hey guys yesterday i have lost my brand new less than 1 day old Sony Xperia Z1 . Looking for a new one a guy offered me galaxy s4 for 250$ which is good deal.
He says that it is 100% genuine mobile with 1year Samsung India warranty(im from india).ANd i have tried that it is genuine one with everything genuine .
And it has samsung india warranty so it is not some cheap chinese clones.
It's original one manufactured By Sammy.
Is there any scam or something is there any thing i could check.
I have lost my brand new Xperia z1 yesterday . Sold my GNOte 2 for xperia z1.Now stuck with no mobile
So please suggest if there is anything to check

I wouldn't go for it. Might be a knockoff or stolen. Too good to be true.

When it's too good to be true, it's not. Might be perfect, but can be stolen.
get your conscience free and spend a bit more, or go for nice alternatives like the Moto G
If you look on youtube, there's quite a convincing knock off. It maybe one of those (especially coming from india)

My beloved Galaxy S is dead. The Samsung technician said it's the motherboard. I dread the thought of spending more money on a new phone, especially if it only lasts 2 years. However, there is a guy selling supposedly new Galaxy S phones on Yahoo's local Internet auction. I'm tempted because of the price and because I have an extra battery and a really nice case (not to mention I now have spare parts), but I don't know what I should be aware of. How can a 2-year-old phone still be around when the Galaxy S3 is out? Can this be legitimate leftover inventory? Are there known fakes out there? (A search of Ebay shows a lot of Galaxy S phones in Shenzhen, China, but I don't know if they're fake or not.)
What questions should I ask the seller? I want to know if there is an OEM battery and if it comes in an unopened box. What else should I ascertain?
Thanks.
Ask him to type *#1234# in the phone if the box is opened;
if he says like
Pda I9000....
Phone I9000
CSC I9000
the best way to know if it is fake or not.
if the box is not opened you should decide yourself.Want some picture from seller for the box etc..
I didnt see any fakes of galaxy s.But as you know galaxy s has some variants
I9000
I9000T
I9000B
Or korean version which's name is entirely different and so on
i recommend you to choose international one,I9000.Custom rom support is amazing for it!

LOL, I bought mine in January 2012 at Noel Leeming NZ
The guy said that i9000 stocks are still available in Vietnam
I haven't talked to the seller just yet, but I got a rough translation of some of the questions people have been asking him.
First off, he had 50 for sale, 41 are left. He says they were display models. They are not 100% new, but no one has asked him yet how much use they have had. He offers a 7-day exchange if something is wrong, and a 30-day warranty. It is the i9000 as that was all that was available here. He sells a lot of cell phone-related things and has pretty good feedback. He has some HTC Arias and Heros for sale, too, which may lend some legitimacy to his business.
I'll have to register an account to ask him more questions. If the phones have never been turned on, he may be reluctant to type in that code.
MrAndroid12, how much did you pay for yours?
I bought mine in january of this year to ;p, for €150 (idk how many dollars that is).
But it broke recently while flashing, and i'm experienced with flashin, but i could not fix it D:, so i got the sensation, thats a really good phone to, and if you know where to look, you can get it cheap

HI GUYS,
My z1 had camera issues and the service center guys said they will give me a new device but these guys did not take the box, I am wondering that these guys are just bluffing, is there a way for me to find if the device I am getting is new?
I have got my Z1 replaced the same way. They didn't take the box, the charger or the headphones. They gave me a brand new one. It was covered in those plastic film foils, it came in. 534 firmware and, the most important thing, it had A NEW IMEI. So, stay cool. You will get a brand new device for sure.

What price did you pay for your Z1 ? was it online or from a shop. The camera issue you've had has happened to others as well.

Thanks for sharing your experience, hopefully the same procedures are followed back in India.
But do you or anyone actually know how to find if the phone is new or refurbished
Is it possible by the IMEI nukber or ahynsoftware?
I don't think so. Just check the phone's build quality and any traces of it being used before.
Although Sony's policy allows the replacement with a refurbished phone, the law in my country doesn't allow that. It clearly states that the repairs must be done using new materials or - if it comes to a replacement - the replacement device must be a brand new one.

It's a good deal, the online sources tend to beat the shops but then i'm a bit leery to buy something this expensive on line. Don't mind paying a little more premium to avoid such issues. Somebody else had ordered earlier from homeshop18 and had the same issue. Took about a month to get a replacement as the vendor was not in the same city.

IMEI is unique for every phone.
Chance is good you will get a another one as they do not service Z1 in India, it has to be shipped over to Sweden.
Whether new or refurbished is the question ? does it show any wear or tear, you will have to examine closely. Coming in a sealed box does not mean too much.
I am buying a used note 3 off ebay from a seller with 200k feedback. Do you think this is a good idea?
What are the pros and cons of buying it? It is listed as an A or excellent on a scale of A-F.
Since the note 3 itself is less than a year old, would I be able to take advantage of the warranty through samsung or no?
Anything to look for when I received it? If its bad I can just spend like $150 more for a new one off ebay.
EDIT: sorry its a question its my first time here, can mod please move thanks.
This is NOT the q&a forum, but with the note 4 out in sept. The price should be right, or wait and spend some big bucks on new.
I bought used one, seller lived close to me (few kilometers). Got to check the phone before the real deal, no regrets so far.
I have bought from eBay in the past when in didn't have the cash for brand new. The key is just to your research, make sure its the model your after, is it n9005 or n9008? For example. Find out if Knox has been triggered on it etc. And if After all your questions your still not 100% sure then save up and buy new, least that way there is no chance of disappointment. And like #someguyfromhell said, local is always better.

Do you know how I can take advantage of the samsung warranty? Like how can I get it replaced with a samsung refurb or a new one? Any methods?
2nd hand is fine as long as the condition is still good but would advise to do COD so you can check on the spot, especially with so many china made imitations around.

I think I can easily tell if its a fake chinese one.
But would you justify spending 50$ more for a brand new one with an SD card problem, BUT it has warranty so it can most likely be repaired, but I would have to wait 10 days for that.
I'd get the LG G3 (32gb) if I didn't have my Note 3 lol

I'm actually selling my note 3 to buy a G3 haha
Has anyone of you here buyed a G3 from ebay , ive seen one for US $151.63 and i dunno if its legit , its a LG G3 D851 selling from Hong Kong
It is always better to buy phone specially LG G3 or G2 from a local dealer instead of online shops. Because if there is any problem in that like as it is refurbished or board is changed then you won't be able to do anything in case of online shopping but writing but reviews.
So buying local can be a bit expensive but good.

Bought my d850 off eBay for $150 U.S. dollars months ago. Only thing wrong with it was the back cover had a small puncture. So I ordered another back cover without the at&t logo. Looks better and runs great with Validus rom.
