So im not sure what i did but im getting pi88ed ....Error on boot...kernel is not seandroid enforcing set waranty bit kernel....also my galaxy s4 sprint varient thinks its canadian and i have no data! it boots up im on omni...so here is the back story...i flashed omni spr in philz touch clockwork...it gave an error and would not flash...the error said basically that my phone was canadian and i need the sprint version...and yes my phone is sprint ive had it for close to a year...so now i cant go back to 4.2.2. or 4.3...already tried in odin ....aperently once you go to 4.4 you cant go back...any help would be appreciated!
So, don't take this the wrong way but I am a bit confused. Are you sure you have an S4?
The reason I ask is because MJA was recently released and with it 4.3. 4.4 is KitKat and that has only been released to a few devices (S4 on sprint in the US not being one of them).
What I would suggest you do is boot into your Recovery, wipe everything then do a stock restore.

I tried to install Phils cwm touch using twrp, its a sm-n900a nc2 and it keeps saying there is software not autharized by at&t was found on your phone please power off your device and go to the nearest at&t store for help
I cant seem to find the right odin files for nc2 and every mlg build ive tried says binary invalid when i try to flash... any help???

N900A is a slightly-different version of Note 3, so you should pay more attention and look first in the correct forum - this one is the International Note 3 forum, while you should focus on the specific AT&T Note 3 forum:

You can probably write back stock AT&T ROM with Odin but any ROMs will be ONLY by using something like SafeStrap.
Bottom line - READ MORE, do stuff only after you understand you are doing.

I bought a used S4 that was rooted + aws enabled. It was working fine until one day it got stuck on the Samsung logo during boot. I tried clearing cache and factory resetting from the recovery but that didnt work. So I proceeded to reverting the phone to the stock rom with odin, which I got from Android rootz ( Google telus s4 stock rom, its the first link ).
So that worked, the phone booted its 4.2.2 but , no Wifi and no sound no AWS. My question are :
- Why arent the wifi and sound working if it was stock ?
- can I root my S4 following the steps in this thread : (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293800 ) ?
- does it matter which version of Android im on ? for instance, I was thinking about installing the stock kikat for telus before rooting ?
- Does it matter if i use odin 1.85 vs newer versions

1. I would install 4.4.2
2. If it wont work with odin1.85 use the 3.09 version
3. Install philz touch recovery and select "clean to install a new rom" so everything will be cleaned and the wifi should work fine after flash with odin
4. root it with www.towelroot.com

I really appreciate your help...i just started all this stuff yesterday so lm going to look into philz touch recovery. Also I think I know how to root using odin so im just going to do that once my phone starts working ( unless that doesnt work on 4.4.2 ? )
However, Right now can i just use odin to add in kit kat stock rom for telus ( or any other stock rom for that matter - maybe the one i used was bad )? I honestly want to worry about rooting and AWS after getting the phone fully functional

Hello XDA. I am going to unroot and return to stock firmware and recovery as i would like to update the phone through samsung kies. As i understand i need to update the boot loader and modem. I then plan to reroot and install ktoonz recovery and get a newer rom. I have an SM-g900w8 (telus) currently running x-note NE2 software version 3 i belive and ktoonz 08.04.2014 kernel with twrp 2.8.0.0. I rooted the phone 3 days after i got it and never took a samsung update. I am just curious as to weather i need to revert to stock recovery before i flash the stock firmware. I made a brick out of my S2X trying to revert to stock so i am a little gun shy. Also wondering if this whole coarse of action is advisable and worth the trouble. If there are any known issues with rooting and flashing after samsungs latest updates. Also if anyone can provide or point my toward the stock firmware for a telus sm-g900w8 that would be great as i cant seem to find a reasonable place to download it. i apologize for not doing more reading and research but i just spent 6 months away from home working so i am trying to catch up. Thanks again XDA any help info or criticisms are appreciated .
Hey XDA, new here but long-time lurker, I like many am stuck with 4.4.4 on my n900v and am looking for a way out. So far the only promising thing I've seen is the video for the n900a (which ihas locked bootloader as well?). I got all the files replaced for the n900v version to at least get back from 4.4.4. to 4.4.2 but Odin is failing with the sw rev check fail fused 4 binary 3 error. I am using the stock NC4 fimware and have tried several downloads, I've tried Odin 3.10 and 3.09 and made sure running in admin and everything checked that's needed. I also made sure my phone has USB debugging enabled and Unknown Sources checked. I've read that I should try a custom rom but assume that with my locked bootloader that wouldn't work either. The n900a has a locked bootloader as well I believe which is why I thought that if I replaced the files with Verizon versions the instructions in the video would work.
Is there any way back to 4.4.2 from 4.4.4 on the n900v or am I screwed? Thanks! :fingers-crossed:

But serious why can AT&T Note 3 be downgraded with a locked Bootloader but Verizon can't?

Because 4.4.4 has a different bootloader which blocks out downgrading to 4.4.2. That's why you can't go back to 4.4.2 once you go to 4.4.4 and more than likely whenever Lollipop comes (rather if be 5.0.x or 5.1) they will more than likely block downgrading to 4.4.x or whatever on that too.
Yes I understand the whole locked bootloader part, just confused on why you can downgrade AT&T's which is locked also I thought? Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything but looks like Im SoL like the rest of ya. (No wonder so grumpy). Thanks. :crying:

Because AT&T and Verizon are two different companies who have 2 different requirements for their phones even if from the same manufacturer.
Verizon requires their updates to not be downgrade able while AT&T apparently doesn't have that requirement.

if you're on NC4 just use towel root v3 to root.

Use this guide from Droidstyle, ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46461911), which should help you restore the phone back to factory stock 4.4.2 NC4. Then (like BladeRunner said), you can use Towelroot to gain root access. Just don't update the phone to any Android versions past 4.4.2 or you will lose ability to root, as there's no current root method for 4.4.4 for our phones.

BACKGROUND; I downgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat Baseband NB1, and from there rooted using towel root. This is an AT&T
SGH I337.
As stated above I'm running a rooted at&t s4 and I am trying to flash a custom rom on it. However after reading many tutorials and struggling, I've came to the conclusion that my MDL is preventing this from happening. I cannot seem to flash a rom no matter what application I use (I've tried Flashfire and TWRP with no luck) and on my most recent attempt to flash with TWRP the phone booted back to the same 4.4.2 kitkat interface and when I tried to access bootloader with home+volume up combo, a warning popped up and said secure fail kernel in the top right and in the center of the screen said "System software not authorized by AT&T found on phone." This made me come up with the conclusion that the MDL is preventing me from flashing custom roms. I've looked around and tried to find something to block the MDL, and the most common thing that pops up in the s4 forums is called Loki Doki, but I have yet to find a link that is not dead. So here I am with an s4 running KitKat which really sucks as I'm sure you guys can imagine.
That being stated, I would like some help on this and eventually be able to run a custom ROM. Any help is appreciated, Thanks !
