full screen weather apk please! - Thunderbolt Android Development

The only phone I can get Widgetlocker to start full screen weather with, is the thunderbolt on gingerbread.
My thunderbolt on ICS won't
My incredible 2 on gingerbread won't.
My Incredible 4g on ICS won't.
So, I'm thinking it might have to do with Widgetlocker looking for a particular weather version.
htcweatherwallpaper.apk is the file it commands.
So could anyone who is still running GB on this phone, rip this apk for me?
Then I can install it on my other phones and see if it works.
(I'm not rooted so I can't rip it from my own phone).
But, if someone else knows how to make it work without doing this; please post!
Thanks!

The weather wall app from GB is designed for the gingerbread framework and sys. UI... And also the sense version it comes from. As an unrooted user, it's unlikely that he'll be able to transplant or replace a system level app that way (both because the earlier version of the app is incompatible, and because stock unrooted users don't have permission to modify system apps)
... Pointless.

I see what you mean.
I thought it was worth a shot.
Thanks for posting the apk though.
If I get around to rooting then I'll try it.
Does anyone know how to command that weather animation without rooting? Like creating a program shortcut so when I click it the animation in that apk would execute?

Extracting Sense UI to be installed on any Android handset

Is it possible to extract Sense UI and somehow create an APK file from it so it can be installed on any Android phone? I Like the HTC Desire, but i also really like the Motorola Droid & the Sony Ericcson X10, but they just dont have that overall edge without Sense. It would be really good if this could be done!
Thanks
Short answer, no. Long answer [idk. ask someone smart cuz I just dk.]
if i had a phone with sense i'd be able to tell you.
it depends on if its embedded or just a package..
if it's like a home replacement then yes.
theoretically its definitely possible but i have never even seen sense in person.
maybe someone with a desire or hero can chime in?

Not without all of Htc's closed-source frameworks
The fact that it hasn't been done yet, and that all non-HTC devices able to run it are in fact running hacked HTC roms, should tell you something.
No worries, there is actually a team whose working on porting the Sense UI to the droid

they have ported it, you just cant take the rosie.apk and put it on the market and download it and wola you have sense ui. the rosie.apk is completely depandent on HTC's framework.
I was thinking more along the lines of an update.zip to actually replace those framework files.
I didn't think it would be as simple as an .apk package installation.
I have hardly done any developing for android (yet) but wouldn't a logcat or dalvik readout give you enough info on which files are dependent on sense ui?
You throw those into a zip, sign it and put it on any device with the same version of android that hasn't been butchered by the manufactuer.
Update it and voila.
I doubt HTC went through the trouble to encrypt files specifically for each device..

Stock Android Home - Rogers 2.1

Is there a way to remove Sense and add stock Android Home to new 2.1 rom from Rogers? And if yes,how can i do that?
I know that i can remove Rosie from this rom,but there is no stock home in there.
Try ADW or Launcherpro, they are amazingly customizable. Bad thing though, is you cant use HTC widgets
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G using XDA App
Yea I know but i dont need home replacement,i want to remove all Sense apps. And use Android ones.
if you don't want the SenseUI, why don't you try any stable Froyo 2.2 ROMs,
try CM5.0.8, it is pretty cool
Well am not sure why but battery is a lot better on 6.35 radios, and i like how stable that Rogers rom is.So that is the reason, and please no more questions about that.
If someone know the answer to question i asked let me know.
i am actually working on a rom which is basically a 2.1 sense with out all the sense lol
Basically im taking out all the widgets and rosie, and then im going to put in ADW, launcher pro, and touchwiz launcher. Also will have apps2sd etc..
right now im still testing it out , but hopefully i will have it done soon
Thats not really answer to my question but good to know.

Partial answer is here -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802753
However, camera is not working (may others).
I gave up on digging more into kernel due to limited time resource. But, experts' sugguestions are always welcomed.

[Q] Htcphotowidget.apk

Any way to put this on CM7? I know its probably incorporated into Rosie, but I thought I would ask the smart ones anyway.

most of HTC stock .apks require the HTC Sense framework. It's very unlikely to get it working correctly.

Its just not gonna happen. Sorry. sense is closed source. If htc would open up the source, we could do all sorts of amazing things, but we got nothing until they do.
I was playing with this .apk last night, I couldn't even edit the .pngs. After pushing it back to the phone, it just disappears as a widget. .. What a bummer

[Q] Htc Sense 2.3.3.?

Does anyone have the sense 2.3.3. Flip Clock widget APK or RAR etc...attached?? The newest one that pulls in your Facebook/and or Twitter at the bottom of the clock were the weather used to be?? Would really appreciate it, thanks.
Note if you're installing it on a different rom from a HTC 2.3.3 sense rom it won't work. E.g. if it's a 2.2 rom it won't work. If it's nexus, cyanogen, ultimate, it won;t work. It'll only work on the same exact sense rom, or similar.

Need this apk Made installable

I need this apk made into an installable one. It's the digital clock widget from the SGS2 but won't install in my HD2.
Not sure how to do that, but there's a chance that it needs touch wiz. Much like sense widgets need sense to work.
I'll give it a go though. If it works I'll let you know.

Nan, not this widget. I was using Launcher Pro instead of TW and the widget was still usable. Others weren't, though.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
bump......
I've poked it around here and there, extracted it, signed it and repacked it, but seems my froyo doesn't like it. but I'm not a dev, so I might have done something wrong.
there's also a chance that it works only on gingerbread, I've a few apps that would only work on certain gingerbread builds.
sorry I couldn't be of help.
Yes the SGS2 is TW 4.0 which is Gingerbread dependent unfortunately

I'm using Gingerbread in my HD2 so I should be able to this widget. It isn't TW dependent but did have an odex file, which I didn't copy.
Wanna post it anyway and see if anyone with GB can install it ?
