Was plugging in my G2 to charge it and suddenly it had this screen. "Firmware Update. Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is complete."
How do I exit safely? Will I corrupt any data or damage anything? I was only plugging in my phone to a wall socket, so I don't know why there would be such a screen. Help anyone? >.<
Someone knows how I can exit safely? >< Please?
That sounds like its in download mode, which you get to by turning off the phone, then plugging in a usb cable while holding vol up. I always assumed the usb cable needed to be connected to a computer for that to happen, but maybe it works if it just senses power.
Anyway, if the bar isn't going anywhere (and it shouldn't be since its not connected to anything feeding it data) then you should be okay unplugging it and turning the phone off, then back on.
Edit: Just tried it with my phone - turned off, then connected USB cable/wall charger while holding vol up and sure enough it went into download mode. I unplugged the cable, then held the power button until the phone restarted. Booted as normal.
My Lg ls740 prompted me to do a system update 3days ago and has not came back om since. It just keeps flashing from LG logo and the android man...i have tried taking battery out...factory reset...and everything above . Can anyone help?!?!

I have spent the last 12 hours looking through forums and toying with my phone to try to get this error message off and as it has worked for everybody else, it still has me puzzled.
I can't get back to the download screen from where I am stuck right now. The USB isnt recognizing my phone is connected keeping ODIN from picking it up. I have tried the vol- and vol+ with the power button, but it just keeps resetting and showing the same message...I have been holding buttons for about 6 hours of my last 12...I have taken the battery out, plugged it back in holding the buttons while hooking up the USB cable, as well as doing the same with it plugged into the wall...All these methods I have gathered with no luck...Anybody hve any more or any alternate suggestions? Thanks
I was stuck there too on Saturday. Here's what finally got me into download mode:
Pull the battery to power the phone off, then replace it. Hold just the volume down button. Do not hold the power button. Plug in either the wall charger, or a USB cable connected to your PC.
This powered my phone up and loaded the download screen when hours of trying all the other posted combinations failed me.
Anyone having boot problems?
Waiting the case, i have put my tab in his box moving from a place to another, when i took it i saw a green andoid image with the message "POWER RESET or UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE".
Now it is blocked in this message state. Can't turn off, reboot ...use it...
Anyone know the way to reboot (key combination)? if galaxy tab has a recovery system? or something in order to resolve this problem?
Just to know, no root attempts, only some application normal installed from the market...
hi, i think if you press the power button and leave it pressed, it will reboot.
after the battery charge finished and the recharged all work fine...
i think the "block state" has been caused from the home+volume keys that probably were were pressed in the box..
it would be usefull to know these key-press effects
They are standard android combos. Google is your friend.
I stumbled across this screen while my Samsung SGH-I897 (Captivate) was powered down, hooked up to my PC using the USB cable and the battery was half way charged. I held down both the power and volume up buttons for a few seconds and got to this screen before the unit attempted to boot. It remained there until I held down the same key sequence for about 5-7 seconds. It's now back to a powered off state, still hooked up to my PC via the USB cable, and the display has the standard large battery icon showing it at about 50% charged. Leaving the Captivate idle will continue to charge my phone via USB (abeit slower than having it attached to the power adapter) and the screen shuts itself off. It practically looks like it's fully off or fully dead like this, but it's not.
Omnia 7 with Mango RTM officially installed, working perfectly was recently let to sit idle while I was using my Focus, and the battery drained over time.
Today, I wanted to charge it, but plugging in the USB did not power the phone on. I even changed cables, and also used my PC to charge it - but for the life of me, it wouldn't turn on. I even let it sit with the charging cable in it for a while.
I also took the battery out and only plugged the cable, still nothing.
Is the phone dead? Can anything be done to revive it - it was a flawless phone and there were no issues as such. I would appreciate any help.
Update: I plugged in the USB jig which powered the phone on, but now it's in the download mode. Powering it down and and trying to restart it again I am hitting a dead end. It's not powering on. Anyway to restart the phone without removing battery?
Update 2: I remembered from the past trying to update the ROM, that it fails and restarts the phone. So, while in the download mode, I started the ROM updater from Samsung and ran through the normal update process. It failed and restarted the phone - now I see a big white battery charging icon on the front screen. So hopefully this will be ok - and I will update the progress.
But this is quite disturbing as to what steps I had to take to power it on. Imagine if I didn't have the USB jig.
Update 3: After showing the battery icon for about 5-10 minutes, the phone restarted itself and booted normally. It's now charging and hopefully all will be ok. I'll make sure I don't let the battery die again.
Hi all,
I have a LG G2 from AT&T. Had it for about 1.5 years now. No issues until now.
I was just watching some YouTube videos and the phone suddenly shut off. I tried the power button and it won't turn on.
I plugged the G2 in to a power outlet, but it was just stuck on the "LG" screen. I unplugged the cable, and now, even when I plug in the cable, the phone won't turn on.
Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance to anyone who can.
I believe it's due to the motherboard, but I'm not sure.
Really would like someone's help!
Bumping. Really need help with this.
Can you put it in download mode?
Plug in your usb cable from pc holding vol down button, if nothing happens, try at the service centre because it can be hardware related.
The phone doesn't do anything when connected to the laptop with the button held down. :/
The other morning I woke up and my phone would not turn on after being on the charger overnight on the night stand.
I removed the battery, power drained the device and still the device would not post.
So I grabbed my spare battery and tried that, still no post.
I plugged in my device and noticed the charging light was not coming on, so i tried a different adapter and yet again no change.
I disassembled the phone and swapped out the USB flex cable with a new one, still no change.
So I plugged the device into my computer and I received a battery gray battery image that flashes away almost immediately.
I unplugged the phone held the power button down and plugged the phone back in. I received the Samsung writing with the model number but the device just goes back to the grey battery and flash away,
I attempted to boot the device to recovery mode but it just loops back to the grey battery,
I had then decided to try download mode with odin and restore the stock ROM. I can get the device into download mode but no computer recognizes the device in device manager or odin.
I have removed and re-installed the battery while in download mode and any computer will still not recognize the device.
I noticed one strange thing. If i remove the USB cable from the phone while it is plugged in the phone powers off and will not turn on until it is plugged into a power source.
It is almost as if the phone does not recognize that the battery is even plugged in!
If anyone has any ideas or could possibly point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys in advanced if anyone can offer any information on this issue!
Also, the phone is out of warranty!
