URGENT HELP NEEDED. Might be a bricked phone.
I had recently upgrade my firmware to MJ7 and was rooted via de la vega on Hyperdrive RLS1 and wanted to update tp Hyperdrive RLS2.
I had this lingering issue with my internal storage numbers not showing up properly. (The phone told me I was using roughly 45gb internal when I have less than 32gb available. Duplicates of everything.)
I tried following Brandonrz guide [Guide] How to install roms on over stock rom (not compromising space), via ss. And wiped my phone a couple of times and was trying to install the Hyperdive RLS2 as my stock rom to save space and fix my earlier problem. But, for some reason my phone would not take that RLS2 rom. It failed and I was stock with no rom, and no stock rom.
Then I tried following [GUIDE] VZW Note III Edition[Return to Stock or recover from a Soft Brick and More]. I followed all the steps downloaded everything I needed, but despite my efforts everytime I goto flash the stock rom Odin fails.
My phone currently reads "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please use Software Repair Assistant & try again." I have tried numerous times with both Odin 3.09 and 3.07. The only other thing I can do is get my phone into downloading mode.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Keep trying the stock MJ7 tar w/Pit. Also try using different USB ports on your computer. Also check if your download is good. Best of luck!

How do I check if my download is good? I only used links on this site.
I get a "SECURE CHECK FAIL : cache" on my phone when using odin. I have no idea what that means.
Odin says "Complete (write) operation failed.

Check the MD5 on your download and compare to what is post
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Verify the MD5 if you can, just to make sure. Also, I've seen that using a regular usb2 port on your computer is more reliable than usb3 with odin, for some reason. If you're having problems, try usb2 if you haven't already.
Also one of the files had .MD5 at the end when it was uploaded. Should have ended in .tar

I am grabbing the MJ7 from that link now dhelmet78 it doesn't seem to be a duplicate to any of the other files I tried. Fingers crossed. I have two minutes left.
In Odin just to make sure I'm flashing this right. I am using 3.09 I have Auto Reboot checked, F. Reset Time checked but nothing else checked. So I didn't change anything. When I goto flash this file I'm just checking AP and choosing the MJ7 file, let it load then hit start? Right?
Sorry just got home couldn't type and drive. Thanks for linking dhelmet

**** man. I was so close...I did what you said and removed the .md5 off the end and added the pit file again like someone suggested. And it finally did something it was writing I had the blue line on my phone fill all the way and I thought everything was going to be ok. But after about 4 minutes Odin report failed.
"Fail! (Auth)"
Complete(write) Operation failed.
I feel like I'm getting closer though
Do a battery pull and try it again. (may not help, but certainly can't hurt) If you are using the latest Odin you shouldn't need to delete the "md5" off the end either.

Hey fellas. I have to take my hat off to all of those who have done some great work for the VZW Note 3.. Well to my issue now.
I tried to step back to the original release from the MJ7 (I havent read you cant do that yet but I think I figured out why you shouldn't). I wanted to deox, root and safestrap the MJ7 release and I thought this would be the only way how.
Anyways now I am stuck at the "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please use Software Repair Assistant and try again" screen. I have tried to download the stock release from six different sources, all corrupt (one site, six different mirrors) and obviously failed.
Any suggestions? I need to go to work soon and my phone is very useful at work....
Thanks
What worked for me was booting to recovery and wiping data..

Not sure of your exact situation, but you cannot flash MI9 back after going to MJ7. You will need the full MJ7 Odin file and most probably the pit file too.

I used it. YMMV
I just did legend fail.
Been on stock MK2 (MF3 sideloaded to upgrade MK2), then i decided to go back to 4.2.2 stock since i really did not like the 4.3, did not make any research, so i odin the MF3 files and tried to flaash, but got an error in first 5 sec. Now every time i switch on the phone its saying i have to make upgrade through KIES, what sounds work w/o luck.
I know we dont have 4.3 odin files yet and not sure we will have them, but is there any way still to get this device to work ? Or its absolutely broke ?
Would appriciate any help ty

I did the same thing on my SGH-I337M. Kies was a waste of time. I used Odin, downloaded the newest 4,3 firmware and reflashed it in update bootloader section only. Took about 8 minutes but saved my phone. Knox won't let us downgrade so we are sad at the moment.
can any1 please share this file bootloader of MK2 so i can flash it throu odin to make the device to work, would appriciate any further info or help ty. w/o phone for 3 days already

Yeap got the phone from my bro he is leaving in Rochester, if i would know that he sent me At&T and its as block as it is now, i would spent money to buy it from Amazon Germany, internatioonal fully functional =) but my luck
Since we got the 4.3 update closing our download funtion in phone, will we be able to flash through odin the stock 4.3 MK2 to re-stock bricked sgs4 ? like you can do with MF3?
I am asking since currently i am w/o phone and waiting for someone to post the stock MK2, but will that for sure make it work normal excluding its blocked downlaod etc. ? just curious
Same thing happened to me.. I worked for hours and finally just tried flashing the I337 PIT file thru Odin in the Pit option.. It said failed but I pulled the battery and rebooted into recovery then restarted.. Google for the pit file.... I have the full zip MK2 file but you have to have the MD5 files for Odin

Where can i find this PIT ?

Yes, you should be able to sideload or flash the zip through recovery.. With all these fails at updates, I wish I would have stayed at what I had and not messed with it..lol.. It seems nothing is guaranteed and it's always a risky chance when you flash something..
I decided to update to 4.3 and didnt like it so i stock flash 4.2 back via odin. flash said "pass" but now i have knox on recovery. Im guessing i have the new bootloader. 4.2 flash on but with errors like wifi wont toggle on & on every reboot i get an erro "kernel seandroid is not reonforsing" or something like that...so now im stock on 4.3 :/

The mistake i made was to go downgrade from 4.3 to 4.2.2 do not make it since we do not have files for ODIN flash 4.3.
There is full 700 mb file witch you can easily sideload, if u get any error just go back to odin to flash stock MF3 and then sideload MK2, worked for me w/o problem but pls do not downgrade !
If i were you i would not go 4.3, TW is much more bugged for me, and phone feels way different thats why i wanted to go back to 4.2.2

I was able to downgrade... kinda..
I had my own epic fail when bell's update came out.
Flashed stock/counter reset.
Got OTA update no prob.
Rooted - Deleted too much bloat... (didnt backup) MY EPIC MISTAKE.
Thought "oh ill just start again"
Odin Back to 4.2.2 FAIL!!!
Stuck.. kinda
found someone with the international version in the same issue that odin flashed files from another carrier and was able to fix his situation...
so i went to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and downloaded the NEWEST date 4.2.2 rom for my 337m, which happened to be Dominican Republic carrier.
Flashed the DR version successfully in odin, and had no sound, no mic, no wifi.
I was then able to Odin flash 4.2.2 from bell... but still had no sound, no mic, no wifi....
the only real fix was LUCKILY within 24 hours of the OTA release, the odin file was posted to sammobile and saved my ass... all works now.
Played with the 4.3 update for a couple hours, then went back to 4.4 builds... LOL
At least i got to use my captivate again for a few calls for a day. that was nice.
Really have no idea how i an fix this w/o odin files.
umm you cant.

yes safstrap is the only thing that comes up. its either enter recovery or black screen. It is saying no os loaded and the install and wipe button are red when on stock rom slot. Reboot the phone into download mode and flash with Odin. You will need to find stock note 3 in tar format for Odin.

Hi, I'm stupid and bricked my phone.
I had rooted almost immediately after getting my phone, AT&T SM-G900A, and had no problems.
Used FlashFire to apply the 5.0 pre-rooted stock rom (OC4), and had no problems.
Decided today to use SuperSU's "Full Unroot" function, rebooted, and now I can't get past the AT&T logo on boot. And apparently even after that the phone is still rooted.
Tried the G900AUCU3BOC4-OneClick.exe Odin flasher, but it fails and I get "sw rev check fail [aboot]: fused 4 > binary 3" which from what I understand means I am trying to install a rom version that is older than the one I currently have.
Looked on the internet to see if there is any Odin-compatible tar.md5 file for the newer versions, hoping one of those would let me update. However, I can only find .zip files made by muniz_ri. Tried copying those to my microSD card and install through recovery, but it fails with "invalid header". It looks like those zip files only work with FlashFire, which I can't even get to anymore because I can't boot.
Is there a floating copy of one of the newer stock roms (can be unrooted, I don't care) that I can flash with Odin? Or is there another secret I am missing? I have been through dozens of threads here on the forums and they all seem to have a solution that just give me any results.
Thanks for any help!
I have the same issue, did you fix it somehow?

will this work for Virgin mobile as well? I haven 't had a need yet...but knowing meeee...eventually.
Worked for my VM version of the phone. I think the phone sets itself from the network(Sprint, Boost, Virgin) when you activate it.
Very well ,Confirmed Works on boost mobile only method. helps me get off or bypass screen massage Blocked by FRP ,flashed with Odin thanks
Thank you very much! Also for the confirmation it works..... (i did hit the thanks button)
Downloading now,....... Just got this device due to a insurance claim so this is a completelt new phone to me and I really want to either start or add to one specific form till we get a complete spot on the fourms.... Any way my ideal or a good ideal for us is to add everthing that is confirmed working as on today and add it to one fourm and reserve like 10 entrys for specific problems and the solutions. Or just in a easy format so everything is not so confusing till we get our device a Fourm started instead of a thread thats confusing and hard to follow.... Anyone with me???? Its a new device and we need development so bad.. im stuck in a bootloop as of now and cant find the info to help me and its so aggervating.... someone will have to maintain it of course

recovery booting ...blue
This does not work. I've tried it multiple times on multiple versions of Odin. This will not work if you use Boost Mobile. It either fails, hangs at flashing boot.img, or hangs at SetupConnection.

This works to get you back to stock from bootloop. I tried my hand at rooting this little SOB (TWRP,Magisk) and tripped the Knox counter bc I forgot to wipe it. Reboot came up with "Validation Failure" and I was stuck. I stumbled over this post and with nothing to lose other than $130.
First piece of advice...Use Odin 3.12.3 ONLY!! I tried the latest version and it didn't work. Download the files, place them in the appropriate boxes and flash. reboot into recovery, wipe the cache/data and you should be good. Mine took quite a while after hanging on the Boost mobile splash screen, but about 3 reboots later, it brought me to the configuration screen. It's up, running and I even got the OTA software update, but then again, it is stock.
