.

I don't think you'll have the phone but i'd like to see how the One + One sizes up to the note 3, Galaxy S5, M8, Z2, LG G3.
That is the phone I have my eye on, it is a beast
It'll settle the score and seeing as it costs less than half the price of the others too.

Yea i've seen a lot from the Nexus 5 , you can thank the light OS for that, but then again, the One + One is running Cyanogen mod out of the box, and this bench is from the Stock phone which isn't half bad seeing that if you did the same with a stock N5 you would get substantially less, in fact irc the N5 got some very low benches on antutu out of the box, custom kernels soon sorted that out though.
The 1+1 oc'd would be ridiculous.

It's a hell of a System! Hope it will be ported to Nexus 5! And i'll get rid of my Xperiz Z1 and never come to Sony! :Sadly

Just watched all of the review and did lots of research, and I have just fallen in love with it...
It's half the price of Z1 and has crazy awesome HW, I'm gonna trade in my Z1 for $2800 HKD then get the OnePlus One for $2700 HKD OMG.

It's definitely worth the price, they've already got their OS, which means that all the crazy (supposed) research that goes into making the likes of touchwiz or sense is absent, so not too much spent there, I don't think there's any real advertising going on so there's a good few quid saved, no head phones or charger (i think) just a USB cable, all these things that they've held back on means that they can afford to sell it for less.
Samsung and Apple have got something to seriously worry about as every single flagship has been beaten at the same time by one unheard of device from nowhere, lol i think it's brilliant.
Can't wait to get one.
Apparently it's only on offer via invitation and the smash it lottery, but May should see it being launched all over. Think i'll be flogging my Z1 for £250 quid and putting another £20 for it.
Custom roms, themes and icons out of the box, perfect.

Xperia Z2 *****Official Canada thread*****

This seems to be a thing, so I'll start one for us canucks.
I got mine unlocked from Sony store and still just testing it out to see if i want to keep it or not at this point.
disappointed that they only came with the crappy earphones.
Strongly considering rooting the phone as without root, and with new restrictions in KK, I find the phone is basically a $700+ waterproof camera.

My order just shipped today from the Sony Store. Can't wait to get it. Really hoping for much improved battery life from my Nexus 4 and the improved camera won't hurt. Will be weird not having such an open device after the Nexus 4, hoping I can get sort of used to just using stock firmware for now and that Sony can provide at least a couple major updates over the next years. Will post impressions when I receive. Already ordered a dBrand skin as well as I really liked the fit and finish on the N4 and I don't like having glass on both sides.

I am definitely interested in obtaining the FTF.

I didn't notice any canada specific bloatware. jsut looked like the regular sony stuff.
my old phone was old s2, non-lte. haven't gotten an upgraded sim card yet. will update when i do.

I just picked up an LTE sim jsut now.
can confirm i get the LTE indicator
speed tests is 15Mbps / 2.62 Mbps DL / UL
am on fido.

is there anyone in Canada who got an update to 69 or 402?

This info is something that I got from the Danish Sony mobile division.

I hope they are right. It's the last time for the update to be pushed out. Since the beta has been out for quite a while, I guess, we could get the final build very soon. I've been searching for any info connected with z3 marshamallow update release and haven't found anything so far. So I really hope the guy on facebook wrote the truth. :highfive:

Yeah me too... I was running the concept as I was chosen to that but I missed a lot of things from stock and usually the beta shows up and few weeks later the official rom...it was like this on arc and s.
I look forward to this though, to win the game is to provide updates fast and with stability, other stuff can come later imo
I search the net every day for updates on the marshmallow but nothing until I just wanted to help support those with problems

Geez, guys.
Wasn't a document already "leaked" with the update roadmap which said Z2/Z3 in the end of April? I swear I've seen it somewhere.

I have seen a lot of sites and none have mentioned it as soon too come closer than this.

I'm one of the chosen ones too. :highfive: Yeah, exactly, I miss those features too. Well, let's see, I hope it will arrive in april, because may, may seems to bee too late for that. xD Well, I guess it takes time to develop a great software, and I hope Sony will give us great software.

Yeah, you must've seen it in xperiablog website. I saw that picture in someones comment. But I don't know if it was legit or not. Let's hope so.

Marshmallow coming soon!
I live in Canada and my service provider "Roger's" has it posted on their update page as "coming soon" for Z3 and another source told me it would be closed to the end of the month. Hope it works as well as the tests on beta have shown.
